I don't know if you've all seen this yet, so I'll just post it in case you haven't.
Buggybooz has a new mesh set up, with 3 recolours. The textures are fantastic, as usual.

Well, I'll concede that it looks very good in the picture. It's not something that really awes and astounds me, but then, nothing that doesn't actually DO something does.

It DOES do something. It doesn't just sit there in the game. It gives Sims something to look at and they can even put stuffs on the tables. It also gives those of us who recolor something else to..well, recolor.  Tongue Besides that, wood burns well in those fires my Sims tend to set cause just happen to be in the area of when they spontaneously occur.

MLC - you could try not putting fireplaces in your Sims homes, or teaching them to cook and getting a fire alarm if you don't want them to accidentally catch things on fire (or is this your sooper sekrit method of getting rid of unwanted Sim families without corrupting your neighborhood by simply deleting them,.

Well, it's cold out so they need to have the fireplace. The fire/smoke alarm is present. So that leaves us with the possibility of that being my not-so-sooper-sekrit way of getting rid of unwanted Sims...

I'm so in love with GOS's default revamp challenge.

http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=15817.0

I came to the realization that instead of hundreds of cc downloads to try to drown out the eaxis fug I can download shinies that replace the fug. No more fugly townie clothes???

And some of the best sims 2 default clothes come from Nocturnal, of course. http://nocturnalsims.dreamwidth.org/tag/clothes%3Ball

I dunno, I think being shabbily dressed is partly a rite of passage for townies. Like in the real world, the homeless can be identified by their shabby clothes. Given that randomly-generated townies in Awesomeland occupy the same position on the social ladder that bums do in the real world, it's only right that they wear their shabby outfits.

But it uglies up my nice houses. No one who owns a house worth $1.4mil expects a bum to show up on the doorstep and say "Welcome to the neighborhood!" Well, in most places anyway.

Also, a custom "shabby/homeless/bum townie" texture is a million times better than eaxis's "shabby/ homeless/bum townie" textures imho.

Oh, how quaint. You still are playing the unmodified game where random bums show up as the welcome wagon instead of actual neighbors.

Well, I have the local walkby hack or whatever it's called. I must admit, the welcome wagons usually consist of one personage. But townies still come 'round to ugly up my houses.
