I don't think it would matter if they just changed the word non commercial.  Yes it would allow the site the right to exist legally but it still doesn't change the fact that they could never stop file sharing, as derivative work someone else would always hold the copyright.

Yup she retired from FA status about a month ago (I posted about it here). She stated at N99 that it was due to real life reasons...I would guess that there is more to it then that though

There was a Brazilian site back on The Sims 1 days which had some of the prettiest furniture I've ever seen... they're not around for TS2 although I wish they were. If I recall correctly they were free, but they might have had some donation sets. I can't be sure about it, maybe I just ignored the donation sets as I couldn't pay for them. Also, isn't one of the creators in SimGuys Brazilian?

Cant reveal my source but my contact is on the inside and has said the coconut screenshots are several months old and wont be anywhere near the full thread (look at the atwat avvatar - that has been gone for months since she was burninated.  These shots were taken before then)

Of course they're several months old - they couldn't be posted when new. 

Trust me - its fact (the Content Manager EULA was written by EA immediately after the big bash where T$R was invited but MTS2 were not - that's when it was done) and EA assured T$R it was going to be included in future ep's, but it never happend and no-one now knows what EA is playing at (on either side).  They are chummy with T$R at the top but the newest flavor of EULA is stitching them worse then ever.

A couple of friendly employees - maybe. Chummy with TSR as a company - doubtful.  If they were in fact in TSR's pocket, they wouldn't have changed their EULA to be more strict.  I would also question any information that TSR is putting about about their chumminess - they're biased - and there is less evidence of it since they started revising their EULAs than there was before. As of Apartment Life you have to agree to an EULA to even play the game or install it - it's no longer a Bodyshop popup.

It now says:

1. License Grant and Terms of Use. 

A. Grant. Through this purchase, you are acquiring and EA grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the Software for your personal, non-commercial use solely as set forth in this License and the accompanying documentation. Your acquired rights are subject to your compliance with this Agreement. Any commercial use is prohibited. You are expressly prohibited from sub-licensing, renting, leasing or otherwise distributing the Software or rights to use the Software, except by transfer as expressly set forth in paragraph 2 below.

Furthermore, if you break this, paragraph 5 allows them to terminate your rights to use it.

So their proposed "chumminess with EA" has resulted in more contractual prohibitions on their own actions.
 
I note that they are chatting about using download managers to download the booty and pull on the server, trying to cost more money and bring down the booty.  Good on you TSR - you're as low as we always said you were - congratu-fucking-lations you scum.

Giselle at Fashion show was Brazilian and she had donations before she closed the site, for TS2, to be honest I don't remember if she did for TS1.  77 Simlane too, though I am not sure they are around anymore either.  I suppose it doesn't matter where you come from, there are some who are going to take advantage of the fact that others will pay them for CC.
