THANKS THIS IS GREAT

If you keep up with that, seriously, it could become a great resource for many reasons.  Simply having a search like that is dead useful, but also the way it can encourage people who are on the fence about what to do with their website.  If there is a really popular search engine out there for sims sites, and if charging money for content could leave you off of it...you may think twice.

However, a word of warning, if it's not going to be updated frequently and regularly, it will not be useful at all.  Not to bring you down or anything, because it's great work.  You may want to find a few people you trust who can help you keep your whitelist of sites as up-to-date as possible.

Thanks everyone for your awesome comments! millahnna ; I will definitely be taking suggestions, I hope to make the site as useful as possible.

Quinctia:
I have to agree withy your word of warning, many useful sites have become useless because they were never updated. I have a pretty good way of making sure it is kept updated though. Throughout the week I will add and remove any sites I find by looking through forums and link sections, then every Friday I will sort out all the list of sites and apply them to the search engine.

The staff at my website are also awesomesauce and often provide me with links and stuff Smiley

At some point when I have the time probably week after next I plan to go through the links on my site and put in the description when their last update was and do this every week. Shanow you are welcome to use my links library as a resource for this as well. It is a great idea.

Thanks Shanow.

Here is a little something I am working on, despite the Meshing Class that Sailfindragon is offering staff over at SFS, I decided to teach myself Wings 3-D and UVMapper. This is my first mesh and it is not really pretty- this pic is pre-UVMap which I am about halfway done with. it was supposed to be the Lerberg Shelf from Ikea but my creative muse went astray.

It isn't perfect,my uvmap is a little off because i forgot to designate one of the endpieces appropriately so it is showing up as default rather than horizontal or vertical but the shelves look good and they are not real high poly. My next project will be meshing some clutter like books, cd's and dvd's to go on the shelves

Thats a great start Dstar! Once you get a grasp of the basic functions of the program it won't be long until you can produce really great meshes!

Will you be importing into TS2 or TS3 (Or both Tongue)

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

For now I am simply learning to create for Sims2. The mesh has actually changed somewhat- it had some UVMapping issues and I discovered that I had forgotten to tick some critical boxes when cloning the original shelf- like the StandAlone Object box in Simpe- so the file had no txtr image and the mesh didn't show up so I went back, started over and redid it all. The new one is actually based off the Benno Coffee Table from Ikea. I see more Ikea add-ons in my future- Ikea's stuff is so simple that it is great to learn on - not the stuff from the Stuff Pack- the catalog,

This is the replacement

This is the finished mesh. It is available at SailfinSims but I know some people are not members - so here is a pic of the finished work . It is cloned from the AL Knock on Wood II Shelves and costs 275 in game. It comes in Maxis Wood and Ikea Lack colors it is also draws it's textures from the original mesh but I wouldn't use them - the shadows on the two meshes are different  and my mesh is three tiles so the original shelf textures look quite odd and stretched
You need SilentLucidity's OMSP's to put things on top

I just finished converting this for ts3 this tree it was supposed to be a shelf but i thought it would look neat as a stencil too so I removed the shelving!
It's fully re-colorable It was almost 8 k poly but i managed to bring it down to  1,600 poly.
If you guys want it I will upload it Cheesy

ShanOw - What can the rest of us do to spread the word about this search list?  I'm wondering where to post about it where lots of people will see it, without being too "in your face" about it.  Do you have small link banners for the list?
