Well, kids, this just shows what a REAL fan base for a site can do, now doesn't it? MTS 2 has proven itself over the years with the quality downloads offered for free. What's more, they also have a quality control so we don't get hold of stuff that's going to bork up our games and make us all go mental. They enable you to set filters on what you look for so that if you don't have the expansion pack, you won't download it and mess yourself up! I'm not sure many sites have stuff like that. I wish I could have helped, but as some will tell you, I'm limited about stuff like that. The only credit I have is when I make an incredible meal, cookies or other baked goods or help a friend out of a right royal mess they've gotten themselves into. Good news! *breaks out internet rum and passes it around to all*

I never noticed the donation drive until after it was all over!     Sheesh, maybe I'll donate anyway, because I feel cheated.

Wow!  That was quick.  I didn't even get the chance to talk to the man in charge (no not Pescado) about getting some money for a donation.  

No matter what you say about the community they sure seem to come though when it matters!

I wholeheartedly agree. I dont mind donating when given the choice, it's when you dont have a choice about it that grates me. In the past I have donated for payfiles only to be sorely disappointed. Almost feels like a bait and switch  to me sometimes. Goes to show that you don't need to hold files for ransom to get donations. You just have to be fan based instead of money based. I was more than happy to contribute to the drive at mts2 because of this.

Been contributing for awhile now, and even when money is a little tight I still feel all warm and fuzzy knowing I am giving something back to The Best Sims2 site full of tutorials, content, and so much more.

MTS2 has been a mainstay for me throughout all these years of simming.  I remember going there in... 2001-2002?  Something like that.   When I was simming for the first Sims game, anyway.  When faces were two polygons.  *laugh*

I'm so glad the money has been raised so quickly.  I'll gladly help out next year when they go on the next drive.  It's like a telethon, only with woohoo.
