16  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: IN UR COMPUTER, VIRUSIN' UR FILES! on: 2009 October 05, 20:33:16
Well its a lost cause to try and make them (comunity leaders or comunity) like Pescado.  Pescado will be Pescado and frankly I think thats a good thing.  It gives him the room needed to get crap done when the midden hits the windmill.  They don't like him but they respect his ablities and know that when the chips are down, the game completely fubared, and things like Walt monsters rear up their ugly heads, he's there and probably already has 3 or 4 contingency plans to deal with it.  As far as the rest of us go though, well we're just his evil little minions who have little to no crediblity in their eyes.  I'm not saying that we really are minions, personally I think ordering us around is probably like trying to herd cats, but thats how they tend to look at us.

Something like a PMBD lite might be a good idea.  A place to acclimate/integrate(?) new users and users who've realized paysites are crappy but dont know what to do about it to the free comunity.  "free stuff pwns paycrap" would be a great idea to add into a place like that.  But not just this dress looks better than the meatslab dress.  Or this Brittney looks better than Chaz's new Brittney.  Start hitting them with the stuff they really fail at like:  Look at this lovely working carousel they have at MTS2 the closest TSR has is a picture of a carousel.  Best freesite finds, great mods finds, monthly featured free creators, and catorgorizing finds so new players/members have an easier time finding the type of item they're looking for.  A definative place to point the 12's to where they can gush and squeee and get involved on a level they can handle.  And still be considered (at least among themselves) pirates.  Because some of them really seem to want that.  Although having it so that Pescado can come in and trounce them if he feels like it seems like a good idea.  They'll need to get used to what the mastermind of the movement is like if they intend to take their pirate work to the next level and come here.  They should be reasonably able to censor themselves.  Member A(just signed up) will get repremanded by members B-Z(who have been there for a while) for screaming they want such and such TSR thingie in the booty cause now its going to take even longer for said thingie to get there(sort of like here but hopefully "nicer"); or even promote freesites by saying why would you want that thing this one's much shinier.

That being said feel free to poke sticks at the idea.  I like the people here, and the site.  And I dont want to see them go away just because some other people think all of us as individuals here should change and be the fairy godmothers of the simming comunity.  Gods know I'm not up for that kind of thing, I've been out of "bibbity bobbity boo" for years.

Anon said that we use the "catch phrase"  think of the children.  Well that we should.  With every attack, every real name revealed, address displayed, account hacked and porn posted in said hacked account TSR has proven more and more the depths of their depraved commitment to destroy those who speak out against them.  They rigorously police their own site to remove anything that could be seen as a negative comment about them.  They seem to be trying to do the same thing to the rest of the internet.  Silence the voices of dissent through any means they deem necessary, legal or illegal.  PMBD and its members have been the main focus of these attacks, although they do seem to be branching out.  For example:  Simsecret getting hacked and secrets erased and buggybooz MTS2 account getting hacked.  If we dont discourage the 12's from being vocal and posting here.  How many of their home addresses, real names, user names, and passwords will TSR have at their fingertips in a years time, and what are they going to do with them?  Because 12's wont pay attention to the warnings and advice; they'll do stupid stuff and get caught at it because they ran around acting like a 12 year old.  And then the blame for it will fall on us because we enabled the situation by letting them in and not letting them know this was something only for adults who are willing and able to face the potential consequences of TSR's underhandedness.  This is the most important reason for keeping the 12's out.  If we're nice here they're going to show up in droves.  Is there another solution that can keep them from getting a target painted on their back?  Maybe we could quarintine them to one section or something but would that keep TSR from targeting them just for being here?

Sorry if I sound stupid but that's just what I feel is the main reason for PMBD being a bit prickly.

Sorry about disappearing for a few days, been stuck in work land RL.  Sorry Devilfish I dont have furry skins in game, so no pets stuff from me unless your looking for werewolf stuff.  But I do have lots and lots of elves.  And I also have the serpent clothing skin (so I suppose I could do snake sex?).  How about gay elf pron?  My husband has the crammyboy hack for females in his game so he could do up some she-male stuff.  Those okay?  Also for whoever's interested, and is able to spend time hunting I remember seeing a fat suit so someone could concievably make fat pron.  Ummm, If I've said too much and grossed people out I'm sorry but I've at least been trying to brainstorm for the project while Ive been working and thats some of the stuff I came up with.  Theres more if anyones interested in hearing it.  But have to go back to work again and wont be able to reply til 9 hours from now.

Ok, are we really going to try and go for high quality on the pron anyway?  Most of the pron I've seen out there, with the exception of about 1 maybe two percent, is bad:  tasteless, tacky, stupid, pointless stuff that makes me want to knock my head against the wall repeatedly.   Come to think of it TSR makes me feel about the same way.  Anyhow, I dont think we should really have to worry over much about it looking super spiffy or anything; should we?  Also, I can get the xxxsims stuff to run in my game, except for the dance podium.  I just have to remember to delete it all before I save, otherwise I have to move the sims out and then in again.  So I can get the S&M stuff to work.  I wont touch the teen stuff, but other than that I'm flexable.
20  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Ea makes statement March 2 making paysites ok? on: 2009 March 05, 10:58:35
@Devilfish.  I'm willing to help in the project.  I don't have much experience making sim movies.  But I do have mod/hacks that work fairly well with each other, in my game anyway.  Expansion packs I've got are nightlife, pets, seasons.

Thank you rogette.  PM sent.
@Meanie-  I know, but if the internet is good for anything, its spreading information and getting to at least somewhat know people you would never have had an opportunity to before.  Twenty years ago almost no one where I live could say they knew someone from Australia, or could even really ask one how they felt about this issue or that issue.  So hopefully with time and work I can finally have the career I've wanted so for so long.  (Insert evil cackle) And then I shall write a tell all book exposing the seedy underside and dirty little secrets of fast food joints and retail sales.  As an added bonus I shall include the shameful misdeeds of TSR.  I shall bring them all to their knees.

Anywho...sorry about being off topic guys, I dont drink rum but I do have a case of Arrogant Bastard beer that might make up for things.

I dont know, I guess they just miss Barney or something.  The writers who can take someone elses characters or setting and portray it in an accurate and/or believable fashion really have a good chance at a future though.  Again this is only my personal opinion.  Genre's like writing for AD&D novels, Star Trek, Star Wars, Batman and such like can use writers like that.  And in a lot of cases fanfiction writers are doing it for practice.  But I do agree there's a lot of fanfiction thats totaly fubared.  Just have to be careful what you read.  Or you'll be needing eyebleach.
23  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Free Content Pwns Paysite Crap on: 2008 December 14, 04:28:27
I know.  It's pretty disheartening really.  A lot of the good quality new or younger generation of writers I've seen all post on the internet.  Most of them start with fanfiction to to build up a reputation of being able to write well.  I've looked into trying to get some of my work published before. The publishing companies won't even talk to you unless you have an agent; and the agents want to charge you outragious amounts to even look at your work.  At least this has been the case where ever I've been able to find.  Talent comes in a poor second in the money game.

Speaking of talent, the first thought that crossed my mind on those swimsuits was tinfoil.  Hey didn't Devilfish have a hat to match them that she posted in another thread?
24  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Free Content Pwns Paysite Crap on: 2008 December 14, 03:20:54
The way she treated the people who wrote fan-fiction and made fan art about her characters.  They didn't make a profit off of the things they made, but IIRC she still brought lawsuits up against them (at the very least she raised a huge stink about the fanworks existance).  I just personally feel that that's a rather crappy thing to do to the fans of your work who are doing something to get more people interested in your work.  I know that I can't even begin to count the number of actual original works that fan-fiction or fan art led me to.

I hope that explaination makes some kind of sense.

The first one looks like he's wearing face paint.  The body skin doesnt match up to the face.  Both of the sims in that picture look as if they just smelled something unpleasant too.  I agree the second one looks better.  I'm considering downloading it.

While I agree Lestat was a better vampire; I'll never download a sim of any of Anne Rice's characters or buy another of her books.
26  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR Sharing your infomation! on: 2008 December 12, 20:43:48
I know its a pipedream but part of me has this hope that with all the financial troubles EA is having that the real purpose they're inviting T$R high ups there for is so that they can charge them for their illegal activities while they're in U.S. criminal juristiction.  Well, it's a nice dream anyway.

Is the "pretty skirt" supposed to be made out of wood or plastic?  Wood, I think.
