Peggy and XMsims mesh..too close for comfort?

I think xm sims do that for reason for those who can't get member downloads. So they can get things simular too. I like the idea.

Meh I agree with what people have already said. If there was a Peggy and XM hair that looked darn similar, then I would download the XM - its free, no gaps in the mesh, lower poly me thinks, probs animated, nicer textures and colours. Also XM meshes are more versatile, so you can have so many different versions of them - edit the textures and alphas more freely, whereas Peggy's are a pain in the arse. And also XMsims do not have blinkies on their site!  :roll:

XM Sims used to do horrendous texturing and colouring. I always got MTS2 recs of their hairs.

Now they do good textures and shit meshes.

XM do bin their hairs, in fact they've just changed slightly so what they used to bin as light brown they bin as blonde which is great cos it's not a horrible shade of yellow. I was going to suggest my hair binning tut at my blog but it requires simPE and the binning tool!

XM Sims is better than Peggy for many different reasons

1.) They're free
2.) Lower poly counts
3.) No hideous gaps or other shit
4.) More variety

Yeah, I've become a huge fan of XM hair...especially the more recent ones. Great variety of colors (generally colorbinned correctly), nice styles, nice animations, little if any cutting.

When did they start doing that? I have tons of XM styles all colors that are not binned. Must me the most recently ones. I think starting with the one that has the little lace hair thingie that they starting binning I have ones from before then.

The binning started around page 41. I have some of their hair. I just don't like a lot of the reds. They're almost Peggy red. But XM hair is pretty good hair overall. The poly counts seem to stay pretty low for intricate or long hair. Unlike Peggy who never posts that.

There will be. jfade is working on a 'Wardrobe Wrangler' that will allow you to bin hair, correctly categorize clothing, and work with accessories...all without the hassle of Bodyshop or SimPE.

Stay tuned..it's not even in beta testing yet!

Now that's a tool I can look forward to! I love organization and things being categorized correctly. I also hate SimPE. I only use it to bin and change a sim's last name.

Buttttt it's known that xm sims and peggie sims are mesh stealers, specially from renderosity freebies, and commerical items. I'v been keeping an eyeball on tsr, peggie sims, xm sims and a few other sites for renderosity for copyright violations. I work at renderosity for over 10 years now. shit wow i'm getting old lol!

I don't think that stealing a mesh is the worst thing someone can do, if they give it out for free. Yes it may be lazy, but selling it I find wrong. If a site takes a mesh and makes it into sim hair they should credit the original creator. I have odd personal beliefs about internet stealing (music, software, etc.).

I don't personally know if these sites take meshes. I know nothing about meshes. But, in all likelihood Peggy probably does take other people's meshes and mutilates them. She is the greediest bitch around after all, besides Thomas.

I don't think Peggy'll ever move to TSR, she probably gets more money on her own site. I mean the subscription price is up there, for the crap she's trying to sell you.

I still don't like xm's version of black but their other colors are ok.

EDIT: :slaps self: I just went to the site and checked their colors. Turns out, their black IS actually a nice black. I confused it with the "raven" color that they show in the previews. I hate that raven color, but I do like their black. And i really like how they show the previews of each color so I don't have to download all of them.
