I can agree that not everything is exactly top notch, but it's nice that there's a site that at least have some standards, whatever they may seem to be to some people, and the same site stays free,  and from there - it's all about encouraging budding artists that wish to learn, share and stay free, neh?

Hee! Honey, my husband and sons wear Santa Hats ON THE PUBLIC STREETS the entire month of December. And they have been known to go to WalMart wearing Viking horns. They have no shame.  :cry:

I guess you can't shame the shameless. damn. The santa hats aren't that bad. Viking horns kick ass, but those holiday sweaters are just an abomination. Especially the ones with bells! It's like tricking people into seeing your ugly sweater.

I'm glad that ya'll realize that it's only the football team, the Vikings, that actually wear horns. The real Vikings didn't ornament their helmets because that would have given too much purchase for an enemy sword to catch on and cause the person wearing the thing too much damage. Fucking Victorian twats for inventing those stories about the horns and wings on the goddamn helmets... One of my pet peeves, really. Real Vikings with horns... that's like saying that the fiercest warriors had themselves gelded because it put them in a permanantly bad mood and made them better fighters... Didn't happen... meh! Ok, I'm better now!
The only holiday wear that I will don is my Tazmanian Devil shirt that has him stomping ornaments and saying, "bah, humbug!" Love that one...

 Though I can respect your opinion on the work in question, we are PAYSITES MUST BE DESTROYED. It isn't too much of a stretch, therefore, to imagine that we'd NOT want to bash creators associated with FREE sites.  So in this instance, your logic is the one that's flawed.  Have some rum and forget about it.

Yes they're very shiny, but that's because they aren't real. It's a roleplaying shop. But take it from me, NOBODY cares more about being historically accurate than sodding roleplayers.

I can't be arsed to look it up right now, but I suspect that the horned helmets were more of a formal thing, not a thing for raiding. I bet the chief had the biggest horns (phallus, anyone?)

Actually I don't think the vikings wore helmets with horns. Helmets, yes. Horns, no. It's more like a myth that has turned into a stereotype that has then turned into perceived truth.

But being a descendant of vikings I know how touchy this subject is. In Denmark every time some truthseeking historian points out that vikings actually did not have horns on their helmets he becomes the subject of public hatred and rejection. We WANT horns on our fake plastic viking helmets, dammit! And no dusty professor is going to deny us that!

Uhm ... and what did this have to do with TSR??? Oh yes, they're Swedish so techically vikings too - although we all know that the Swedish vikings were the wimpy ones, don't we?  And they certainly didn't charge for custom content. :lol:
