It's also that nasty roadblock where creativity meets commerce. Inspiration and quota don't always agree. It's a particular type of artist that can make it work. Most can't. Just ask George R R Martin.

As an artist myself, I can attest to that. I know I am more inspired and more productive when the only incentive is to impress myself. Every time I try to do commissioned work, it lacks true inspiration. All I can think about is "will the client feel cheated by this?" This would cause me to doubt my own creative abilities, then it turns into a vicious cycle of doubt and lack of inspiration.

True artists don't do it for the money. Now if you happen to be one of those rare artists that doesn't do it for the money, and patrons throw money at you anyway, then you are truly blessed. 


eta: Dot is NOT an artist by any definition. Not only does she do it for the money (she admits she doesn't play the game), but she's also a delusional, talentless hack.

TSR - only available if you have working account. Don't blame us if you end up sitting there, rocking back and forth and screaming because her tutorials make no sense whatsoever. Her tutorials are one of the main reasons that I have not yet had the guts to try creating anything except lots. Maybe someone has one they downloaded for shits and giggles they can send you so you don't actually have to sully yourself with TSR's dirt or the risk of having your info spread all over the internet.

Reading things that are written while drunk always make more sense when the reader is also drunk- the same thing goes for Darts- I learned to play darts while drunk and can't play for shit when I'm sober- The last time I played while sober I nearly hit my opponent in a very sensitive part of his anatomy.

I'm the same with Guitar Hero. My boyfriend taught me how to play on the night we met and I was quite drunk. I've tried playing sober, but I just can't seem to get the same scores.

DOT's tutorials might very well be a portal to insanity. It's fine to stand around the entrance for a little while, gaping at all the craziness and fug inside, but linger too long and you'll get sucked into her realm. You'll know her because she'll be the one sitting on a badly meshed throne, wearing a lampshade on top of her head and holding the infamous lamp law scrolls.

The sad attempt to recreate the United Colors of Benneton logo is also hideous. They used a DEFAULT FONT for it. Yuck. No real company uses a default font for their logo.
