Yes.  You are anti-paysite, anti-filesharing.  You confused me (and most likely others) by arguing about 2 things at the same time.  The first argument being that we're all a nasty bunch of pirates that should clean up our act (in the forum) and then that we're all a nasty bunch of pirates who should clean up our act (file sharing).

I think a lot of people forget about this little piece of genius.

I mean, that pretty much outlines EXACTLY what this site is about, and exactly the attitude the phorum stands for.  PMBD uses the EULA to simply prove that what it's doing isn't illegal, it's not our battle cry for cripes sake.
If people are met with rudeness here, it is because of 2 reasons.
1.  n00bish (lol fun to type) behavior.  Making new threads for OLD news, necromancy, or asking for things.  Course, if those people would take half the amount of time they devoted to choosing an avatar and devoted it to reading stickies, those posts would not happen.  The phorum encourages baptism by fire for those who break those simple rules.  If your skin is thick enough to realize that you were an idiot and start playing by the rules, everyone will forget your past transgressions.
2.  n00bish replies.  You've made a good post and some kid who only has 2 post replies to you telling you your stupid and to go to hell.  In which case you can start a drinking game and just take a swig of rum every time a senior member of the phorum tells that person to stfu.  Not that only having 2 posts means your opinion doesn't matter and no one will listen to you Tongue

I love the phorum.  I don't post here much anymore, but it's only because I don't have anything to say.  Regarding Suzy, I'm disappointed.  I have always liked her, and still do.  I haven't read through this entire thread because it would be too tedious, but I realize that she's in some sort of mess that I wish she could have stayed out of.  She would have done herself a favor by keeping her mouth shut, then she wouldn't have had to have taken the heat for a bunch of decisions and polices that she doesn't have any control over.
18  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Sea Sim & Sun closing? anyone read French? on: 2007 July 02, 01:31:48
I'd never heard of this site/forum.  I wonder if they'll give some of their stuff over to the graveyard.

The first time you see stuff like that we call it losing your internet virginity...

Do you get some sort of prize when you finally reach the stage where you are not grossed out by diseased vaginal lips, or a girl shooting watered down diarrhea out of her ass into her own face anymore?  Is there a word for that point in time when you realize that you're a hardened ass that you doesn't even *see* the porn adverts on the sides of pages anymore?
20  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Misleading links to "free" downloads on: 2007 June 27, 21:23:25
Google also ranks sites based on how many hits a link gets for particular search terms.  TSR is basically an unbeatable monster when you take that into account.

Sucks that someone is attacking their site though.  I DO have sympathy for that.
22  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Paysite or Simbella wannabe? on: 2007 June 25, 14:27:25
I've had 3 native french speakers translate my site for me, 1 spanish, and I did the german (lol yes I'm responsible for the poor german translation) but I have still had people send me letters telling me a sentence is wrong (mainly for the french translation) or whatever.

On the same note:  I also get letters from people who appreciate the EFFORT to translate into a language that they can understand more easily than english.  I've been to a fair number of sites (mostly chinese or japanese) with rotten english translations, I mean... rotten!  But it's better than nothing.  If you're only there to download and not to read then it's not a big deal if every article is included, or every verb is correctly conjugated.  The beauty of language is that it is abstract forms/sounds that transfer an concrete idea from one person to another.  It's just a transaction of meaning, people who put too much faith in the rules and regulations of language are missing the point Tongue
23  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / wicked sims & hosted sites temporarily offline on: 2007 June 19, 11:58:34
I think that an aforementioned post eluded to the fact that this attack comes directly after notice of Wicked Sims policy change to include pay meshes/objects in their uploads.  The policy had been around for a few weeks before the announcement appeared HERE, but drawing attention on PMBD would defiantly attract greater negative attention.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and accuse a TSR groupie.  From the sounds of it, Jessica was attacked first, then Mango, sherrie... seeing a pattern?  I would suspect that the rest of the sites that were attacked were an attempt to throw people off scent.

Pescado mentioned that someone had tried the same thing to this server (no surprise here), and also to Nouk a month or so back.  It may not be the same person but one never knows.

Well, I don't have to like anyone personally in order to be able to work with them towards a common goal.  The enemy of my enemy is my friend and paysites be my enemy! Arr!

Since they want to "be in bed" with both sides, maybe I should stop looking at them as being potential allies.

To be fair, I don't think that the FFSS has ever tried to please paysites.  Rather, they choose to alienate legitimate freesites, and call it collateral damage in their war against [paysites].

lol did you read the first post?  They're not "special" they're just taking a stand by allowing their creators link to pmbd/include payfiles for CC that uses pay files, like meshes, objects, etc.

I think by now everyone is aware that you take every opportunity to say something unpleasant to me, and that is more important to you than doing something positive to bring about the changes you purport to want.

It's not you, ok it is you... but it's also the FFSS.  I mean, who cares if they/you can't list Wicked Sims as a free site anymore?  My biggest issue is that every chance you get you plug that site when it offers nothing to the community other than a seal of approval.  If anything it's hurtful to the community more than helpful.  Jessica at least hosts other sites, free of charge, she bailed my site out, she hosts like 10 sites besides mine at the moment.  She is doing WAY more for the community than the FFSS.  Jessica's site is entirely free, she hosts a gaggle of other sites, asking nothing in return, bends over backwards whenever any of her sites have any issues, and on top of it all, has taken positive steps forward in the fight against paysites... what are you thinking?

And, why should I join your group and make changes to your policy when I don't care what you do?  Like I said, you can all elect a new Emperor of Japan for all I care, nothing your site does has any impact on the sims community except fostering this false sense of your own self worth.

Inge, I think you will find that more people (webmasters at least) agree with me than disagree.  The only difference is that I'm not worried about looking like a bitch in front of other people.
29  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Wicked Sims takes a stand on: 2007 June 17, 05:43:16
Inge I don't understand why anyone would give a rats ass about having your banner on their site or not?  As far as I, and most other ex-members of the FFSS are concerned, you can vote for a new president of the UK.  Who gives a shit?
I wanna know why you felt the need to bring up the FFSS in this thread to begin with? To steal Wicked Sims glory and try to rain some hits to your pet project?  It really amazes me how you can turn every subject around and mention the FFSS out of it.

This thread was about Wicked Sims initiative against paysites, but you decided that, instead of saying  "good job, one more person making a difference and raising awareness about paysites" you say... "Hmm... Problem!  This person who quit my little club because of my actions can no longer be endorsed by me!"  Seriously.  This time, it's not about you.
30  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Will paysite creators ever be welcome back in the community? on: 2007 June 12, 15:25:02
I'd accept anyone.  I really don't have anything against any particular paysite owner other than the whole running a paysite thing.
