Title: Freesite Creation Finds - Round THREE - The Sims 3
Post by: dusdeedawn on 2009 August 24, 20:06:18
There are a lot of great free sites out there and now that The Sims 3 is getting a lot more custom content (so quickly!), it makes sense to have a thread especially made for free TS3 shinies.
SO POST SOME PRETTY AND FREE TS3 CREATIONS!

Not to be too picky- but the title of the thread is misleading! I just know that even with your post, sooner or later someone's going to post TS2 stuffs here. ;)

Well, that was why THREE was all, you know, THREE. :) But yes, I quite see your point. Will change.

An update for the ladiez:

(http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/5479/blueoih.th.jpg) (http://img29.imageshack.us/i/blueoih.jpg/)
An eyeshadown with 3 colors at Gos for you to customize as you want! (2 above the eyes, one below) http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=14210.0

And a nifty thing: demarbleized bangles! EA's bangles have a fixed texture of marble that you could only vaguely recolor. Now as you see on the pic, you can put light colors and patterns on these new ones for a total change of look! Infinite looks and colors for a tiny file of 3,20Ko (I'm not kidding!)

Great find on those bangles! I rarely, if ever, used them, but I will now.

Now, to stick my hand in the fire, I'd like to recommend a visit to Holy Simoly (http://www.holysimoly.com/index.cfm?go=home.welcome) to see what can be done with the game's own resources in terms of creating truly beautiful Sims. For those who think you have to settle for homogeneous puddings without custom skins, eyes, brows, makeup, hairs, etc., you really should see what can be done in the hands of a master.

Yeah, I know, technically they're a paysite because of the donation packs, but I make an exception for Holy Simoly. So, go ahead and throw your punches, I've got plenty of Dr. House's rum left to deaden the pain.  :P

You've made it clear that you don't care what we say, but let me ask you this: How is that in any way helping our cause?
You may as well say "I don't care if a site is pay, so long as they make things that I  like."
There are plenty of sites out there with that attitude, and you very well know that this is not one of them.
I've half a mind to delete this thread.

Don't be a douche.

And yet how many of you squeeed deep inside when some of their stuff for Sims 2 was made repository by HL because it would take up less space in your download folders? I'm just saying.

The title says, "Freesite Creation Finds".  Holy Simoly isn't a freesite!   >:(

ETA:  I don't have their payshit in my game so I don't even know the set you are referring to Paden.

My question still stands. People still admit to liking the content they find there, still squee when there are recolours or like what HL did. And, they have SAID IT, so... whatever.

Well, one free site that I've been a giant fan of for TS2 has begun creating some really gorgeous stuff for TS3. My current favorite is this tunic top for women:

I don't think anybody is questioning the quality of Holy Simoly's stuff nor are they judging HugeLunatic (or anybody else) for adding to Holy Simoly sets/recoloring their meshes. The problem is El Diablo posted Holy Simoly stuff in a thread titled "Freesite Creation Finds" and Holy Simoly IS NOT a free site.

Agreed. The quality and preference to their content isn't what was in question. It's more of a situation of their a paysite, and we are paysites must be destroyed. If any other paysite content was posted people would have ripped Diablo a new hole.

Not to mention he even stated that he knew that posting that could potentially get him an ass chewing and did it anyways. I'm sorry, but if anyone wants to chew him up, have at it.

If I do recall, I remember a conversation on here once where it was discussed that even if someone thought a paysite creators work was decent, it wasn't to be mentioned here. Mainly because this site is all about destroying paysites, and doing so, only offered them free advertising. Besides that, I normally like HS stuff, but do not like those sims. As someone metioned earlier, they look like the exact same sim with minor tweaks to their eyes, lips, and hair color.

Now this next sim is very well made:

I don't know why but I've had a weird thing for big noses. I didn't really like them in sims 2, but in sims 3, their face just looks more "normal."

I want to make some promotion to some small free sites, so... Bangles attack! All fully recolorable and don't replace anything.
(Gah! Using bangles as a bait to make you discover these sites, that's so lame ;D)

The first model has 2 big bangles at Sims3Boutique here: http://www.sims3boutique.com
(http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/6898/sims3boutique58e66wik63.jpg)

The second has 3 bangles with a bigger size for the lowest bangles, available in a tiny russian site http://lenna.okis.ru/accessory.html If you want to check the rest of the site, use a translator for the menu. She seems to love making shoes, I've tested some they're fully recolorable and some are really nice! (I finally found Adidas shoes for my females Yay!) Ah yeah, the shoes meshes are tossed with the clothes meshes in the 'Clothing' category. 'Styles' seems to be clothes recolors.
(http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/6458/1251271061kdtb4gs9sv.jpg)(http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6428/screenshot86.th.jpg) (http://img365.imageshack.us/i/screenshot86.jpg/)
Edit: The pic is crappy so I uploaded my CAS model showcasing it with an awesome top and jeans from AllAboutStyle :P http://www.all-about-style.com/Sims3adult_fecatop.html. Top pattern available at MTS here http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=364690

The third one is a new mesh: a beaded bracelet! Available at GRAT here: http://www.toolregame.com/forums/thread-433.html This one requires a registration but it's fast and the site is filled with a TON of meshes (piercings, bags, earrings, necklace, clothes, etc). Frankly it's worthy! Plus they're super nice fellas :)
(http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/4637/beadednecklaceupload1.th.jpg) (http://img366.imageshack.us/i/beadednecklaceupload1.jpg/)
Latest mesh posted at GRAT is a decorative laundry machine.

Wow, Sigmund, great find on that AAS tunic. They've come up with several dynamite new clothing meshes, and I'd also invite you to check out their TS3 shoes: http://www.all-about-style.com/Sims3accessories.html (http://www.all-about-style.com/Sims3accessories.html)

I can't wait for them to figure out how to create new meshes for their famous Victorian and other themed styles. I have one entire Sims 2 game that contains almost nothing but AAS clothing.

Yes, it's corrected now. Site was down yesterday, I even started to worry and asked about it in 'ask a pirate'.
The beach shacks are really nice, I may even install the lot. The idea of making it a community lot is even more interesting, people roaming it would make it a lively place. When we'll have swimmable beach it'll be even more useful, it'll become the place where all beach goers will have a lunch and a shower during the long day of tanning and swimming. In the meanwhile, it'll be a nice shelter for homeless sims :P

EDIT: Weeee! The male dreads hairs we were waiting for at Gos have been released! Totally awesome!

Just as forewarning about the braid though, the highlights/roots/tips wasn't built properly on the braid. From the look of it, it seems like they had the purpose of the green/red hues mixed up. So whatever color you set the tips as, it would look like highlights all over the braid, and not sure what happens when you set the highlights.

Thanks muchly for that link, dstar. I didn't know about that site. It doesn't sound, though, like some (if not most) of the hairs work very well in the game, and Cazy's abandoned the effort, as she states in a sidebar:

"some hairs are experimental don't share to many peoples (forums, etc.) / (some hairs may not upload for some reasons: scale, through face, flaws, etc. there are many hairs not passed, sorry for any problems on the hairs i cannot fix it or too tired there are many things makes me don't want to do any conversions one are most of them are failed), i'm off to try something on another games, thank you for visiting."

So I'm going to try some in the game but I'll try not to be too disappointed if they don't work, or don't work on particular Sims.  :( We're all still learning.

Turns out the one I liked (the red, in the elf ears pic) is a converted Peggy donation hair (ick), but it looks pretty good on the elf :) so I'll give it a whirl.

She really should remove the "I'm quitting for now" as it's an obsolete news from when her previous graphic card melted :P , it's been 2 weeks she's uploading hairs every day ;D
Anyway don't worry about her hairs, they're of the best conversions you could find: she must be the only converter I know that keep working on her hairs again and again endlessly to continually make them better and correct flaws. She's really my favorite converter. However watchout for some of her hairs (anything wavy like) as they're high polys: use Delphy's CTU to check the polys (click on the 'Design' tab, the hair mesh will appear in 3D on the right with the number of polys) and if it's like 8k or more untick the random option in the 'Category' tab, click 'Commit' in the lower right and finally 'Save as' in the menu. Plus all her hairs can be compressed with the s3rc, which is cool.

The other one that is really good is Kristan Thyme. She only posts at MATY but her hairs looks wonderful in game. She pays attention to detail and will not release them until they meet her satisfaction. She has hairs that she has posted pics of in the hair conversions thread in the Pudding Factory that she has yet to release because she feels they aren't good enough. The Sims Community needs more creators like her and Cazy who are willing to perfect work before release or fix what is wrong when they notice it.

Don't know if anyone here is aware, but this blog (http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/) keeps track of a huge amount of CC that goes up around the community. They introduced me to Cazy's conversions, which are some of the best, and as such I love them. 95% of the content they feature (if not more-- I saw a Peggy pay hair once or twice, if that) is from free sites, many of them that's I'd never found before, and some of it is really awesome.

Hen Weather Vane from Seasons
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,538/

Grand Piano from Bon Voyage wasn't it?
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,536/

Base Game Piano
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,535/

Open of Business Cash Register
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,512/

Pen Reward from Seasons
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,455/

Deco, the BV bear and Dragon Statues and the M&G Fairy
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,437/

Hanging swords from BV
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,428/

Two small statues from BV and one from Free Time I think it was
http://sims.mixei.ru/component/option,com_jdownloads/Itemid,20/task,view.download/cid,426/

I have not tested these in game so I don't know what they look like. I don't really see many people getting the piano because it doubt it really would work, and the cash register would just sit there unused, but people may want them just to have them.

Woot! Thanks for all these links guys! :D

For the odd accessories fans I found the real creator's site of the elf ear and there's another model waaaay better:
(http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/5311/elfw.jpg)(http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8036/pumkin.jpg)(http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/7756/sample266.jpg)(http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4259/sample265.jpg)
Nice elf ears, nope? According to the translator it's for all ages, males & females like the first model. The second pic is a funny accessory for Halloween fans. Child to adults, males & females. They're both based on earrings so your sim cannot wear earrings at the same time. Get them here: http://4thimpact.sakura.ne.jp/SnakeLegs/CAS/cas07.html
The last pics are for the lulz, cutest child boots I've seen :D They remind me of the Sims 2 costume shoes. If you're interested, they're for males & females and have another design of frog ^^. They're here: http://4thimpact.sakura.ne.jp/SnakeLegs/CAS/cas05.html#2
The site portal is here: http://4thimpact.sakura.ne.jp/SnakeLegs/index/download.html it's all in japanese but all the navigation menus are in english so it's okay.

i made a new sims 3 downloads site.
I suck at making things so please be nice  ;D
the site is:
www.lasimdesigns.yolasite.com
i will upload more soon, most likely houses, ready made sims, and patterns, though i am trying to make objects, hair and clothes... trying

Ikandak - This is the wrong thread to post that.  The finds thread is for excellent, cream of the crop free community stuff, not for promoting one's own work (even if excellent).  If you have not posted in the Introductions thread yet, then you can post info about yourself there, or put a link in your sig.  Everyone starts out as a beginner.  If you feel you'd like to improve, MTS has excellent tutorials and forums for questions and critique.

edit: Or you can post in Look What I Made and Om Nom Nom It.  Duh, I should have thought of that first.

lol, I'm scared to see what my Mods folder will look like by December, I already have 1.01 GB of CC, excluding store crap, which makes up about another about 500 MBs.

But I am glad to say a few weeks ago I got my Sims 2 CC down. Including everything that is in the folders in in my Program Files, and counting all the store, converted stories, and pre-order stuff I got from MATY, I now have 18,388 items of CC, and I think that is good seeing as I had somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 items of CC before I did the purge. :)

Post by: rum nate on 2009 September 19, 05:16:43
657 MB of that 1 GB is clothing. I thought patterns were going to be my downfall when we starting getting them, but I have downloaded like 1 maybe 2 patterns since July, and I only have 76.8 MB of patterns. I'm going to eventually need something like Delphy's Download Organiser, that is what helped me get my Sims 2 downloads down so much, but I would love for a plug in on it where you can view an image of the file, because a lot of the file names, especially for patterns, don't give a good enough description of what the file is, so it makes it hard to go through and delete things, since we can't delete from in game.

Post by: dstar on 2009 September 19, 13:00:02
Most of mine has been trying out and testing furniture as new meshes come out- what I have kept is mostly Mango Sims stuff and clutter, lots of clutter. I have under a GB because I don't like most of the clothes that are coming out right now -other than a few things from Oepu and AAS I have not really downloaded clothes- most of the women's clothes make them look like sluts, and most of the stuff for men, children and toddlers is t-shirts, so I am avoiding clothes for now. I also have a ton of hair mostly for testing purposes. I don't bother with patterns- most of them require the use of the Launcher and use TS3W which I want nothing to do with- blechh.

Title: Re: Freesite Creation Finds - Round THREE - The Sims 3
Post by: Dr House on 2009 September 19, 15:31:31
EA's stuff is installed with the launcher so I don't know exactly, but I didn't install all their clothes and hairs. Didn't install what looked silly or useless (as an example of silly is the so-called spike hair for males Duh) But I did install all their furnitures even if not my style 'cause furniture is too scarce for me being a previous download-whore-with-bloated-sims2 lol

But for installed packages I have 650mo. No too excessive I guess :P It includes a hundred megs of patterns - so useful - and the rest is hair, clothing and furnitures/objects. What is cool is that the loading time haven't really changed apparently with all that shit. Maybe 15 seconds more, don't know.

EDIT: A find you could easily miss: Parsimonious uploaded a truckload of meshes - all female for now - clothing, shoes and hairs! So I really wanna advertise these:
A maid hair with a really beautiful maid tiara:

A witch's hat for all the witches and/or Halloween fans! Now that's groovy :)

I've been looking everywhere for an elegant 50's hat, I'm so glad I finally found it :D

And they're all fully recolrable and patternable! Thank you for all your updates Kate :-* Grab 'em here: http://www.parsimonious.org

Delphy wants testers for a new set of CAS sliders, Female Breast sliders. The sliders included are:
- Breast Depth
- Breast Distance
- Breast Fullness
- Breast Scale
- Breast Vertical

Link Here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=371693

ETA: I just got done playing around with the new sliders and I have to say, they are wonderful. The only problem is some clothes look odd when you mess with the breast shape and size, and one of the sliders for jaws no longer works. I have to take one of the breast sliders out (I think its vertical Delphy said in the thread) because Delphy is trying to figure out what is causing that, but other than that they are great. Below is a pic of a sim, as skinny and with as little muscle mass as possible, but with adjusted breasts:

Why am I not surprised that breasts are the first to get sliders  ::). But it's still a good sign -- can you slide men's chests as well? How small can you make the breasts? Hopefully soon we'll see hip and waist sliders at the least.

They will come from the idiots who think it is a fun idea to slide the boob sliders all the way up and then upload the Sims for submission. Besides the creator of CBB will probably keep her up and tweak her bodymesh so it is bigger than the highest setting on Delphy's Boob Slider.

Yeah, as wonderful as having breast sliders are, it will be a matter of time before the big breasted sims come out, just like the phallic and breasted monsters from Spore.  At least EA is doing a good job of banninating those monsters from the ingame share system.

The sliders do show up for men, but they do not work. Delphy is going to look at taking them out for men.

As for size, I'm not sure if it is because I had awesomemod set to allow 3xs the normal limits or its just how Delphy made them, but I can give my sims giant torpedo watermelon breasts and all the way down to what looks like the breasts are just a shrivel of skin that is twisted up. With depth I can make them torpedo like, or you have have giant holes in the sims chest. Distance you can have the breasts meshed into one giant one, or spread out like wings. And with vertical you can have really really droopy or way to high up the chest.

*Whew* Emergency diverted then.  :D I truly do want the breast sliders. BUT I am absolutely petrified that I am going to see townies spawn with breast the size of Trogdor himself. I think I read that he made it so that townies don't spawn with them, but I am still very cautious. Not to mention I don't want a spawn of my puddings to pop out fully developed with ZZZ sized breast at 14 either. I will probably hold off until it's fully working and released to see if theres a way to limit the sizes.

Yes, I would love if townies could be limited to a range from A to about EEish. I'd be fine with my own sliders being limited to that as well.

I hope shoulder sliders come out soon too.

Agreed. I would maybe only go as far as D-DD, mainly because I could see it now... a sim spawned at the farthest left on the skinny scale that the game allows, and then some, with EE breasts. I know some people actually do look like that, but it just seems like it would be... painful I guess the word would be. My ideal sliders though are for height, waist, hips, leg thickness, and maybe even arm length. I have been dying ever since sims 1 to have sims of differing heights without cheats and weird wonkiness.

In other news... ever seen lemoncandy's awesome plants!?!? (http://linna.modthesims.info/download.php?t=372563) I <3 me some lemoncandy. And don't forget Aikea's new default replacement eyes. (http://www.clubcrimsyn.com/ts3/index.html) Even comes packaged with new replacement teeth! Only downside is that the teeth won't work if your current default skintones have the teeth replaced anyways.

Delphy has given an update about how custom sliders will work. He has found out that it is hard coded into the game code that there can be up to 20 sliders per tab, so 20 for eyes, 20 for mouth and ears, and so on. So that will very much limit what sliders people can put into the game, especially if EA decides to create new ones in EPs. The other thing though, apparently it is possible to add new tabs for sliders, but that isn't something Delphy wants to get into right now.

He also said in the post that he is working on other sliders, including height and butt. In the thread for testing the breast sliders I'm pretty sure he also said he is working on waist sliders.

That artsy clutter is so cute, I'm going to have to move my sims just to give my artist a little studio of her own :D

Some really sweet clutter is here:

I love the umbrella stand, its the cute finishing touches that make the game complete for me. I think that site is free, I've not seen a donate button or anything of that nature but I don't speak whatever language that is either lol

Also, talking of ugly chairs in the other thread I went on the hunt for a new bar stool, I don't have any but the fugly EA ones and found this gorgeousness:

I've been too busy to play Sims 3 (*cough* too busy with WoW, that is).  I was wondering if anyone had tried out the new couch at SimsArtGallery?  It looks lovely, so I was wondering how it was in-game.

It's too bad bar stools are almost purely decorative because sims have this overwhelming reluctance to ever use them under any circumstances, and pretty much NEVER for, say, DRINKING AT A BAR.

Maybe its because I always max out free will but mine use the bar stools over the dining table, it annoys me because they always end up chatting over their shoulders :/

I am so in love with that sofa. Thought I had a good angle on the one pic of my family's livingroom, but will have to take another pic. It colors real nice in game.

I haven't noticed any of his houses lacking a toilet, even if he was forced to stick it in the basement.  It's really hard to build small houses with more than 1 bedroom for a newly made sim -- if you are trying to save a little money or a little room, having your sims use the kitchen sink is a good compromise.  While I don't download houses, I have really been impressed by Plasticbox's creativity in cramming everything in.  Not to mention that his houses always have some neat touch with their roof or a neat little alcove, or something.

Despite the lack of sinks it is a lot easier to start a legacy challenge with one of qBuilderz or Plasticbox's starters than ye typical bare stonewall with a sink, toilet and shower attached a a bed just lying on the lot

Hi guys, been away for a bit and just getting caught up. Major thanks for the buzz on SimsArtGallery (http://simsartgallery.net/), I snapped up the Bellini Living Room and several gorgeous paintings. The Anemone White set (first pic under "Better Late than Never..." about halfway down the page) is awesome! I'd post a pic but Photobucket's being uncooperative at the moment.

Also, fabulous news about Nouk's return! Sims 3 still sucks in comparison to Sims 2, IMO, but thanks to the community it's starting to get a little more interesting.

It's really not THAT difficult.  Of course, that is the challenge of building a starter home: providing as much value as possible with a very limited amount of funds.

A big part of Plastic Box's schtick is building 2 story starter homes with a split staircase.  However, those staircases waste a lot of space and money (as do basements).  Also, I question whether it really is a starter when it is built on a small lot, and one has to purchase a larger lot to use it in game.

But the question really is: would you buy a house with bathrooms which did not have a sink?  Or one where the only toilet was in the basement?

Maybe a better use of available funds would be to buy the damn sink (and the space to put it in)  and not that extra tree to prettify the place.

I would. I love Plasticbox's houses and I use them in my game. Of course, I understand we are talking about the game not the RL, right? But even so, sometimes it's not such a bad thing to buy a house which lacks some things and then change them in the way you like it. I could suffer going down to the basement if I knew it was a matter of time and I would have money soon to change.
To be honest, I always find something I'd like to see my way ( even in very expensive lots ) - we all have different tastes and it is very difficult to make something that would please everyone.

Buy a larger lot?  What for?  Room to expand the house later?  Why not just move?  If there's no room for an outdoor pool or soccer net, that's fine with me.  I do a lot of community skilling.

Title: Re: Freesite Creation Finds - Round THREE - The Sims 3

Why buy a bathroom sink when your sims don't use it?  They don't wash their hands after using the toilet.  Not without a hack anyway (this may have changed in TS3).  plasticbox usually has 2+ skilling objects on the lot, which a lot of people who build starters don't.  Because there too busy making the house too large on too big a lot to be a proper starter.

Title: Re: Freesite Creation Finds - Round THREE - The Sims 3

My Sims with a Neatness trait always wash their hands after using the toilet, but I've never noticed the others doing it. Still, my aim in creating my Sims' homes is to make them as realistic as possible, and that means a sink in the bathroom and a sink in the kitchen, even if they're slobs who never wash their hands and they don't use the kitchen sink because they have a dishwasher. After all, dishwashers break, and you might have a neat-freak guest who'll throw a fit if they can't wash up after toidy.

You know, I'm not always keen on things that people post here as pretties, just because they aren't my style.  But I do appreciate the work and skill that went into making them.  This thread isn't "let's pick apart something created by a free creator just because it isn't quite to our taste."  MTS has a LOT of lots uploaded and, at least in my opinion, Plasticbox is one of the best lot creators.  You say don't make it a little prettier by adding a tree, just add the bathroom sink that none of the sims use autonomously and that has the same interactions as the kitchen sink.  I say, leave out extraneous items to make the house a little prettier so my sims are happier living there.  And I think the split staircases are cool and I really wish that EA would allow us to stack foundation tiles to make it easier to make them.  It's a matter of taste.  And regardless of whether or not his/her houses (or any items) are to your taste, given that there is nothing wrong with the playability of the lots and they are from a free creator, I don't really see where you get off being so critical.

There are houses in real life that have small bathrooms that don't have a sink in them. Usually what it was is the builder had a small amount of space and decided to stick a toilet in there and slap a door on it and call it a bathroom, anyone using it could go to the kitchen to wash their hands.

Why buy a bathroom sink when your sims don't use it?  They don't wash their hands after using the toilet.  Not without a hack anyway (this may have changed in TS3).

Sims with the neat trait always wash their hands after using the bathroom. Others may from time to time, but it is rare. I've got a hack that makes everyone wash their hands after using the toilet except for sims with the sloppy trait.

Sorry to bust your bubble love, but all the house's in my town in the South of England all have a toilet on it's own and a separate bathroom with sink and shower/bath. So yes, that is real life :P

Well, I didn't actually think there was anything that controversial about bringing up Plasticbox. ;) For the record, my grandparents' house used to have two separate mini-bathrooms, one with a toilet and sink, the other with a shower/bathtub. I think it's just kind of a quaint building style.

And in other news, if you're looking for some art to decorate all those adorable Plasticbox lots you downloaded, BabaYaga just uploaded some really great Simlish Vintage Fruit Ads at MTS. Definitely worth checking out.

I'm not getting those posters, but I have everything else Baba Yaga. Her stuff is quite awesome. ^^

Also, as for PlasticBox, I have downloaded all her lots. They work quite well, though I ended up moving out of the one  was using when I was too stupid to figure out how to adjust roof heights of different angles on my own. I tried very hard, but failed. I know the trick now... but it's hard to cram a 13 sim household into a Plasticbox lot, and.. well.. that 'family' (none of which are related save two brother/sister pairs) has grown. Now I'm using a self-modified version of another MTS lot, that I will also recommend.

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=365886

It's very playable, the rooms are fairly large, but it's easy to move a few walls around. I also quite like the Japanese-style bathroom.

Oooh, new curtains.  I have been waiting for curtains to start being made.  I love simple curtains and EA never gives us those.

Snagged the curtains.  According to the creator, they are fully recolorable with no pattern distortion.  Can't wait until I have time to try them.  Love curtains.  Hate that EA gave us so many curtains with crap on them and so many that are only designed to fit one type of window.

The curtains pictured I have in my game and are very very nice.  There is no pattern distortion.  I wish the curtain rod was thicker/more ornate, but that is just personal preference and I love them all the same.   The sheer ones are very nice as well.   I would love to see some roman blinds done this well that are free.  I'll admit, I'm a curtain junkie.

Desdren is definitely doing some awesome creating on her blog. I love that site.

For those that have problems with blue lots in your hoods after patching your sims 3 game to 1.7/2.2, Delphy had identified the problem and created the BlueLotObjectFixer (http://linna.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=381540) tool to fix .package files.  It was created for authors of those creations, but I have used it on known objects that would blue lots and tested them, those .package files now work. No blue lots!

At least not now.

Yes the App does fix the objects.  As a creator, I have to highly recommend that you contact any creator with problematic packages so that they can fix them.  If the creators don't fix them and all the downloaders are then I think there is going to be an issue as time passes.  Which is going to lead to more help issues, which I don't want!  :P

Knowing what the fixer does (as obviously I was discussing the bluelotting at length with Delphy which is what led to the tool and the s3oc fix) there should not be a problem caused by players fixing their own packages provided they have some modicum of competence to follow instructions.  Delphy is concerned I think that people will start doing bizarre things and then expect him to help sort them out.

However it is absolutely correct to let all creators know about the fixer, and that they should redownload s3oc and s3pe if they use them.

Seriously all you have to do is click open and point. It took me 4-5 mins to my entire folder. I thought "how difficult was that?" then I went and read some comments, nuff said. Anyway, some people are saying that all their paintings were sketchy. I had almost none with problems, my wonkies were for most part furniture and cars.

New Set by Awe Sims. The Cleopatra Daybed (3 colour channels, in the sofa section), made in the 1950’s by Auping, a custom fit blanket (one colour channel, with new Awesims patterns as a default, in misc decor), 2 sets of throw pillows (3 colour and 2 colour channels, in misc decor), and a very low hanging George Nelson Saucer lamp (3 colour channels, in ceiling lights).

That's a really nice find, Witchboy. I'm running TS3 on a laptop, so, I'm only allowing myself a few cc hair files. That it very tempting though.

Necromancy FTW!
I'm finally back with WA, HELS and all the patches... BTW don't hesitate to merge and compress your packages, the result is amazing and it's really easy as abc. You can stuff up your game without worrying.

Cannot resist posting that Awesims set, high design spotted! That chair totally blew my mind when I saw it plus I have a similar table IRL :P

Grab the shinies here: http://awesims.sixty-ten.net/2010/01/02/awesims-easy-living-set-for-the-sims-3/
The only problem is that mediafire is broke today and I cannot even grab the previously posted daybed or this set here *sic*
Edited for missing words lol

WB- Dr. House- don't be afraid to grab Pescados FPS limiter from MATY either - really solves some of the slowdown issues- not patched to the latest patch yet though- waiting til I get HELS . I have all of Sixtens stuff in game it is amazing

Thanks dstar :)
Can you give me the link for the FPS limiter? 'Love geek tools!... I don't need it but you never know. Since the mergings my game is running like a vanilla base game without CC. Merging my stuff magically repaired the patchings' excessive loading time and lags.
I let the installer make all the patching since installing both add-ons and their needed patches weren't throwing any errors, which is very lol. In fact the only problem I had was the burminated Riverview but I repaired the mess. The game doesn't seem more broken than before, didn't see anything odd or nasty and I'm heavily playing Riverview by constantly switching to play all the families. Game didn't explode yet and is going at the speed of light despise all the store and my CC so I'm a happy camper.

It is in the same thread as the 3Booter in Reply #1 http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15585.0.html (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15585.0.html)

I also have some shinies to show off . You know Studio 8-3-3 the Asian creators that do all of the great Sims 2 clutter meshes over at Niaolong's forum Easter Egg? They have started converting for Sims 3

Garden Lunch Set http://niaolong.net/forum/index.php?topic=743.0

Sweet Cooking Set http://niaolong.net/forum/index.php?topic=744.0
(http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv325/arelenriel/finds/EE_sweetcookingsetfor3.jpg)

They offer their files in both Sims 3 Packs and .pkg files are are only patched to 1.106 so their meshes should work with pretty much everyone's games.

Thanks for all the links! Yeah I had several of their deco items in my game - mainly for my coffee section of one of my favorite lots - I hope they'll quickly convert those "coffeewares". Meanwhile 'grabbing these shinies here. The dish pile, desk clutter and books will be perfect OM NOM NOM :P

I am glad that both they and Pocci are doing Sims 3 stuff while continuing to do Sims 2 stuff, between them my game will never lack for clutter .
