I must be sick. I actually like that lamp. Good thing the poly count is high for it and it's not in the booty....otherwise I might be tempted to add some lag to my game.

BlackDwarf, don't worry about it. Seriously! He deserves to be insulted for having that attitude. Or should I say for having had that attitude? While I don't like what he said or agree with it, I actually understood where he was coming from at the time. Now, thanks to my tendency to bite when riled, he understands that my son doesn't have it easy and certainly isn't ever going to skate through life.

The shoe thing reminds me of a little guy who lives at the group home I worked at. He can't tie his shoes. So, every morning I was there, he'd walk up to me and put his foot up to get me to bend my leg- then he'd prop his foot on my knee and I'd tie his shoe(s). For some reason, that always made me smile.

Rugs! Yes!

Is that the really big rug? (I forget the size, but it's an odd size..5 x something I think.)
Not that it really matters, there's no such thing as too many rugs....or curtains.

I got lost reading all this, so....
To anyone who said something about the "assclown". Believe it or not, he's got a heart and a brain. And after I got done with him, he's got a lot better understanding of just how hard life really is for someone with mental and/or physical disabilities.

Paden: I wish your brother was still around so you could give him a hug for me. It sounds like he was a beautiful person. (Hope you understand what I mean- I'm soooo tired and can't think straight.)

Want me to wish upon that person exactly what they deserve for you?

Nah. Thanks for the offer, but it's been done. Besides, while I may have refrained from killing him, it's going to take awhile before he can completely remove my foot from his ass.

But my eldest son has spina bifida, and we've had idiots tell us that if we just tried hard enough, his issues would disappear completely.

"Idiots"? Completely uneducated, ignorant jackasses is more like it.

And then there's the thoughtless arses who talk about disabilities as if they're a punishment or a lesson for the parent.

Not a punishment or lesson for the parent(s) at all. I firmly believe that God (not to drag religion into this) doesn't give anyone more than they can handle. You'd be surprised how many people consider their disabled or handicapped child (or children) a gift...not a curse.

One of my boys has many, many problems. Being BiPolar, mildly MR and having ADD are just 3 of them- to give you an idea of how his life is.
He has always been in special education classes and will most likely never function above the level of a 4th grader. There have been times when just thinking about what he'll do when he's considered an adult has made me cry. I know that he'll never lead a "normal" life....but he doesn't. He'll most likely never be able to drive a car (he's almost 16 and couldn't take driver's education- they dropped him out of the class after a week)- he lacks the ability to concentrate and judge a situation properly. He talks about going to college- functioning at the level he does, that's highly unlikely. He talks about getting married and being a daddy- that could definitely happen, if he finds the right girl who understands and accepts who and how he is whole-heartedly. He talks about working- again, could definitely happen...but it's unlikely that he'll ever get a "skilled" job that pays well. If he's to ever live on his own, he'll need supervision- so he'll never truly live on his own. For the rest of his life, he'll be struggling to add 2+2 (it's not that he can't, it's that he forgets how to do basic math and has to be reminded) and his library card is rarely used- young adult and adult books are too hard for him to read.
Don't get me wrong. I love my son uncondtionally. He's mine- "faults" and all. That's my boy, my baby. I've always done all I can to try to improve his situation.
The only reason I say a any of this now is this- someone told me that he envies my son because he'll always have it "easy" and be able to "skate" through life. Believe it or not, I managed to not kill that person.

Ahhh.....I'm thinking that wasn't (just) about my macro- I mean, it was inspired by all the binary code being thrown about.
But, it's good to know that I didn't mispell anything...well, 4 words, since I just copy/pasted to get a good chunk.

*probably a bit late, but still:*

It made me cringe a little when OHJ said something to the effect of being saddened that everybody who posted on LDG's blog about being disappointed that she was going pay clearly didn't LUUURVE her like he did and just wanted her stuff for free. I can't even begin to understand that kind of logic: if people want her stuff it's because they LIKE her as a creator, right? Otherwise, it's just some more crap of the "feed the chilluns" category of arguments ("OMG! They're emotionally blackmailing her and taking the bread out of her mouth!").

I know I'm late on this, but still: I tried to ignore that when I read it (OHJ's drivel, not iamawake's post!). I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that LDG was unhappy at TSR before she was even offered FA. If she was truly feeling the LUUURVE OHJ or anyone else there felt for her, she wouldn't have left....simple as that. So, Thoma$$ and Co...if you all insist on thinking that she left for any other reason, get yourself a dictionary, look up the word delusional and apply it to your self - ya bunch of delusional jackasses.

Thanks, SoggyFox.
I already figured that I'd have to use the biggest lot. The garage doors? Never thought of using the new ones- I don't really like the way they look, but it does make sense seeing that they came with AL. (Silly me!) Since the one I've used works, I think I'll stick with that one. Well, off to try out this idea!
205  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Paysite Macros on: 2008 October 23, 07:08:12
A love letter for TSR....

I know, it's lame. But someone had to do it.  Wink

Edit: I hope I spelled it right!

I likes the winders, too! All in one set please?

Whilst I'm here: Simylicious at MTS2 uploaded a lot, Bella Donna Circle. It's a neighborhood. I don't know if it works the way it's meant to as I didn't download it. The idea of a neighborhood-type lot appeals to me, so I want to do one.
I don't have any pics, as I'm working this out in my head (lot less aggravating for me than building and demolishing just to start over again) but can anyone tell me if these ideas will work?
1) 4 houses, 2 set farther back- a usable garage and fenced in yard for each. (No foundations anywhere!)
2) To simulate a road- invisible driveways and extensions for the 2 houses that are farther back- with road tiles up until the last extension. That one would be a different tile to make a distinction between "road" and "driveway"...also it would match the house.
3) The way I've got this figured out so far,a) there will be a space of 4 tiles or so between those 2 roads/driveways. I like the idea of making that space a median with trees and plants in it. Will that work? b) If that will work, can I use any of the edging around the median?
4) Any area that's outside of the houses, garages and yards would be community area, right? So, that would mean that "Little Sally" could go across the "street" and visit "Little Tammy"? Or would the driveways be in the way and uncrossable?

I think that's it. I already know from playing around with apartments that I can use a garage- funny thing about that is Maxis garage doors prevent the lot zoning change...probably because they can be walked out of. If you use Dolphin's Anti-pedestrian garage door, the lot zone change works.

Oops. One more thing. Does anyone know where there are some good leafy terrain paints that won't make the game lag? The cabin lot is waiting for one. The one I used makes it lag- badly.

You're saying that she hacked herself and gave herself a virus? Ohhh, that sounds nasty, don't it?

If she did, she probably sent herself the mug, too. Once a drama queen/attention whore, always a drama queen/attention whore.
208  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Ugliest Paysite Creation Find: Round Two. on: 2008 October 22, 17:12:29
Their mouths look so wierd, its like she just put adult sized mouths on child sized heads.

No, no, I disagree. It looks like she put adult sized HEADS on child sized bodies. Honestly, I don't know a single child who's got a head that big.
209  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR Sharing your infomation! on: 2008 October 21, 20:00:55
Edit, quickly, EDIT! Don't let her know exactly which sets!! Isn't it more fun to let her figure out which ones?? Way more fun than leading her directly to them!
