My misunderstandings jssimone. I think if EAxis had originally released Sims as a game you must pay to play, I don't think their business model would fail. But because it wasn't introduced as such, it will fail. EA is just trying to make a quick buck off of the players before the franchise goes dead. Because let's be honest, they can only release so many EP and SP's before they start to repeat, or become not worth the money. So what's better than doing an entire graphics overhaul, and just releasing the same content of Sims 1 and Sims 2? Not everyone will buy it, but there are people slobbing on EA's knob over Sims 3. Hopefully if Sims 3 does the same thing Spore did, it will tank hardcore.

But they can't just say what their intentions are. Because if they hire TSR to work on Sims 3, all the TSR sheep and fangirls will love it. On the other hand, people who support us, the pirates, will become highly pissed off, and definitely not buy Sims 3. Either way, EA is fucked.

I know its a pipedream but part of me has this hope that with all the financial troubles EA is having that the real purpose they're inviting T$R high ups there for is so that they can charge them for their illegal activities while they're in U.S. criminal juristiction.  Well, it's a nice dream anyway.

Oh that would be so nice.  Or even if they got TSR to sign a contract with reciprocal rights, and profits going EA's way - that would be hilarious. Thomass and co. sign a big arse contract that they find out later entitles EA to a big cut.

It's also conceivable that an upper echelon EAite will call Thomass into his office (or lure him with peanut butter and euros), and together they'll figure out a scheme to ensure that the FAs get as little out of any potential deal as possible.
