61  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / I have a treasure on: 2007 May 06, 22:30:08
lol soursim...

You know dour is a word, right?  means moody, brooding, etc.

I know that TSR is doing their little thing but I'm tired of that already.  I mean, besides their claim that it's a community project, isn't it just an extension of TSR?  Isn't there anything more interesting going on? Sad

I have wanted to correct you as well, but it would be too much effort on my part and I am starting to not care anymore.  Its starting to feel like this place is being overrun by 12ness again.  I don't even bother reading about 80% of the posts anymore.

wiruherumina sounds like the Japanese pronunciation of Wilhilmina.  Can't imagine why they would saddle you with something that should only be written in katakana. lol.

There was just something EXACTLY like this at Twisted Sims (just ended).  Except it was a real community thing... you know.. where anyone was invited, and they actually asked sites to participate... and no one had to join anything to download...

I don't think anyone caught that this is not a difference between UK spelling and American spelling. Practice and Practise are different WORDS.  They mean different things.

Practice:  to preform work repeatedly as to become proficient.

Practise:  To take advantage of someone

She used a word, it was just the WRONG one.

She may be practising though Smiley

cute dress, I didn't even realize it was on a man at first. (too busy looking at dress)

I was commenting about how he was asking if it was pay at all.  If you don't give you credit card info... well you know the rest Smiley  Sass is fine round here.  But you have to be careful because more often than not it makes you look like the fucktard. :\

I thought about adding it to the dictionary, since it's a different meaning, but then decided against it.  Since I have never used that word before in my life, (practise, I use practice plenty of times) I doubt I will be trying to type it anytime soon.

unless you give your credit card number, they can't possibly be charging you without your knowledge???

to take advantage of someone <he practised on their credulity with huge success>

I had to look it up.  My FF spellcheck still thinks it's a misspelling.

She can boast about being user friendly all she wants.  Her site is still ugly, and I wouldn't even bother looking at the downloads of a site that looked like that.  (my thought being.. ok.. they can't even design a simple background and banner, how good can their recolors be?)

** edit:  Just got the images to work.  It does look very joomla-y.  I dont' use joomla, but my understanding is that it is kind of like "website for dummies"

My page isn't IE6 friendly.  I toyed with the idea of ditching the cool code that I found that it doesn't work with, but decided that forcing people to upgrade out of the stone age/having a more useful layout was more important.    If people can't see my content without having a seizure then they need to (as advised) upgrade to FF or IE7.  If you can't then you need a new computer, if you can't afford a new computer then you'll just have to risk the seizure.  *shrug*

I was just wondering since she states right on the front page that she has a love of web design... white background with black text with zero images is hardly ... design.  More like a resume.
73  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Pay Items Poll at Parsimonious on: 2007 May 03, 16:57:48
Quote
1.2%  - You should feature more items from pay sites in the Finds, I frequently purchase Sims downloads and hate to miss previews of good pay content
14.1% - I think it is right that pay items are featured so that people can decide for themselves if they wish to purchase the content shown
8.5%  - You should not to feature pay items as it is a disappointment to those who cannot afford to pay for the items shown
7.3%  - Pay items should only be included in the finds if the site contributes a support fee to Parsimonious for the advertising of their updates
68.7% - No pay items should be featured as it is inappropriate to charge money for Sims custom content and Parsimonious should not be encouraging the community to support this practice via the Finds

Thank you for voting. - Total votes: 493
