True- true. I don't think I have ever seen a blinky , or sparkly anywhere around anything made by Aikea Guinea and Gelydh, or Nymphy either for that matter. None of them do Blinkies or Sparklies.

If they started using blinkies, I think I would worry, especially since I think it was Aikea Guinea who said on GOS that Peggy has way too many blinkies on her site.

The backless shower! I've been waiting for it since I got the game, cool! The available two showers are boring, the backless one lets you do a lot of designs and looks

The hairs conversions for Sims 3 are popping out at such a rate that it's getting hard for me to follow up lol so I'll give some tips for the Sims 3 newcomers.

I am really liking Oepu's Edit of the Base Game Feathered Bob- You can get it here- http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=360839. And the best thing is that the Shorter Bob Version is for all ages, all genders so more hair for my Tots and Little Kids without having to resort to Rose Hairs.

lol. People are making too many hairs and clothing right now, and paintings. But I can honestly say I have not downloaded any patterns in like a month 

Not that that helps much when I'm downloading a million other things. If I get World Adventures, I'm probably going to have to purge my downloads. But at least I have my Mods folder organized from the start, rather than what I did with The Sims 2, waited till a week before Sims 3 came out to do so.

Most of what I have right now are default replacements, and a few patterns I really like. I only have HystericalParoxysyms hairs, Oepu
s bob, the new XM Sims hair and three hair edits that Aikea Guinea and Gelydh did. Object wise I have not downloaded the shower but have Nandonalt's dining set. I just did a week through and got rid of all the clothing my sims are not using or wearing and will probably do so again later today. I tend to download stuff, test in game and delete if I don't like. The Stylist Sims set quickly went bye bye for instance. I really wish we already had DDO for TS3.

I like her stuff and it looks good in game but hopefully now that other stuff is possible like objects and real recolors not just CAST stuff or something, we will start seeing a bit of variety on her site- like deco objects- they are art to.

I hope that some day someone can find out how to make the cloned pictures be recolors of their base, like what we had on Sims 2, rather than I have 10 pictures that are based off of one in game painting, and all 11 pictures are cluttering up the painting section.

I'm not so sure we will see deco objects from her, she seems to be only paintings, and now moving into houses. But I do hope to see deco objects soon, there is a major lack of statues in this game. I hope with World Adventures they add a statue section to the deco section, because I can see a lot of statues coming with this, and putting all the statues in the misc. deco section will really clutter it up fast(especially since the catalog viewing area is so small, at least for me.).

I hope one day we can figure out how to clone and make recolourable -all the currently- unrecolourable stuff - I mean, I know there is no reason why stairs and fences can't be recoloured....none whatsoever.

And pictures, they could have done like they did with the deco kitchen jars - had some different non-recolourable patterns.

Simgaroop has a new dreamwidth specifically for all of her creations. There are quite a few these days! Check 'em all out, but particularly her new goggles.

But as far as skins go, needlecream definitely takes the cake. I think she's doing the community a serious service. Her newest skins are to die - the VINES! NOM.

Lastly, has anyone seen this site? Dana's Sims. Last updated June 10th, but I hadn't seen it before. Haven't looked through everything, but so far I really like the first AF dress (nice and green, yum).

For those who want their own custom paintings in the game but can't be arsed to learn how to clone and object and replace the dds and all that business, you can use the Sims 3 Neighborhood Workshop to change sim created paintings (the ones they paint on an easel) to any gif or jpg you want.

It has a plugin that lets you view sim created paintings and swap out the default picture for one of your own. Super easy and no fuss.

Hi!

I just wanted to respond to the questions and statements about my paintings. First of all, I thought my site name, Sims Art Gallery, actually explained exactly what my site was. It is primarily for art. I love art. I have so many paintings up because my game is sadly lacking and each and every one of those paintings were in my sims 2 game and will be used again in my sims 3 game. I just thought I would share. I also realize that there are different strokes for different folks. Not everyone is going to like everything I post and everything I post is not going to fit into every style of decorating. I'd like to think I've given everyone something to suit their style.

As for recolors, ea has actually lessened the need for every item to be recolored. There are actually few things that can be recolored. Hence the lack of recolors of ea's meshes. The things that I use the most get recolored. If there is something you'd like recolored, by all means, leave me a message. It may not be possible, but I can always try. I needed the quilt rack recolored.  Sadly, it's not even in the list of things that can be recolored. Otherwise, we'd all have had recolors of that god awful quilt rack.

As for new meshes, at some point I'd like to try my hand at new meshes. The process is so new right now that I'd personally like to wait until it's a little further down the road. It's not a perfect system, but these tool creators are limited by what ea has done to the game. Personally, I think they've done an excellent job to get us this far down the road. And I'm not being ugly, but the some of the new meshes that have come out are not quite to my liking and I feel that at some point, things can only get better for meshes. I'm not interested in being one of the first to put something out simply because it can be done. I prefer to do it when things are better and what I post is a bit better quality. I'm not saying the new meshes are garbage or the creators. They are only doing what they can with what they have. Kudos to them for that.

I hope this has explained why there are so many paintings and what I hope for the future for the site. If you'll hang in there, so will I.
