Blech!  :roll:  Aren't they the only paysite on the list though? I started to check, but got lazy.

and don't forget...you don't get "invited" because of special contacts...they advertise the fan days, and you say 'I wanna come". TSR, obviously, tries to go to all of them.

Whether TSR was invited or they gatecrashed the gig, EA is still naming TSR as their top Sims fan site. EA likes TSR - that's clear.

So, one of the following must be true:

(1) EA has no idea that TSR runs at a profit (most unlikely)
(2) EA excludes TSR from their EULA
(3) EA doesn't care about paysites and the previous EA 'legal letters' are all crap.

I wish EA would come clean on what they REALLY think.

No, I'm more "Why are all these sites total unknowns *except* for TSR" and in conjunction with the "Top fansite" thing - what, none of the other fansites are even worth it?  It's annoying, yes, but I'm not gonna get that pissed off about the whole thing.  Far as I'm concerned they (EA) don't know what the hell they are trying to do, and don't really care that much about the rest of the community right now.  Perhaps MTS2 annoyed them in some way, but we are one of the driving forces in this community so I'm sure a lot of people are thinking "Huh?" at that Fanday thing...

I'm sure they are too - a lot of people haven't heard about some of the more obscure sites - and are wondering why EA is being so quiet about Bon Voyage.

What I would say is that EA is playing both sides - the letters are undeniable, and EA is keeping all the fan base happy.

Didn't make me very happy.  In fact, if I may vent, I'm getting more and more pissed at EA all the time.  Excluding the largest free FANsite in the whole damn community from FANday just adds to the sludgepile of 'Yuck' I'm feeling towards EA, of which I'm no longer a FAN.

Because TSR was mentioned as one of the best fansites, many misguided people on the BBS have proclaimed their newfound love for TSR.



I threw up all over the thread. I'm not sure why I still go on the BBS. I guess I'm hoping that one day all of the little chilluns will disappear and it will become an intelligent forum. I have too much hope for it, I suppose.

I was just completely floored by it.  I mean whenever I have been in ANY forum and someone asks "Where can I find?"  99% of the time MTS2 is the first place they are directed to.  Rarely have I seen anybody direct to TSR simply because it is pay.  I hadn't even heard of the majority of the other sites that were listed either.  And of course everybody on the BBS is finding a new found love of TSR now.  EA said they're the "top" fansite and whatever EA says is golden to them.

And if it's any consolation to Delphy and the rest of the MTS2 crew I did suggest to them that if they really feel they need to have a "top fansite" MTS2 is a much more deserving contender than TSR.

I'm sending a letter too.  I know it probably won't do much good, but this really pisses me off.  They go on and on in their letters that paysites are illegal.. and then endorse the biggest one right on the website.  Excuse me, but what the fuck?

Well, I'd email them if I could find the email address to send it to. I'm probably missing something obvious, but I'm pretty sick today and a bit out of it.
