I wanted to upload a sim on GaySimsClub2 which had a lot of custom content in it. I wanted to be totally fair about it and give credit and respect to all of the creators with names and links to their sites and everything. Well I came across one creator whose things I had on my sim that said that none of his/her things could be posted on any other site besides MTS2, not even if you gave credit and linked back. He/She actually specifically said not to link back from another site. I PMed him/her and asked if I could please use his/her things with credit in a sim I uploaded, but they never responded back.
So basically it drives me crazy, because I thought communities like these were all about sharing. I understand giving credit where credit is due, but I don't understand this do not upload my CC with your sim under any circumstances. What is up with that?

Nouk I can understand not wanting to have your hairs used on fat sims..... but porn movies! Come on thats going too far. :shock:

Now that I think of it: Don't use my hair in porn movies or on fat sims! :lol: :lol: I've broken that rule many a time Nouk, since one of your hairs looks just like mine in real life...it ALWAYS goes on my fat self-sim! And since the game is about my fantasies it also gets used in what amounts to porn with monsters. Mat |

I think we came across the same person, Mat. :lol: Those TOS sound strangely familiar, so does the lack of answer to good natured people who do ask for permission...heh
But I uploaded the recolors I made of the guy/girl/thing's meshes anyway...and since I did my best to provide credit etc I see nothing wrong with it.

HeeHee! I'm sure we are thinking of the same person since I know for a fact that we have the same taste in sims and CC. That's all I'm going to say about that...except that this is the first time I feel a little weird about being incognito.
I would upload the sim anyway, but the site owner at GSC2 specifically asked me not too if I didn't have permission and I respect him enough not to.

It's cool, a lot of people here are incognito, I just don't care  I thought it sounded familiar, and well all I can say is, try finding another place to upload the sim...because in my case its been weeks and no answer to my polite request to upload my items. I too am for giving credit where credit is due, and since I MADE those outfits, and did NOT include the mesh, and unless I get a direct notice to take them down (although they should appreciate the effort of asking for permission in the first place) I think I'm entitled to share my work wherever I want...and I think it's just common sense. |

Actually, that sim is based off one of my MySpace friends. Wtf, I wish I had cool Myspace friends. They're all random people that added me and I blinded accepted. I think at least three of them added me because they think I'm going to listen to their religious sermons, a couple because we go to the same school (yet they do not talk to me at all at school), and a couple because I think they just wanted to comment on my pictures. |
