I know this sounds n00bish, but can someone link me to a 3D mesh maker? I have no money and my parent's won't let me buy Milkshape. Blender is to complicated for me ><

You've really got no option. For no money, it's Blender or nothing.  Oh, and meshing is pretty complex.  Wink

I was thinking downloading a crack but all the ones I seem to find have a Trojan in them >-o

I tried to figure out Blender when I had it.... The tutorial on the site didn't help at all.

Just tell your parents how much you NEED to do this. You don't have to subscribe for it, so I'm fine with my 35 dollar version. *shrugs*

I have yet to make something... :/

Maybe I'll pull a black garden (right?) and make flower pot hair for everyone!

I tried to, they think it's a waste of money. I might get it for Christmas and all though, I think I'll stick with MTS2 until then.

If you live in America, you can always ask your parents for a gift card that's a credit card-ish. I believe I bought milkshape with that...

I think I used a vanilla mastercard... anywho google that.

Oh yes! I forgot, I will most likely get 15 bucks from my Grandmother for my Birthday. And probably a Giftcard to Wal-Mart from my neighbor. Now I just have to see how much it costs at Wal-mart.

I actually think you're better off trying to learn Blender; for one thing, it's totally free, and imo, is a much better piece of software than Milkshape is (and one that is more comparable to higher end 3D modelling/animation applications as well). Plus, you might discover that you absolutely hate meshing/modelling and then you'll be out 30 bucks Cheesy.

However, I'm with Calalily; learning to model and mesh isn't going to be easy no matter what you decide to use, so don't be under the impression that a different programme will automatically be easier to pick up. All 3D modelling programmes, from Milkshape all the way to Maya, have steep learning curves and can be very frustrating for someone who has limited experience, so you've really got to be prepared to deal with that and knuckle down until you figure it out. As for learning Blender, the tutorials on the website aren't the greatest. I'd recommend using The Blender wiki book to get yourself started.

Thanks I guess xP I wanted to use Milkshape because MTS2 highly recommends it, they say you can make animated hair or meshes with Blender. So that's what I was concerned with.

And seeing as I have Photoshop, is there a special texture I can use for the hair if I ever manage to make a mesh?

And how would I make a Mesh compaitble with a Sim head? Blenders confusing me again D:

I use Gmax, but I use it with the Simcity4 Building Architect Tool to make custom buildings (and quite honestly gmax is poopy, which explains why it's free  Tongue)

This is part of that steep learning curve Mando was telling you about. You're going to have to pick through tutorials yourself and figure it out. Milkshape will be confusing too. You should tackle texturing first, then move on to meshes. Hair is the toughest I hear, so you're better off starting with simpler stuff.

Is it a crack or a keygen? Because most anti-virus will report keygens as trojans.

ARGH!  I forgot the jammies I made were on a Nightlife mesh, so now I have to wait like another day for my jammies to get posted at MTS2.  Damn me and my fail and also my lack of patience.  >Shocked

Meh. Not kidding. I'm *ahem* older than you it seems, and therefore should be wiser by default (as if  Cheesy) I so couldn't do it. Mind you, having a large family, I don't really have the time to sit and devote hours of my time to it. I found I would just start to learn something, then I'd have to get up and get on, and when I got back to it, I was all confuzzled again. To top that, my brain does not work in technological circles, and nor do I learn easily by reading stuff. I learn far easier with someone showing me how to do it, but that's not an option.

Still, I hold out hope that one day, I might be able to make a decorative stick  Cheesy
