Well I'm in the middle, neither concentration camp survivors nor siliconed babes. A bit more would be perfect.

As I said, I generally do sims with a middle fat and a third muscle, so they're not skinny at all! Yet for the breast proportion size well it sucks. The first time I saw my adult female who was gonna take a shower, I felt pity for her and quickly went to grab the nude boobs enhancement at sexysims.
I too totally can't stand this pro-Ana trend, it's awful. Look at the models M.Calero used in his lingerie set, it's frightening. They look sick. And higly silicon guys and gals sims make me puke too. A normal body is all I'm asking for. Bigger boobs but not too much.... Vanilla Sims 2's breast for a middle fat body.

*blinks*  As an artist and a woman, I personally think the breast to body ratio for sims 3 sims is fine.  My own body looks like that.  It's interesting that it is expected now for a woman to have at least a US DD cup size to not be compared with a 12 year old boy.  Screw that, I'll stick with my C's, thanks.  I don't care if people think I'm flat chested or not.  I do agree that we should have a chest slider for more variation though as not all women are the same.

It bothers me a bit that you are exaggerating how the smallest sims look.  To me, the smallest sim looks nowhere even close to a concentration camp survivor or an anorexic.  They are just thin.  A whole side of my family are built like that and they eat as much as I do.

THIS.  Honestly, thanks to bewb jobs becoming more and more the norm, what used to be average to mildly blessed has become "OMG, YOU HAVE NO TITS!"  I'm a C. In High school I was considered a little better than average.  It's ridiculous.

It's also making it so guys think it's their god given right to have a girlfriend with a 21" waist and DD knockers.  I know, such women exist, my mother, in her heyday had a 28" waist and a set of double DD's, but that didn't last very long, and she had to half starve herself dieting to keep the waist there and wear some almost corset like garments to make sure the bust stayed while only the waistline got smaller. I'm sure to some girls it comes natural, but most of the time growing up, if you saw a woman with DD's, or DDD's, she often was at least a bit curvy on the bottom half too.   

Now women are expected to have 21" waistlines, nice rounded "baby got back" butts, and ginormous breasts. 

I think my "favorite" (and by favorite, I mean "Something so horrible it makes me want to puke") new trend are women who get plastic surgery on their vagina because they don't feel it's pretty enough.  Yes, if you're horribly disfigured, then it makes sense but to be, "Well, my lower lips just don't look like they did when I was seven, let's get that snipped" is absolutely crazy.  "I've seen articles with women going, "Oh, I was so embarrassed after the kids, to let my husband see..." Honestly, if my husband ever even suggested I needed plastic surgery for my vagina, he'd never see it again.  "Sorry, don't want to horrify you, so I'll just keep this out of your way." 

For Sims, I think you should be able to make your Sim any way you want, so if you want to make a Sim look like she's carrying two watermellons under her shirt while taking in a HUGE DEEP BREATH at all times, then you should be able to make it.  But on the boards, I snigger at all the women who say, "I want to be able to make ME and I have huge breasts and a tiny waistline and it's allllll natural!  The world's largest convention of women who all are gifted to have perfect bodies and they all play Sims 3.  I strongly suspect there is a lot of, "Well, that's what I WISH I looked like" going on, vs. "This is really how I look."

True.  By the end of the winter, my brother looks like the skinny sim with little to no muscles.  By the end of summer, he's still skinny, but has some muscle tone. The advantages of doing yard/outside construction work.

My problem is a combination of variety issues and the fact that -all- fat sims look the same from behind and are pear shaped.  I mean, I'm well endowed, I've know women who weren't and even some who were more so.  I hate that I can't get anything like my real build, most of my fat is not in my ass, its in my belly, but I still have a waist...I've got curves, and not just in my hips.

And of course, its there for guys too.  Some guys have narrow hips and legs, with broad shoulders, some are built pretty straight up and down, and you can't get anything like -that- either.

I'd like more slider options on sizes for all Sims. But i still wouldnt make too skinny or too overly endowed female sims. I prefer my sims to look natural and like any normal female. In my heyday (im 37 now) i was a size 10(UK) and a 34 F. But now after 3 kids and so many years older im much more curvier (im being polite to myself!) and will never see a size 10 again! In an ideal Sim game id like to be able to change body shape throughout the Sims life span, as very few of us retain our late teenage/early 20's shape. But i doubt that will ever happen.
Im still playing Sims2 and dont have Sims 3 yet (need new p.c) and was looking forward to the new slider options for bodyshapes but there seems to be alot of disappointment with it! But ill wait til i get the game (if i do...undecided still) to see what i think.

Oh, I know.  I was taken in by all the promises of, "Now you truly can create a Sim to be anyone you want."  Nope.  All fat sims look the same, all thin sims look the same.  But, at least it's more variety than Sims 2.  Then you had the choice of "Body builder" or "Body builder with beer belly."  

I heard somewhere that EA didn't want to make it so that breasts could be worked with separately, because then the game would have gone beyond Teen.  I can't though, for the life of me, see how having the option to make a woman's breasts bigger will make the game any more mature than it already is.  But, we are talking the company that said that having women breast feed would push the ratings up too high.  Apparently "woohoo" (sex) is all right, but using breasts as they were intended will just shock and horrify!

Its also complete BS, as I mentioned before.  City of Heros has a teen rating and its got the typical superhero female premise [and tons of lingerie pieces for making your female hero's costume too.  In fact, the only MMO I know of with a mature rating is Conan and that's not just because females can be barechested, but also for the rather realistic amounts of blood and general gore.

I don't think we have one, but on the other hand, I never really checked. When I stopped being able to sleep, I just started taking pills, and now it's kinds screwed up.

The excuse for the rating going up because a more accurate look modifying system is idiotic. The breastfeed issue however is, I think more technical than moral or whatever crap they wanna call it. Why? The adoptive parents in sims. I'm not a specialist, but maybe then AI isn't intelligent enough yet to see the difference between an adoptive sims mother and a natural one. The game treats both the same, and seeing an adoptive mother breastfeeding her adopted kid would look kinda dum in-game. Trying to make the game "see the difference" might simply be too much complicated work for the creators, thus they just left the breastfeeding out.

Your last sentence Darqstar, however brings on also a different subject. Sure, by biology breasts are for feeding kids. But that doesn't mean every woman sees them that way. A lot of women I know, never used their tits to feed their kids and instead used bottles and chemical milk. It was because they personally found that part of their anatomy an element deeply connected with their sexuality and beauty estethics, and "not a bloody fuckin' food factory" as friend of mine put it after having her firts child.

*snickers* When I was young, the chest flab was used as a beauty enhancement, yes. When I had kids, they got put to work as the second of nature's intended functions. Honestly, I'd been a size B or so since I was a 6 + 3, so had gone the whole route of being tortured by the other kids due to my body growing up way before I was ready to, so why shouldn't I use them for something other than making male eyes pop? Now, I'm older and rounder and I don't give a rat's patoot about trying to appear attractive in a sexual manner to anyone other than my husband, and even those days are gonna draw to a close sooner or later. For the main part, all boobs have ever done is get in the way and be a distraction from things I wanted to do, like jogging and archery and horse back riding. Seriously, unless you bind the damn things, they're gonna bounce around like ping pong balls in a dryer and hurt like hell at the end of the day. I'd trade half of the size of said breast material for about six inches of height so I'm not too short to reach the top of the shelf in the closet.

Being quite honest, I just quoted an opinion on the matter that I know exists. My own I don't have, becuase I don't have kids, and I don't plan on having any - I'm not the child type, I'm too lazy, too egoistic, and a lot of other too's. I'm not parent material, simply by bringing a child into the world I'd be hurting it. I'm realistic, it's better not to exist than have a parent like me. As for my boobs, well, for me they're exactly how Paden described them, a pair of lard-balls that distract me from active sports. Wouldn't mind chopping the bloody things straight off.

And as for body sliders - does EA really expect a 12 not to know what's under the clothes?

Hell these days certain 12's even know what to do with whats under the clothes because they have been spoonfed sex on TV, in music and in video games since they were in the cradle because some parents are to self obsessed, job obsessed and inattentive to pay attention the their kids and the TV, Playstation and Stereo become the kids babysitters hence you have 6's and 12's who play GTA, Bully and Leisuresuit Larry, and watch SAWIII, and listen to gangster rap  - and the parents even buy the games, movies and CD's/MP3's for the kide to make them Shut the Fuck Up so they can go back to work, shopping or whatever it is they are doing that does not involve parenting their children.


I know that just sounded rather harsh- I have a 12 year old niece and know a lot of people who are really good parents. But I have worked in customer service for years and have come across more than my fair share of shitty ones to.
