Let me just say this; My reply (the one you are getting so much of a kick out of) was meant to give the recipient(s) the reasons for what we do.  (Not that I really think it is anyone's business anyway)

As for calalily downloading adult content for free, well shame on you if you were under age and downloaded it.  We learned from that and that is why we have a sub fee now...FYI...The website and server came a looooong time after the Yahoo group...

As for the group I filled up with nonsensical pics and posts...let me fill you in on something you probably weren't aware of.  We were being harassed by a fellow who kept requesting, then demanding, that we make him child porn for the SIMs.  We would ban him, and he would come back under a new IP and ID.  We'd figure it out, and the cycle would repeat.  There was also another fellow who was quite rude as well as a bully to other folks in the community, as well as a few others...We found out they were planning on posting a bunch of adult and nude children items on that group (which happened to be an abandoned group with no mod or owner left) so I filled the file section up so they couldn't post it.  Would you rather I had done nothing?  

And one more thing...the 3 '!!!' and the caps in 'MIKEY!!!'are not to indicate "yelling"...they are just there because I liked the effect.  Sorry to disappoint you.  

Anyway, I am way off the beaten track from my point...which is this;

We are open to alternative ideas to pay for our bandwidth and administration costs.  As long as they are ideas we agree with.  (Rude, suggestive RL porn ads not included).  If you want to talk to me, feel free to email me @ redneckklingon@yahoo.ca and we'll talk.

I applaud your handling of the child porn sickos, but you could have taken it further and provided their IP to authorities. Just an idea because I have some extreme views on child pornographers and the people who traffic in the spread of it. As for coming up for cost money, how bout setting up a donate button with no strings attatched? You know what I mean, donate money to help us keep going just for that warm fuzzy feeling. No perks, no bonus, just the knowledge that they are helping to keep a site going that they enjoy getting content from. MTS 2 does it, InSim does it, and I really think that your site could do it too. I'm sure there are wiser people here than me on this issue, so will turn it over to them and I for one hope that you find the way to a free site. Cheers!

Your reasons for wanting to protect underage and keep out the porno looneys is understandable.  I think by saying here that you are open to other suggestions, and you are serious about it, there are quite a few here who will help you.

We did give the IP, home address, telephone number, and all the rest of the info the the authorities in his home state of Wisconsin, and they did nothing.

A Donate button?  We thought about that but herein lies the rub; It would wholly depend on folks donating enough to cover our costs.  Which there would be no guarantee of, as right now I am in a group of almost 4000 people who think they have a right to have free access to anything there heart desires.  As well, then how do we maintain an iota of control of minors accessing our wares?

MTS2 does it, yes.  But they beg and plead for funds, and make promises that "can only be kept by your generosity".  I won't beg and solicit.  They may as well go pay with what they are doing.
