I think Jirka isn't a recognizable name because he doesn't put his name all over everything like others do.  I bet a lot of people know him as "the guy who runs glance" (even though he is at TSR).  In the same way, All about style is a very popular website with lots of stuff that people use all the time, but Judie doesn't post in forums (that I know of) and she doesn't have her name anywhere on the site, so even though she is the admin of a popular site, people don't know her, and her site doesn't have a name that can be easily shortened into a personification.

This whole convo just reminded me of one ep of... well whatever the name of the reality show that followed bobby and whitney houston....  Bobby was sitting in a bar and started talking to this old white guy, and he's like "you know who I am?"  and the guy had no clue.  Bobby was furious that the guy had never of him or heard his (1?) song before.  I just thought it was funny, I mean, I'd never heard of Bobby till he married whitney, hell, I can't even think of his last name...  Just making a point about "fame"

Yea I didn't think that the genocide comparision was very funny or relevant either.  The fact that the whole essay was written on the premise of "you HATE me!"  is ignorant to start.  No one here hates paysite owners.  There is a line in the sand, they stand on one side and we stand on the other.  When one of them steps to our side, we cheer and accept them as one of us.  When one from our side steps over then we boo, hiss, and flood guestbooks with hatemail (*not endorsed btw.)  We hate the choices, not the person making them.  

Though sometimes the person making them is still an utter asshat, that can't be helped  We are all more than free to dislike simmers on a personal level, there are a few that I dislike, but it's because of their personality, not their stance on the pay/free debate.

I actually thought this was passable.  Not pay worthy, but passable.  *shrug*   It's not tacky, it's not floodfill, and it's done well.  Congrats on making something normal!

The real problem is when you have a site that is hotlinking your images AND your files  I've had a few.  Funny thing really.  It wasn't using up much bandwidth, but it was more insulting than anything, (ask first, k?) at least those sites list the original source.  My question is why anyone would download CC from a site like that, if you can't see it first???

I guess normally you would ask a mod for their IP address and try to compare it to others that are already listed, but I don't know if the cats at SFV would do that, since they're all about personal privacy and whatnot.
