Who the hell pays for Photoshop these days? You americans are fucking rich...

Anyone who does professional graphical work. One can get in actual legal trouble for doing work for pay (not whiny ass sim paysite owners, actual artists) with a pirated piece of software.

I use GIMP because for my purposes (dabbling around with fixing skins and making the occasional website graphics) it works brilliantly, and it doesn't hog my entire damn system like photochop does.

I bought Photoshop because I'm against piracy as a principle and a way of life; maybe it's stupid, but I feel better this way (yes, warm and fuzzy inside  Cheesy )

I use paint.net, it's free. I might buy photoshop someday, but haven't seen the need yet.

Wahoo, another paint.net fan, I absolutely love that programme.

I'm "artistic", but I can't create anything for simmies because my graphics card is the shit. Integrated Unichrome Pro chip. Very pixely graphics.  :x I had a shitty nvidea one before, but my current one is the worst.

well, i didn't STEAL my copy.  My sister bought CS for school and I just have zone alarm to keep it from realizing that its been installed on 2 computers.  I don't really agree that you can't share software within a household... but that is just me. Now that we don't live together it wouldn't be quite so "sharey-sharey" but that's another issue.

I've got Paint Shop Pro X (because I'm a poor college student, and because a combination of the sims and Photoshop would kill my computer dead), and it works really great for all of the things I need it to do. Sure, I can't do selective coloring and I don't have the healing brush, but if one's creative enough they can work around those limitations. And if I get desperate enough, I can always email myself the file and open it up on a school computer--all of which are equipped with PS.

My mom paid for it, but she got a student discount and a studen license when she was in college and then just.. kept it. (she went back to school, wasn't THAT long ago). I use the elements that came with my computer for now, don't need anything too fancy

I hate how a simple photoshop image can end up being over 300k saved as jpg but doing the same thing in paintshop ends up with a ~75k image

I love the classic biggest-artist-on-the-web-at-least-I-think-so hint:
No other software than Photoshop is capable of resizing images and you must be burnt and tortured if you dare to mention some other tool.

A perfectly legal, valid copy of Photoshop Elements came with my tablet.  I don't have it installed, though I suppose that counts enough as Photoshop.  You shouldn't need anything more than that to recolor, certainly.

I don't use Photoshop for recoloring anyway. I use this Microsoft photo editing program that came with my computer.

Reminds me of the PC World and Dell adverts, where it's all like 'I need a computer so that I can check my emails and download musics' and the store's like 'Sounds to me like you need this TOP OF THE RANGE THING, yours for only double the price it should be! Cheesy'
