Yeah, but if I'm not mistaken, desert flowers are actually really lush and vibrant while blooming? Understand, I'm a temperate climate girl, never lived in a desert.

The flowers usually do and for a short period, but cactus can grow just about anywhere. I'm from the gulf coast area, and we had fields and fields of wildflowers with cacti growing all around. And swarms of mosquitoes from all the bayous and bays. The main reason that Texas has such a vast amount of wildflowers is because of Ladybird Johnson and her conservation efforts. Not only in Texas, but the whole nation, actually.

Is it me, or do the curls on that look like someone just glued curly ribbon to their heads? I keep thinking it should be in a different color from the hair itself.

I wanted to compare this to one of dot'd lamps, but I can't get on to tsr, and we've all seen her work. If you've seen 1 of dot's craptastic lamps, you've seen them all. I think I would much rather have something like this for my sim's. It actually has some detail and texture, and pretty colors in the glass part. It even has a 'shape'. http://www.all4sims.de/board/filebase.php?fileid=5584&lim=15

That St. Simwell lighting set is all gorgeous. I love the little ground-level garden lamp. These are going straight into my game. What a great site!

I'll be offended for my great grandfather. What the hell is that crap. What is this assumption that Rom have mismatched furniture painted in cheap colours. From everything I understand, they instead of a fondness for luxurious stuff that they tend to keep until its completely worn out - not cheap looking crap. *blechs*

What are you talking about? When I think Romani I think eye-bleachy Ikea with knobs on everything! eta: forgive me if I misspelled

Hey! My entire bedroom is Ikea.
In my defense, I'm a college student. All of our furniture is Ikea or something we found on the street with the single exception of the dining table, which my roommate made in a furniture construction class (She's a film student, emphasis in set building). It's a pretty awesome table.

Yes, when I think "Gypsy" I think "eye-searing pastels" and "60s bead curtains".

I don't exactly dislike Ikea. It's not any better made or worse made than comparably priced things I've bought. I like the clean lines (and their kids stuff). But the set is just about as quote-unquote Gypsy as Ikea. That's what I see. Ikea makes boxes and pegs. Let's tart it up in trashy colors and add lotsa knobs. Its like putting a sari on Bill Gates. WTF?
