Your not half right about her misrepresenting all us witches.  That whole blessed be thang is supposed to be something murmured from one witch to another, not slathering it around the place on a public forum, pissing everyone off.  If she wants to announce her religion, wear a pentacle or something subtle like that.  But keep it at that.  Its idiots like that who sully the reputation of Wicca in the eyes of everyone else who consider it to be just a silly hippy New Age thing and not one of the worlds comparative religions.  (On an interesting note, I find it fascinating that there are so many witches on this forum in the first place considering the percentage of Wiccans and Pagans there are world wide in comparison to Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism.)

I don't think it's that strange. From what I've seen, wiccans and most pagans in general are activists by nature. I think this forum attracts people who are genuinely upset at the whole paysite situation and are dedicated to changing it. It figures some of those would be pagan.
I don't think there are that many wiccans in the world though. Millions of 12s wearing black nailpolish and blessed-being until they're blue in the face, but I rarely meet anyone who, to put it bluntly, gets it right and is seriouly dedicated to a religion instead of a fad that pisses off the parents. I met one once who insisted that if you didn't say "Blessed Be" at the end of every conversation you had no right to call yourself a wiccan. Ditto if you didn't wear do-and-so crystals. When I pointed out that Dutch (my native language) has no equivalent of "Blessed Be" and I couldn't afford those crystals, she was well and truly stumped for about ten minutes, after which she  excommunicated me Did I mention she was the High Priestess of a coven of 3 which she founded, none of the members over 15 years old, and called herself Lady Ravenwings?
