I'm sitting here in a cool house, wearing my PJ's. Just came from outside, where there is a cool breeze and a bright sun. My maple trees are starting to bud their first leaves and the few flower plants I have are in full bloom. I love Spring But because there is a slight sticky heat teasing in the horizon, I can tell we are headed for a blistering hot summer. Australian winters are cold, I didn't bother to check the temperature. But it never goes below 6 degrees Celcius. To me that's bloody cold, although all the tourists say "Pfft, this is not cold". I don't care, it's cold to me. And I wouldn't want to live anywhere where it would be colder. Summer FTW!!! I enjoy cooling down more than warming up, because cooling down is more fun!

Hmmm, sound very much like Belfast, I've only lived in Northern Ireland a few months, but what I've been told is "expect rain, if it doesn't come, that's a bonus," so very true. And just last week, I popped into belfast before I went to college, on my way to a cafe to do some of my assignment, there was a homeless man rooting round in a trash can, someone put something in it, he started screaming at him, and shaking his fist, I tried so hard not to laugh at the scenario. Not out of cruelty, but because it was his screaming, it was high pitched and just sounded very out of place from the Northern Irish accent.

The bums here are famous. There's the screaming bum. All he does is walk around, occasionally shreiking, tongue waggling, etc. There's the young homeless guy who holds a sign that says "I Need a Girlfriend". He's especially fun on Valentine's day. There's the shivering guy. He hangs out around where most of my school buildings are. He'll shiver very dramatically, but ONLY if he sees somebody looking at him. If you can catch a glance of him when he thinks nobody's looking, he's still. There's the BushMan on Fisherman's Wharf. He hides very obviously behind a sparse little tree thing planted in a plastic bucket and jumps out at you. As a tourist, you see him and you think "Oh, how strange", but then he leaps out and you scream cuz you're not expecting some dirty man to leap out at you. A lot of the sane homeless people out here have dogs, but from what I've seen, if they do get money to eat, the dog gets dibs on the first food. They just have them so they're not so lonely, which I can dig. I wish I could have a pet in my apartment.

We have the guy who stands outside of Starbucks and Walgreens on my block at work. Thoroughout the day, he doubles over more and more. Yet when he leaves his "post" he's walking perfectly upright. Then there's this guy (not a bum, I don't think) who hangs out around Foster & Sheridan and tells people he needs a quarter to call Jesus. Oh, and Crazy Mary. She's also not a bum. She rides my bus route a lot, but not at my normal times. She's unkempt but clean and loudly goes on and on about white bastard pigs and rapists, etc, with a healthy dollup of cussing. It seems like one of those involuntary things. I doubt it's Turrets...I've never seen anyone with Turrets that bad. I also suspect her of being the one who periodically posts hand-written diatribes on the electrical boxes and bus stops around home, because the language is similar. One was about how a local coffee shop puts drugs in their coffee and in the cream - THE CREAM! - but the pig police won't listen, something something about Starbucks a mile south of there, all peppered with pictures of a woman talking to police outside a gas station that's no where near either place.
