If they were, there were too many TSR supporters for it to take off.

I managed to post.  Said something about joinging the paysite co-operative, where you could get all files with or without donating, and it poofed, gone.

I like the co-operative angle, I might plug that in future, it sounds more friendly.

If paysites can hide behind 'sub' and 'donate', if you can't beat em, and all that jazz.

Well that was quick. One good thing though, all the TSR gushing is gone. :roll:   I posted in a very mild-mannered way over there, only linked to the Better Sims Bureau, and suggested she donate to free sites.

It did make me gag. Someone all excited to be joining her very first paysite, what did everyone advise?

If you bring up file-sharing, you'll probably get banned pretty fast. They have made it clear that they do not want to discuss it.

They don't like me over there.  I am a member of a non-sim board on ezboard and my ez avatar is for that board.  My avatar is not PG-13 and N99 would not approve me over it.  Plus I don't like to pay for the ez-supporter, I tend to get adopted on the other board.  :roll:

Someone posted a new thread saying they finally got enough spare money to pay a sub to a paysite, and asked for recommendations.

The first reply said Peggy.   The next reply said why not consider donating to a free site, or else look at Better Sims.

My reply very politely pointed them to the S2C thread to consider before deciding.

Then there were a couple of posts with different paysites the posters liked.

Tobykat (N99 admin) said TSR was the best, quickly followed by a couple of people agreeing with her.

Pescado posted "PAYSITES MUST BE DESTROYED" and the single message was deleted almost immediately.

Then after a couple more people from here posted, the whole thread vanished.

N99 is sort of like the meeting place for the TSR fan club.  They have little tolerance for anything that could be considered criticism against a web site or creator.  The only thing that surprises me is that JMP had access there.  I guess he fixed that right quick.
