I need to start downloading poseboxes. They seem to make the game look so lovely and my sims are so "bleh."

Well, the new computer is up and running. I have the Sims and all the packs installed and ready to go - and I just spent the better part of four hours downloading EVERYTHING IN THIS DAMN THREAD! I don't even wanna know how big my dl folder is now.

Poseboxes are for picture-taking only, they're no good for gameplay. To pose sims there's so much fiddling around with OMSPs, the invisible tray, pose boxes and so on that it's not even funny anymore. It'd really mess up gameplay too, because most pose boxes I've seen (especially the asian-made ones) lock a sim in place untill the pose is deactivated.
So yeah, pretty much useless for people who aren't into picture-taking, but a godsend for those who are.

By the way, check out the 'Asian sites and other' (or whatever it's called) in the sharing area at Simscave. There's at least 20 different pose boxes there and some of them are ridiculously good.

So they work like using the poses in the game?  Meaning, that if you order them to do a pose, they hold it until you actually have to cancel the action before they will stop?

Or painting.  When you paint a portrait, the sims are so dull.

You know, I thought there was something familiar about this lot. The one with the photos from 22 August 2008. below.

Pretty beach lot!

http://lifestyle4sims.de/

Snoop around a little, everything on the site is gorgeous!

I was sure I had seen it on Feb 19, 2009 posted by the lovely srgmls23.

*ahem*

ETA: In reading the comments the owner of the original called him out on it. As of press time there has been no reply. However it is still for sale.

The idea of copying someone's house doesn't bother me, but the person who did the second one, should have given credit.  "This house was inspired by this house done by ______  here's a link to their site."

I used to make houses based on modeling plans I found on the net.  If I had ever posted them, I would have linked the site plans, just in case someone else found the same plans I did and make something very similar first.  But that house has a pretty unique shape, unless it's from a houseplan it's obviously a copy.

I wonder what the layout looks like inside of each of them.

Ugh. Not only is that a blatant copy. It was copied so poorly. The original is so beautiful, and look what the lemming did to it! Ugh.

lovely srgmls23 even copied where the trees go. What a buttmunch

Oh yes I know. But like Soggy said, it will make painting portraits a lot easier. Plus I will admit I snap photos of my favorite simmies so posebox just seems like a win win to me.

I'm guessing that is what they mean.

I will admit, I'm not a fan restrictive TOU's, but blatant stealing is another. Just like there was another artist who is stealing Viviane's clothing and reposting them to TSR.

Well, there's 'inspired by' and then there's just slapping on a new wallpaper and calling it your own. I think that's just as bad as taking a mesh, slapping on a new textures and calling the result your own.

I've had the houselan thing happen to me - thought someone had uploaded my own lot, but once i downloaded it, saw we'd modified it our own ways, so I calmed down Smiley.

There are a few more differences to these two houses, in the roof, but considering the fence is identical, and the landscaping not much different, I'd have to agree this looks like a stolen house.  Would love to see floor plans to know for sure though.
