OK, I said I'd do this a few days ago but I got sidetracked. Here is my eye:

yeah, that's ok that it's blurry.  I don't generally photoskin eyes.  I'll see what I can knock out for you.

You don't have to photoskin, but it's an idea of what you could do. Light eye iris with dark ring around it. Like, light green eye with a dark green ring etc.

Can you even do that? I have no idea how you guys make stuff.

yes, yes I can do that.  lol.  I can do a very light blue with a dark blue ring.  That's actually pretty simple, since it all works in the same color pallette.  I'll probably work a tiny (tiny!) amount of a medium blue in at the pupil as well.  Be back after I work it up.  then you can tell me what you think/critique for improvements. 
Hokay, version one and two.  you tell me what you want different, and I'll fix it up for version three.

@JessMaree:  no problem.  I'll do a Jess Maree eye v. 3 with a darker ring. 

@CookiePirate:  snagged your photo.  I'll do some workups, and then you can tell me what you'd like improved upon.

I don't know how you guys got such good pictures of your eyes. I just tried so hard and failed so badly. Maybe it's because my eyes are pretty dark and you can't really see their color unless you shove a light right by them. But then the reflection of the light overshadows the color. Bleh.
Mine are a dark chesnutty brown around the pupil with a pale, but dark, olivey, grey-ish green around the outer edge, and flecks of a golden brown in between.

Stupid darkness.
