Well anyway, more seriously I like to get as many people's views on this stuff as possible *before* any of the policies are set in stone.  This vote is a stepping stone to whether it's the person or the site that is joiining.

Pfft  lol.   I'm glad that there is a discussion about it.  In the end it doesn't matter to me what happens.  I just want to be fair, inclusive, and care-beary.    <.<  >.>

I dont see how paysites can join if their not 100 percent free.

I didn't vote for PAYSITES.  I voted that free sites should be included, regardless if their owners also host or contribute to pay sites.  But that site can't promote the sister pay site in any way, and that site has to be 100% free.

I know you didn't as such, but if the majority of members don't want paysite owners to be members *whether or not* they are trying to join up on behalf of their free site, your idea can't work.  We have no choice but to do at least some assessment of the actual person WRT suitability for membership.

I don't think it's altogether appropriate to bring this discussion here, as there's been talk of not allowing people who are known filesharers be members of the federation.  It should probably all stay on that forum.
