When it comes to earnings, conservative estimates are that minimum, TSR makes $500,000 a year gross - even if a minute percentage of members take out a subscription.  Take away say 200 payments of $300 for artists, and that still leaves an awful lot for administration and bandwidth.

Interesting. You got anything to prove those stats though? I presume you got them from Coconut but as you and she know, evidence is always needed for anything really to carry any true value/weight in an argument/thing/my vocabulary currently sucks..

Edited: What I originally wrote sounds a bit grumpy, sorry about that. The TSR finances would be very interesting to know about, so if there is some of that to be seen then that would certainly be enlightening. There has always been rumous, speculations and suggestions of how much they make, so an evidence-backed figure would be awesome

And I agree with Dani - there is a difference between getting a commision from each artist to host their stuff and getting a huge chunk and then turning around and paying the artists....a huge difference.

Yup, I believe thats a thread here which Hec made. Was a pretty rough estimate though, as we didn't know how many people were subsrcibing etc..

Although, in one of the very first TSR threads here I think people found records of how much the TSR company made back in 2006, or something, so would be interesting to dig that up and compare it to what they make now that there are 'pesky pirates' about and filesharing is more..er liberated (my vocab really does suck today)

Nothing official - and nothing from coconut - that's a conservative guestimation based on a minute proportion of members like .5% (TSR displays helpfully the total number of members) taking out one 2 month subscription per year, and then radically under estimated.

well other than the property that "dream house" is sitting on...the rest of the house is pretty fucking ugly....Poor Thomas...you have no taste...not in women...eek, atwat...and you certainly suck at 'drawing up the blueprints'!!  If that is a dream house...then I live in a frigging Mansion!!!  Maybe you should have gotten one of  your FA's to draw you up a blueprint....better yet, you should have asked a free artists...they at least don't suck!!

The big and only difference is that TSR people are so sensitive (feel the sarcasm) that they have to be paid for their valuable time and artistry and they might quit creating if they aren't paid. Well, boo hoo. If they need money to feel that we're worthy of receiving their gilded creations, then they can keep them. Their delicate feelings aren't a justification; they're an excuse.

I think you nailed something there.  Reading that thread, I do get the feeling that a lot of the FA's think of themselve as fragile little snowflakes in need of protection from the harsh and bitter world.  The odd thing is that I know some of them aren't nearly as weak and kittenish as they make themselves out to be. Some of those women in there have always come across as strong, independent women.   Even outside the FA forums they act less like this.  It's like they've become watered down versions of themselves.

All I can think of is that they feel they have to be extra careful in that forum of what they say. Iif you are constantly worried about saying the wrong thing, most people start to sound weak. 

I can understand all of them feeling themselves so fragile. 
They are employees, if they got crictics and not "kudos" they lose status and money. Pff, I would hate to live in an enviroment where everybody is judging the creations all the time, I can only imagine how is that enviroment filled with unloyal competition, people cheating on people, speaking badly from behind,pretending to be friend when they only want the FA status, kissing Toma$$ ass to be promoted, etc. I doesn´t surprise me that some of those creators are emotionally unbalanced. Also, I think the whole pretending is part of the game. I suppose it makes Toma$$ feels... powerful (I was going to use a brazilian expression but I don´t think is an approppriated expression LOL)

I won´t say anything about Thoma$$ house. I am a horrible builder at the sims but I can build something better than that in my game at any time.It disgust me that he is building a house at gamers cost.
