THANKS THIS IS GREAT

And I've got one more question. The front of the house looks really... bland I guess. I'm assuming it's because the entry is off a hallway, but there aren't any windows on the front face (except one I added for the bathroom), and if I put some in it looks funny because they intersect with stairs and stuff. Totally not an issue as far as gameplay (the only dark room is the little computer room upstairs), but since MTS2 requires a screenshot of the house from the street, should I jazz it up a bit, and if so, how? Tack on some pointless windows? Move the palm tree so it fills more of the dead space? Or does it not really look that terrible and I'm just being over-sensitive?

Consider using a cool stone facade on the left front-facing bits - something to break up the look.

ETA: Also, consider using some sort of edging - there are some great ones out there - to 'finish' the flat jutting-out roof bits. MTS2 has several.

I'm late to the party -- Stupid long-ass process of getting my house listed for sale! -- but, OMG DarkLunaris...I want that hair. Totally. Because that's usually how I wear my hair, only mine's yet a bit longer. When I've got mine in a big fat poofy high pony like that, it's still down to my butt. But that's as close as I've ever seen to my hairstyle. I'm not big on fantasy sims but I am really big on that hair. Smiley DO WANT NOW! (I fear not the polys. *wubs her 4GB of RAM*) Especially if it's in dark auburn. It'd be nice if the auburn had some wee streaks of grey in it, but I know that's probably too much to ask. Wink And I haven't the first clue as to how to recolor, I'm afraid. *sigh*

Also want Nouk's hair. Will get Nouk's hair. Yay for more excessively long hairs!

I agree that it needs something to cover the floor edges, but that would violate the no-CC thing, which I don't want to do. It'd probably be a good idea to recommend them though. Although I can't find them on MTS2 right now. I feel like a complete idiot, but the only ones I can find are from 4ESF.

I'll play around with different walls and lights and stuff on the front. Maybe I'll find something that works.

*edit*

So it turns out there aren't a ton of options with Maxis wall coverings. (Surprise, surprise.) But here's my tentative new front view.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/8364/exteriorfrontv2qh9.jpg

(This is the one I'm less happy with, if you need a reference and don't feel like scrolling up.)

I think it's a big improvement, although admittedly a big part of that was turning it away from the sun. (And turned shadows back on. They were off for the floor plan shots and I forgot to turn them back on for the earlier picture apparently.) I'm not 100% convinced I like the third palm tree. Part of me things it helps break things up, another part things there are too many identical palm trees in the front yard now.

I dunno. What do you guys think?

Twilight is that movie where angsty vampires do each other’s makeup in high school, right? And instead of sunlight exploding them, it turns their skin into body glitter? I’m not judging you, man. That’s a really, really cool thing to enjoy. --Seanbaby

Okay. I know I've been gone two weeks so you may have seen it, and it's not something I made, but do yourself a favor and go to parsimonious and check out the anniversary stuff. For SERIOUS. There's a pirate set, gypsy stuff, vampire/castle build stuff, working hot air balloons and zounds it's awesome. And before y'all ask, no, it's not all floral and paisley. And you want the piratey bar stuff.

Grin OMG the hair is awesome! Ya know, I only entered the banner contest so I might have a chance of requesting something like this. Rose's pay braid is so lame, it's come the closest until now.

The Parsimonous update is amazing too. In fact, it got me moving to install the Sims on my desktop again. My laptop is on the fritz.

Pickles, I love/hate that you gave us that parsimonious update - i downloaded SO much! Shocked My game is soon to explode, I think.

I also grabbed Nouk's hair... I was also wondering if DL's sim with the FANTASTIC hair and lynx ears is up for download somewhere and I just missed it? I checked her MTS2 profile and LJ. DO WANT!

CBonney, the house is awesome! I downloaded it Tongue

It's the first Sims thing I have downloaded in a month! I finally got one of my computers to work!
Thanks MissAngelica and Nouk, thanks to both comments, I got the idea to look inside the machine at the graphics card and realised that my stupid friend put in the WRONG card and did not screw it down properly!
So I fixed it, installed drivers and voila! I am back in business with a Frankestein machine and it's super awesome Tongue Now for him to give me my games drive back...
But other than that, Yay I can Sim again!

and play with Bonney's awesome house! It's perfect!
