Oh, interesting...the person who created the torrent included this link in the comments section on mininova, a link to their blog which lists all the contents of the torrent and has some other notes about it.

I'm not surprised to find this on that site, after all I've seen Sims pay content on Limewire, Kazaa etc... since sims 1 came out.

I saw that while I was searching for something from TSR. I just thought it wasn't really worth commenting on here. They do this on several of the *are* boards too. Although most of theirs are HORRIBLY unorganized. All of the stuff thrown in one folder and Zipped.

I believe the person who posted the torrent is implying that TSR may be able to cull the IPs of the downloaders of the torrent (not the booty) and compare those against the IPs of the TSR member list.

I don't think it's pushing their anonymity luck. If you explore that blog further they flat out say who they are/were at TSR, that they are a member here and that their TSR account has already been banned. I don't think they care if people know about this.  :lol:

Thanks for answering, duckie, but I still don't get it.  How can someone check an IP from a third party source--e.g., TSR checking IP's of people downloading the torrent?  Is that info generally available to anyone? I mean, can just anyone go to a forum, let's say, and find out the IP's of the people who are posting, downloading, etc.?

(I really don't care if I'm banned from TSR, I haven't posted or otherwise participated in light years. That's not my issue.  But I'm shocked--SHOCKED--at the lack of privacy.)

you can see all the IPs of peers on bit torrent clients. Just click on the peers tab (in utorrent) and all the peers you're connected to show up.

Yay for torrents...definitely eliminates any bandwidth excuse.    And keeping down serverload here (when possible, while keeping all the files) is always good.

This is the one I found while looking for pictures of some cashcraft stuff I wanted to download. All people have to type is "cashcraft tsr" to find this stuff.

NO one, except Pescado, has access to the logs of who downloads from the Booty. NO one, except Pescado, knows the IPs of those downloading from the Booty. So far no one except LyricLee has had their Booty downloading log published or made public by him and he did that just to show what a hypocrite she is.

Also, no one can get the IP address of any member on this forum except for Pescado.

SFV warns about this it is not impossible. Somehow TSR tracks their files by when and who downloaded it, they even know by the jpegs. Remember they make big bucks and probably paid someone to devise this system. File sharers cut their profits.
