Arr!!! Renegade sims recolors!! I was given permission before recoloring (I was a good pirate and asked)  Cheesy . Anyway I hope all of you like them and download them.

You can find them uploaded on the InSIMs here:
http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=60664

Also the next thing I did was fix this mess of a hairdo of peggy's (This is my first alpha fix) (Still a tad of scalp showing :? ) I did the best I could with it)  Cheesy :

You can download that fix here and also on the Simsfilevault:
http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=60663

Remember I'm still learning

Did you build the mesh? Or do want some advice about the texture? Or both?

It's hard to tell from these pictures because the quality of them is a little low. Take another couple of screenshots from close up, so that it is easier to see the details of the object and texture (and pics of at least a couple of different sides of the object, like back and front, for example). I would recommend that if you want some advice on the meshes to also post an image of the object in the modelling program with the wireframes visible.

Oh noooo. I do not know how to build a mesh file. No that is all her's not mine. As far as textures I think that I lost a little detail and could use help on that. The other one by renegade I love and I think it looks wonderful as is. The Peggy one well it looks better then peggy's version. I use paint.net to edit the colors. So if any help can you kinda instruct it for that.

Ha, ha! I was actually commenting on Smarmy Madeline Grimm's work that was posted somewhere above yours.

Building meshes is an entirely separate skill, so don't think that making textures doesn't take as much skill or is not as important (especially as textures are what makes a thing actually look like the thing that was built). The alpha in the pig tails is quite successful (I'm glad someone is going through and trying to get rid of Peggy's favorite bald spot "technique") and from the front they look quite nice. However, it does look like you lost a little bit of detail in the Peggy re-textures (they almost look a little flat), and the back of the hair look a bit messy (ignoring the bit that you haven't been able to cover up there looks like there may be a bit of stretching). The brown hair looks a bit green as well (although that might partly be due to lighting).

I don't use paint.net, so I don't know how much advice I can give you in relation to that. Generally, I would recommend hand painting in some of that finer detail (hair strands and the like using a very small brush) using a darker colour. As well, see if you can add in highlights to give the hair the appearance of having a shine. Plus, use layers as much as you possibly can (I believe that paint.net has them), they will make changing hues about a million times easier.

Some of these things will be hard to fix depending on how it was originally UVed (the weird back of the hair is more than likely attributable to Peggy, and may be hard to fix), so oftentimes it's a matter of doing as much as you can with what you've been given (especially if you don't know how to UV yourself).

I had not planned on making another set for a while, but was inspired by a Primitive/Folk artist that I enjoy. Her name is P. Buckley Moss. I was browsing her site the other night and saw all the wonderful Halloween/Autumn work she has done, and since I love Halloween and Autumn, I just had to do it.  Wink

I did have to do some streching to cover up scalp. I am definatley not as good as renegade sims that is for sure. I am not even sure I am as good with paint as I really should be to have tackled such a task. It does look better though then that scalp showing. You could also see the wall when your sims was wearing the other one. I plan on punking this one out in a few days.

I have puppies due to whelp tomorrow thru the rest of the week so I plan to be kinda busy watching for them and whelping them. I do everything from tying the cords to drying them off and all the inbetween then I give the pups to their mom. I guess me being a vet tech a while ago. Anyway wish me luck on my new babies. Cheesy Going to be a chocolate/tan longhair dachshund litter and I have a lot of folks waiting for them.

Bigtruckgirl, I love your stuff. At least it's not some minimalist shit/crap.   I made a few work clothes with H&M meshes, but I don't think I should post it here. Instead I stand by the corner worshipping all of PMDB's awesomeness.

I saw this conversion located here:
barbwire's conversion
Make sure you grab those colors too as mine are all punked out.
I then got permission from Barbwire (Hugs to Barbwire for letting me recolor) to recolor his conversions..Yay!! What a sweetie!!

This photo is to show the sides and back. See my red, white and blue recolors...Smiley. Very patriotic I think. I love this black and white recolor (Barbwire's suggestion)

You can find them posted and uploaded here on the InSim:
newest peggy male conversion recolors
Enjoy them!

There's one gray which is included with the black (applies only to binned version). Unbinned version has proper eyebrows. Enjoy! Alpha edit of Maxis mesh, all unnecessary ages removed. (applies only to binned version) Should work with All games.  Teen-Elder ages are included.

I have no idea why the red file size is so big...

Only black pictured, but all colours included.

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I know a lot of people out there have already done recolours of a lot of hairs by Peggy and Rose but I thought I'd have a go at a few myself because I want to learn how and also I like having a few different shades of red in my game. The problem is I'm not at all artistic so I can't actually draw any texture on the hair just use the sliders/curves etc in Photoshop to alter the colours as best I can. I've done these few so far, but I'm not completely happy, I can't tell if they look flat or if it's just because I've tried to tone down the highlights (I think Peggy drastically overhighlights her hairs, some of the black ones look as if they are are grey hair dyed by an extremely incompetent hairdresser) Any advice or comments would be appreciated. I haven't uploaded them anywhere yet because I suspect someone has already done them and I've just failed at searching!

I changed this Peggy hair from purple/blue to black. There's the original on the left then two shots of my recolour.

These are the red hairs that I tried:

This is the one I'm least happy with:

This one actually looks good in the game, I'm quite pleased with it. I often use this style as my sim's PJ hair, for that 'I just got out of bed' look.

They're good - nice colours.  As for the art of drawing hair, I know that Hysterical Paroxysm at MTS2 uses some photoshop brushes.  The ones designed for hair - that way you get strands apparently.  Don't know, myself.  Cheesy

BigTruckGirl - you need to have a site with your paintings - they're lovely.  I like the black & white set, but I loved the second set even more.  I don't know what other work you've done/where to find it, but I'd love to see!  You should definitely put them up somewhere besides MediaFire.
