 when I first found the booty I did download many lots from the tsr...and then deleted them :/  You can tell that they do not play the game or sim test the lots. They may look ok but many do not even have rooms inside, just the shell. If I am downloading a lot I want it means I am too lazy to build my own. A shell is only part way done. Or they have crazy ass lay out plans that make no sense.

That was one of my major gripes with TSR lots too.  I really don't mind an undecorated house, but at least test it.  And, if you have a set up that must work in a very specific way, put the key pieces of furniture in the room I'll know where they should go.

People at TSR were also notorious for doing fantastic landscaping on lots, that would have my Sims tossing hissy fits because they couldn't get out to the street for the bus or carpool.  Or else there would be one little path they had to take, that would wind them around the house and over the lot, making them miss their carpool/bus every time.

That's why I have a habit of building only on flat lots.

I didn't know floating boxes were that appealing. Plus, you can tell that someone overdid it with auto-roof on some of those houses...but it also looks as if they tried to get away from auto roof and ended up making it look like a mutant roof.

 I build a lot for sim function, then looks, so most of my lots are pretty flat too. I hate it when the little bastards start waving at me because they can't get to some shrub to cut it. I also hate lots with stairs that have landings because if you get 2 sims on the landing at once they get stuck there and will circle each other until one flops dead. I could use cheats but I figure if they are too stupid to get off the stairs that is Darwin in action.
