I just read about them and registered. It seems they are a paysite.

For walls and floors. I dont know what's worse. Charging for Maxis object and clothes recolors or charging for walls and floors

Just registered, and it seems to want you to donate for four of the FIVE wall sets currently available for Sims 2.


...seriously, what the hell? Making floors and wallpapers is just (in most cases) copy+pasting. It doesn't need shadows and highlights, even.

What the heck? I wouldn't pay for walls/floors even if they were magical sparkly walls that gave you good luck. There's nothing there that anyone with the right program couldn't make for themselves.  :|  In a way, that makes it worse than Carla Niven - Carldrew's stuff may be eye-bleedingly bad, but I'm sure it takes longer to make than these walls.

there are so many things wrong with that site.
#1 the frontpage's text
#2 the about page is completely empty
#3 Links page has only one link it says "Sims Official Site" www.sims.com which isnt even a sims site lol
#4 clicking on download leads you to a page that says to register first
(why would anyone want to register when you arent even showing previews--you can only show so many previews on a mainpage)
#5 according to the statistics they have 5 files but pixelated says 4 of those are donation
#6 charging money for copying and pasting (someone else's photographs i'm guessing) and using only a free maxis-given program
#7 based on the preview pic pixelated shared, it looks worse than things you can get for free on mts2, and only slightly better than the crap on tsr/exchange

are those $3 for each of the 4? meaning $12 for all of the donation walls? are they even for sims2? they have a sims1 image up so those might not even be sims2 wallpapers theyre charging for lol

anyways, quick domainwhois shows the owner lives in istanbul and is using this for webhosting: http://www.isimkayit.com/webhosting.php their cheapest plan is 25 YTL which is about $18 USD (i think)
If you were going from a yahoo group, wouldnt you try moving to a free hosting site first, even if you were going to make it a paysite?

and who would PAY for walls and floors? especially those sad plain ones.  crazy

I just signed up there under a fake name so that I can see everything they have, and I'm in the Sims 2 section right now.

Let's see...

1.  There are 5 things in the walls section (for TS2).  One set is free, one costs $1, two of them cost $2 and another one is $3.

2.  There are no pictures for the $1 wall and for the $3 wall.  Why would someone want to download something they can't see?  Yet, one person downloaded the $3 one while 5 people downloaded the $1 one. :?

3.  I didn't see any floors that are available nor did I see anything in their TS1 section.  It seems like this person just made a paysite based on 5 walls. :roll:

Heh, made a guestbook entry asking why they were selling custom content, even though it's against the EULA. Now it's not there, what a surprise!

Why would anyone charge for walls and floors?  Like someone else here said, it's just copying and pasting images.  It's a little more work to make something seamless or if you want to make it perfect, but it's not brain surgery and anyone can do it.

I assumed that site was a joke, at first.  This goes far, far beyond charging for Maxis recolors.
