Obviously if women were socialized to say "no" more and sooner, it would not prevent all rapes. But it would prevent a hell of a lot. Every woman I know who was sexually assaulted knew their assaulter, and the ones who were assaulted as teens or adults were too "nice" to say no soon or loud.

I think that would help as well.  I also think that it would make it harder for the rapist to lie to himself about consent.

Which is why every girl should know how to use a gun  Wink

She would be far more likely to shoot herself, or do nothing. The US has plenty of guns, plenty of people who know how to use guns, and it's not exactly a crime-free utopia. It does have about 80 deaths per day by gun violence, including about 8 kids.

That was my thought when I saw it.  Also, I see too much potential for revenge in the product.  "Oh darling, I know you've fallen in love with my best friend and I'll get over it, but please, one more fuck for old time's sake?"

I think that's likely to be a small percentage.  And of course, the assertion that the product will lead to conviction is absolutely ludicrous.  Women with black eyes and other marks don't get convictions because they weren't the "right" kind of woman to get a conviction on their behalf, so the idea that the rapex would lead to conviction is stupid.

Your average conviction on rapes reported to police is 14% (roughly 1 in 3 are reported, giving you an idea of the scale of unreported rape and rape generally) so I don't think this stupid device would make one bit of difference.  Considering that stranger rape is the rarest of all rapes, and it's more likely to be a date rape, then what you *don't* want is a man who's had his sense of manhood injured with your fucking name and address. Say hello stalking and murder victim, who has been raped (after all - the device only activates after penetration) as well.

I've been away for months & actually totally forgot about that one. That's what you get from Fallouting too much.

Then you deserve losing it. Cheesy Tongue

Aaaah! Totally agree with ya hun *nods*
In fact instead of anti-rape condoms two options seem better: karate that bastard - not very common & needs high body skill & training - or run like hell - incompatible with high heels.

A nice thought - but the reality is that most women just freeze, and don't do anything.  They punish themselves afterwards for doing nothing, but it's a common thing trained into girls from a young age.  Even if they have karate lessons, they often freeze.  If you *had* to have an anti-rape device, I would suggest a chastity belt - at least that way you could ensure no penetration anywhere below the belt, and doesn't enrage the rapist quite so much.

Why did i click this link?!
There goes my innocence.

Cala, you're serious? Do you mean by ripping off the vagina? Lips sealed Gosh!

Dr House - you know clicking things here leads to the profound loss of innocence Cheesy

No - I mean by enraging rapists.  Rape is often about making the woman submissive - and proving their power.  Do this to a rapist, and he's likely to feel a great anger and hurt you badly, possibly kill you.

Yes, but they never give out their real phone numbers, which is good considering that their vaginas have sharp, pointy teeth.

Pfft, sharp, pointy teeth in the vagina is so passe, now they just all wear anti-rape condoms

Jesus fucking Christ - what a stupid idea.  Now you'll get a whole heap of murder victims instead of rape victims.  I've known guys that have stealed themselves against kicks in the nuts - and if you use this, they'd kill you. Way to miss the point anti-rape condom person.

Oh no. Some evil hax0rs fucked up TSR's chat... Grin

Nah - TSR is blaming stuff on haxxors in order to convince the FAs etc. that coconut is a haxxor. This will be the consistent message for all tech issues in the coming weeks/months - all haxxoring.

Really? That's cool - I already shop with them because of their coolness with Playstation 2 issues, and this is good to know.   Kiss

Perhaps your only success, and it's never going to happen, would be to have a 30 money back return - and the reason that won't happen - piracy.
Although to be honest, I've never heard of anyone trying to pirate games using a money-back return policy.

It's one of the concerns of people in the area - because its prevalence is hidden.  Those sorts of people are often hidden pirates - people who rent DVDs/games and burn their own copies at home - hence once you break the seal (at least here) unless it's faulty, it's yours forever.  Like the usual stories of women buying expensive clothes and returning them after they've worn them once.

If I chose not to allow them this access I no longer have use to my purchased game and feel I should get my money returned. I have purchased many EA games over the years.  I have purchased multiple copies for I and my many children to use on various computers all at the same ip. This amounts to over 1000.00 over the years. I being forcibly being coerced to agree to whatever they write in order to continue using my legally purchased games without compensation.

This is going to be your biggest problem with the case - the fact that you keep purchasing the games and agreeing to the agreements - for years.  One of the reasons that the recent Spore lawsuit had some success is because they changed the rules and hid the SecuRom inclusion.  A lawyer would argue that if it was your first time, fair enough - but there's only so much "stupid" that the law can control as such **lawyer is unlikely to say stupid or put it this rudely, but this is what they will mean.

Perhaps your only success, and it's never going to happen, would be to have a 30 money back return - and the reason that won't happen - piracy.

I want my koala invasion and I want it now.
Koalas are a poor invasive species because they eat only a single specific food source that isn't native to anywhere else. Maybe if we genetically engineered some deadly killer koalas that were extremely clever, conniving creatures that ate humans...like, say, "Phascolarctus Bityness"...

You would like the drop bears, Pescado.  But they could live quite happily in California - LA has a surfeit of eucalyptus trees - they're drier over there than they are here and constantly fall onto houses, so you would get plenty of drop bears raining down eating you all.

Every animal "alters" nature just by being there. Look at what happens to an ecosystem when an outside plant or animal gets put there -- rabbits in Australia, various water-hungry plants
I'd like to point out that what you're describing there are alien species introduced by the idiocy of people. Rabbits were introduced by white people in austrailia because they thought it would make them feel at home to hunt game that they had from home.

Oh there were the height of stupid experiments in Australia.  They introduced cats in order to get the rabbits, and the cats mostly died or went feral eating all the things that didn't have inbuilt fear of fucking cats; and they introduced moths to get rid of the damn prickly pear they introduced too.  If they had genetic engineering in those days they would have invented some super creature designed to eat prickly pears and rabbits, but that they later found had a desire for arable land and humans.

Sounds more like a security breach doesn't it?  Jesus Christ - why would you give these people your Paypal details?

Actually, I'd buy that this really has nothing to do with TSR and their general fuck-upness.

Yes, but this isn't looking good for them since they've claimed they're being regularly hacked by the assorted pirate haxxors.  Lies come back and bite you in the arse, Thomass.

Not everything.

Lots more things are dangerous, and lots of them are far more poisonous than shit anywhere else.  You forget the killer octopus, the deadly jellyfish, the crocs, stone fish, cone fish, earwigs, sharks ranging from great white to mako and tiger, and the nut-removing roo.

But paperbeth, apart from redback spiders, on a daily basis in a city, you are unlikely to encounter any of these things without entering into their habitat.  Asia has some incredibly dangerous animals, as does South America - but no one freaks out too much about them.
