But why is he telling you this story if he does not wish you to laugh AT something? Laughing "with" is a meaningless term. It is much like "allying with". Without an ENEMY, an alliance is meaningless. You ally WITH someone AGAINST something else, which may be undefined, but still is assumed to exist: Otherwise, it is meaningless. Such is the emotional lack of definition of the child with Aspergers - they don't gauge reactions well, nor do they anticipate reactions, or think about what reaction they might want. He may not intend it to be a funny story, or he hasn't considered at all how others will see that story. They don't understand social cues. It's not just about not understanding social cues. It's also not knowing that they even exist! I didn't know it was rude if you don't say "hi, how are you?" (aka small talk) as you pass by people you know. (Oh and honestly telling someone that you're doing crappy is inappropriate apparently.) I didn't know it was rude to not look people in the eye when talking to them. For the rest of the population, this stuff is a given. They pick it up while growing up without even knowing it but somehow I didn't and your son didn't. It gets better if you're willing to take the lumps and learn from them. The alternative of withdrawing into yourself and shutting the world out leaves a lot to be desired in my experience. I still don't fully understand why people react illogically but I know well enough to not tell them that they're being illogical! I still think honesty is the best policy even if the truth is hurtful, but I've found myself lying in the recent years because I've become weary of the f drama bomb. I don't like it at all but I do understand now where there are times when fibbing could be considered necessary. I prefer to say nothing at all if I can and often do. I appreciate you talking to your son the way you do, Calalily. I would of loved for someone to have done the same for me! It would of saved me and everyone around me some grief. |

The pod person comment wasn't aimed at you. It was at Devilfish and.. just reskimmed the thread and it's really just at Devilfish. For some reason I was thinking it was two people acting off, thus pod people. So yeah, grow a thicker skin or just call me an ass. Either will work out fine.
Look, since it was directed at me anyway and nothing productive is happening by discussing it on loop, can we put this behind us and move on please? I think we all agree with the basic idea anyway. I'm starting to wonder if some of you have been replaced with pod people with all this talk of we shouldn't have a backup of coconut's screens on the pmbd server. I don't think anyone objects to a back up on the PMBD server. The objection is to post the journal only here. Post it only here? Who said that? I didn't say that. Pescado didn't say that. Coconut gave his/her permission for it to be reposted anywhere and I thought we should take his/her offer. MOAR BUTTHURT! And no one objected to a backup of the journal here either. I really don't feel all that strong about this, especially since I'm not the one making decisions, so ultimately I don't really care that much what happens. The idea for me was to stop this people from going "Oh no, that's from PMBD, it's probably all doctored."
There's a lot of resentmenttowards this forum going around and I just thought it would be a shame if people would be put of from reading those things just because it's hosted by us. Then again, there will always be sheeple and I'm not that good at anticipating people's reaction, so who knows?
Try thinking of it this way. The people that would lie to themselves and say that the screens must be doctored probably wouldn't embrace our side's POV with their current state of mind, so it doesn't matter anyway. I think it's a moot point. Many previous sheeples have seen the light over the years so I think they're still worth reaching out to, even if it takes them a while to really listen to what we have to say. |

I wasn't saying I support not having a backup, that would be stupid, especially now that they're actively trying to close it down. I was saying that it's good to have this information coming from someone who officially has no ties to PMBD and posts in a completely different place. Totally different things. I get what you're trying to say, but it still sounds just as pod peopleish to me. Coconut doesn't have any "official" ties to PMBD and we're still involved anyway because of how often Coconut has posted tidbits to us in the past on this phorum. There being no bias can't exist. MTS2 is cliqueish, they approve anything from people that belongs to their clique and reject from people who donīt belong to their clique, no matter the quality and no matter if are pay itens in the screenshots. If you post questions at the support area they will copy and paste their rules page and lock the thread. Been there, done that and got 4 threads locked and HP telling me to shuddup.
Since MTS2 is a free site - despite the fact that not-so-retired Delphy is always asking for donations, what put me in doubt if we really could consider completely free because a lot of people donate but the site is 50% of the time offline and have a slow slow traffic - I am not going to extend myself too much but I think these points should be considerated specially for those who donate to the site. I donated once myself but I will never made this mistake again, in fact I removed all my stuff from MTS2 because I donīt like what I see going on there.

There's so much bullshit in your post that I hardly know where to begin. 1) People need to not put payshit in their screenshots in the first place! This is not a new rule. The mods don't have time to hold your hand through everything and shouldn't have to. They're volunteers and don't get paid to put up with all that they do. They also shouldn't be expected to know what all the payshit looks like. In regards to 1, what dani is saying is that some paystuff in photos does get through, and there are still photos around the site with paystuff in them, especially with some popular creators. It gets frustrating for someone who has half a vase in a picture that shouldn't be when there still pictures with paystuff prominently displayed, or they run into roadblocks over some stuff that has been free for a while. I've seen pics well after the new rule with paystuff in it, and it was usually a talented creator. And there are a lot of issues people have with MTS2, but I won't really go into it here, because we're pro-free and we don't talk about the quality of free stuff. I do know why Dani gets angry about MTS2 like she does. The rule has its problems and isn't as enforced as well as it could be, but it isn't my or your problem. Why be upset about it? Letting yourself get angry over a free website reeks of 12ness to me. I have issues with MtS2 too, but at the end of the day, it's Delphy's site. He chooses to do things differently than I would and that's okay. I don't always agree with what Pescado and Nouk/Jessica decide to do either. It's just the way it goes. |
