46  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Prettiest Freesite Creation Find: Round Two (Apparently) on: 2009 August 24, 04:12:42
I heard that geneticized skins are bad (if you decide to pull them out after some time of playing with them), but if this is the result, I might forget about the warnings. I wanna alien burglars, and alien maids, and alien everything in my game!
This is actually possible without geneticized skins, I think. Somewhere out there there is a hack that allows your NPCs to spawn as Creatures. Like Zombie Maid. Not sure what exactly the hack entails - I'm still trying to find it - but I think it should be possible to have alien NPCs/Townies, and they of course will use the default alien skin. My default currently is FantasyRogue's green Canvas one, so that would be pretty awesome. Crap. Now I have to find that mod! Cheesy
Oh, thanks for the tip. I've never heard of such hack before. I must look for it. On default skins - I have so many downloaded and switch them all the time. I wish there's an option for multiple replacements. The ones that you linked to are simply gorgeous.

Well I looked for that mod and the most I could find of it was a mention, and then a link to an LJ post that no longer exists. I may have to take it to another site's WCIF section, since I, too, would like to have that hack.

Well slap my behind and call me a bad person! But I'd like to say something before this thread dies.
I have no strong opinion or otherwise about linking to Facebook or MySpace, but I would be pissed if someone at TSR linked to mine. This is why I have privacy measures in place; to prevent anons from e-harrassment.

I am not TSR and I am not hacking into anyones accounts or stealing anything that is not purposely and freely put out on the net anyway and easy enough to find, but if you want to play net nanny then fine I will delete it and probably take my ass out of this place too for a while because you know what, of all places I really don't think people here should get up on some moral high horse or start censoring.  Roll Eyes

This is saddening. missangelica's posts were polite, well worded, and one even included a smiley face. I don't believe that she was harping on you. She even said so much as that it was her opinion and she may well not be in the majority.
Are you not better than this? Having a bad day or something? Really, because I don't want to kiss your ass and say "ZOMG please don't leave, we love you so much MWAH!" but there is no reason for you to flounce over something as trivial as this. Your recent posts have in no way been annoying or unpleasant to read, and it makes little sense as to why you suddenly seem... kinda 12, honestly. And you say that this of all places shouldn't be censoring? But you threaten to leave merely because someone voiced their opinion? That sounds to me like a manipulative version of censoring. So, seriously, bad day syndrome, or what?

edit: grammatical error

One of my Sim families got robbed this evening. It should have been a total pain. She's pregnant, they've got a toddler, and everyone's trying to sleep - they don't need the excitement, really.
But then, I saw the most amazing thing.

Alien Burglar. For seriousness. Look at him, isn't he FANTASTIC? I'm thrilled. Point is, this most awesome of things would not have been possible Pooklet's lovely [free] creations:
Pooklet's face templates (We've Got Obsessions)
and
Pooklet's geneticized skins (My Poor Lover)
They're gorgeous. Really.

About Sesame's stuff: I. Luff. You. Guys. Thank you so much for linking to Sesame's stuff! It is so perfect for this house that I was working on all last night. I didn't want it to be all neat-clean-shiny but grunge was definitely out, so I opted for a shabby-chic type thing instead, and... I luff you guys. Sesame's things are gorgeous and just what I needed to finish that house for my Sims (who are currently expecting - can't let baby grow up in a work-in-progress!). I love her creations!

I can't get into the new thread, did they delete that, too?
And I only got screenshots up to page 15 - had to sleep, and my hours are not conducive to the rest of the states'. Undecided

Nah, I doubt they'll ban him. Perhaps someone will mention it to him, but it sure does seem like right now they're still somewhat shmoozey over the Shakeshaft incident. I think he played that very well, indeed. Cheesy

Apparently the uproar accomplished something.

I'd bet $37.45 that if people hadn't complained, it would still be pay. Faulty submission system? Yeah, like the whole fucking site.

Hey, CatOfWar, you use Firefox, right? Have you tried 'ScreenGrab!'? Calalily has the coolest screenshots that capture a whole webpage and it was haunting me! I don't know if that's what she uses, but I found that yesterday and added it to Firefox - it's awesome! Anyhow, I mention it because I noticed you have a lot of screenshots. But, yeah, I've got all current pages (14) on it, although that seems rather redundant with you guys on the case. Smiley
55  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Look at what I made and om nom nom it! (Post your creations pt. 2) on: 2009 August 16, 22:44:34
DO WANT! I only just recently used your kinda Sofa of Substances, and I really love the way they look in game! You're getting great at this stuff, Snarky - pretty soon you'll have all kinds of e-fame with e-stalkers and fangurls with e-boobs to virtually fondle. Kiss
56  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Well here we go, I present the first TS3 Pay items thanks to Peggy on: 2009 August 16, 10:07:48
That second one was hilarious. That person writes well for a 14-year-old. How did they get so good at writing, yet failed so hard at everything else in that post? I do hope someone pointed that person to the booty, though. She [I'm assuming 'she'] would likely be a right pain in the phorum, but if she doesn't find the booty eventually she may end up talking her parents into letting her 'donate' or find a way to go around them somehow. That would suck, regardless of how loldum the person is.

CatOfWar, that was truly well-worded. Don't feel cowardly for one bit about not linking to MTS or MATY; you were specific enough and surely even the people there are smart enough to copy+paste into a google search bar. It's far more important that the thread stays up longer and more people see it! Speaking of which, I've got screenies, particularly of your posts, as they seemed most poignant and it would be a shame to lose them should your topic be deleted. A toast to you, Cat! *pours rum*
58  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Sirona Sims Adds Pay Section? on: 2009 August 13, 07:38:10
Quite possibly that last thing you said, Motoki, but also, she may well be setting it up for TS3 Sims and the like. I don't really think she'll be raking in the dough, though. The one thing of hers that I've seen used most is her tutorial on anti-pixelation. Tongue
59  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame on: 2009 August 12, 23:02:10
There's nothing wrong with them until they start breaking your back and cutting off the circulation to the rest of your body and causing traffic collisions and making a woman think she can get away with wearing even the most tacky of outfits and suffocating young children. Then you got problems. Wink
60  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Sirona Sims Adds Pay Section? on: 2009 August 12, 22:26:38
Is there any possibility that her Donation Packs are a time delay issue?  So that all of her stuff is free but if you donate you get it sooner than everyone else?
No. Some (if not all) of those Sims were free already. She now is changing it. Which is dumb, because those Sims have been around long enough, anyone who wanted them will have already downloaded them - before they were 'premium'.

Because that I would so not have a problem with.

You're likely to find yourself alone in this. I, for one, would very much have a problem with that. Pay is still pay. I don't care what excuses paysite owners want to pull out of their asses, pay is pay and ransoming downloads for cash is pay (thus, wrong!), even if it's only a matter of time. Liana does that sort of thing, and you'll see no one here praising her for it or expressing their contentment with her method. Why? Because bullshit is bullshit, no matter which bull shits it.
