God! What kind of loser lacks a life so much that they'd make an account under someone else's name? If, of course, that's what's going on.

I vote that we set this to "ignore" until we actually have some facts to back up the speculation, because to do otherwise feeds someone's desperate need for attention and validation.

Note to identity-smurfing trolls: please do something more useful, such as shutting down your computer and getting laid, reading a book, talking to other humans with your vocal cords not via typing, going for a walk, etc.

I don't know if anyone has read her TSR guestbook, but as of yesterday, there were two entries.  One of which, stated what everyone else is thinking, that she would likely soon be made an FA, given her talent and reputation, and how sad that would be (for the community) if that happened.  Basically, the gist of the message was, please don't go pay.

I checked on it today, wondering if there may have possibly been a reply, or maybe even more entries echoing those statements.  Alas, not only were there no additional entries, but the one mentioned above is now gone.  No, stupid me did not take a screencap.  So, either Enayla deleted the message, or the simpering TSR powers that be, deleted it.

On top of that, another announcement was made today regarding new Select Artists.  Enayla was not on that list, yet she's still listed on the Select Artist page.

All I know, is that I would really be sad if she becomes an FA.

And if they did make her FA, she doesnt have to stay there. She could just stop uploading to TSR  - got her InSim area and MTS2 account - AND theres the fact that all she's uploaded so far are some walls

Hmmm. I really don't think it's her. It's all quite peculiar. I know she's been ill lately, hard to believe she'd put out the effort to post over at TSR.  She doesn't do walls anyway and some of her links led to discontinued pages and the exchange. She hasn't ever posted at the exchange to my knowledge, though other people have posted her stuff there.

Actually she did. I recognized those walls, they're the same ones she made during the early Sim 2 days. In fact, they were her first uploaded CC at MTS2 , but she probably took them down or something since it isn't there anymore, just like the dress she made using Sussi's mesh.

I suppose all will be clarified once she replies CaptainJojoba's PM. *is crossing fingers for good news*

Oh, dear... I really like your stuff, and I'm glad you've found another outlet to post things on, but I'm still a little saddened that you're going to be posting your new creations here. The things you make are lovely to behold ( ...I hope that doesn't come out sounding creepy! @_@; ), and you're already fairly well-known as far as the Sims2 commnunity goes, so you'll probably be made a featured artist shortly-- and, while you get paid, which is important ( I'm pro-commercialism! Really! People always go like "you're making MONEY? Sell-out!", and I disagree with that ), it -is- disappointing that not as many people will get to use the things you make for the game. Either way, good luck with your creations and thank you for sharing them in the first place.

She uploaded 2 dresses a long time ago in MTS2. Same design, one was blue, another maroon. It used Sussi's Victorian: Gibson Girl mesh. And after a bit of "detective tracking", I found the link. I thought she removed them since it didn't turn up in her profile.

So why would she upload her older, lesser-quality, less well-known stuff there? Less than a month ago, she uploaded an amazing pixie skin set on MTS2 & Insim. Seems to me that as an artist, she'd want to put her best quality up rather than the lowest quality.

Bet her ancient dollface skintone pops up there next.  :roll:

She has a grand total of 9 forum posts, the first was in Oct 18, 2004; the most recent was April 28, 2005.

So 2 years without activity and now she's getting back over there? No mention of her serious RL illness which she talks about in both her MTS2 and Insim posts?

Could it even be one of the mods at TSR (ATWA, Thomas...) ...

BTW, she may not respond to the PM. She gets thousands and probably ignores most of them just to save her sanity.

I could go into a number of arguments but even after just a cursory glance through this topic, I can see that most of my reasons have been listed. At the core of it, though, part of why I love this game is because of the community. All these people working together to make a better game for everyone. I could charge for my Sims creations but you'll never see me going down that path though the offers haven't exactly been few. Cutting people off from content because they can't shovel out more cash than they already have doesn't seem the least bit fair to me. For the record, I work as a digital artist, I know when to charge money. When? When I'm hired by the people who made a game, wrote a book, directed a movie or worked on a comic book – that's when I have the right to charge them for my time. I won't be making content based on their hard work and then ask other people to pay up without the original creators getting a penny.

Sims 2 isn't a utility program; it can't be compared to Adobe Photoshop or Maya. All of this reminds me of the 'farmers' in the mmorpg communities, people who have forgotten what the game is about to begin with.

So, conceptually, I'm very much against it. Practically, though, I'm guilty of buying custom content – it bugs me, but I've ended up doing it on several occasions from a couple of sites that are hard to match as far as brilliant content goes... and most often, sites that I know from experience are great, who don't charge crazy, undeserved prices for their work and who offers most of it without demanding anything in return. Each to their own, in the end. Like people said, if you don't want to pay for what they sell, then don't. I steer clear of almost all of the sites because I don't find that their content matches their charge.

Never worry about me, though, I'll keep on trucking, charging nothing for my work. That's why I play the game.
