Okay, possibly I missed it, but what exactly is the one question that hasn't been answered? Calalily, I went through and read your posts and didn't see any of your questions; statements, replies, yes, but no questions. Granted, I could have missed something entirely.

First off, I want to apologize for the rashness of the post I made last night. It was rude and could have been handled a lot better if I hadn't flown into a fit of rage, and for that I'm sorry.

So, I'm going to attempt to clarify some things with my head clear. If anyone has any questions, whether they've been voiced already or not, both myself and Aikea have no problem answering them in the best way we can.

Yes, we can see that there were 150 posts in that thread and that there was no opposition concerning it (that we're aware of anyway, for all we know, someone may have said something and it could have been deleted; neither I nor Aikea did, but it's possible someone did) speak volumes concerning TSR's manipulation and "brainwashing"? I'd wager a good many FAs, us included, would have opposed the sharing of personal information if it was presented that way. However, it wasn't. It was a list of "The Banned Pirates", therefore, for Aikea and I at least, it wasn't necessary to do more than glance at the list and move on.

Aikea's post in that thread certainly doesn't mean she supported the information sharing; after all, she could have simply clicked a 'new' tag and have been taken directly to Anita's comment, or thereabouts, bypassing the first post completely. So we honestly hadn't seen the actual information more than a handful of times, if that. I think we're both embarrassed that we were naive enough not to connect the list as TSR sharing personal information. A lot of what we said on TSR is mortifying, in retrospect.

We don't think we, or anyone for that matter, should have a 'get out of jail free' card simply for having a free site. I'm not excusing the thread, or Aikea's post, but I'm simply trying to give you our perspective. We simply did not connect that list as the sharing of personal information. Was that stupid of us? Sure it was, and maybe some of you feel that that's hardly an excuse, but that's really all there is to it, as far as our involvement is concerned anyway.

Finally, look, we're trying here. Are you concerned that, since you think we condoned the sharing of personal information, we might turn around and do the same again? If so, I can assure we have no such intentions. I'm not sure how much my assurances are worth, but there you have it. Like I said, if anyone has questions, we want to answer them. That's why we're here, posting. Yes, my being a bitch last night wasn't a good example of that, but it was a rash, hackles raised, defensive response. An uneccessary one at that.

I fail to see how anything Aikea said that was presented in any screenshots from TSR painted her as condoning the sharing of personal information. Furthermore, what you seem to fail to realize is that it wouldn't have made a damned difference if we'd spoken against the information sharing then. Thomas would have still done it, period. On that note, we most certainly did NOT share any personal information ourselves, then or ever. I don't know how anyone could have gotten that idea from the screenshots coconut posted, but who knows?

Frankly, I'm disgusted that you, and others, seem to feel the need to put the blame on Aikea, and me, and whoever was privy to this information, after we've LEFT. Is that no longer good enough for anyone? Do you need an accessible scapegoat to start throwing stones at? Aikea came in here to point out that she wasn't, in any way, denying anything she said. Does she regret posting that shit? Yes. The same way we both regret having been a part of TSR for so long. What, precisely, do you want us to do now? I've asked that previously when accusations were flung at us in this thread earlier, you know. Are you going to turn us out, disgrace our names, issue a bounty on our heads? Do you want a hand-written apology from us personally, delivered to every person whose information was shared, in-person, with a large monetary condolance attached? Seriously, what the fuck? We don't represent TSR in any possible way anymore, so what on earth can we do about it now?

Yeah, I know, I only seem to speak up to defend Aikea. Whatever. She's my best friend and I'm not going to sit idly by while she's slandered in such a pointless, repetitive way, and while her fucking honesty is questioned. Christ.
4  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Aikea and Gelydh have their own site... on: 2008 September 19, 19:07:37
Wait, either I misunderstood or something, but hadn't you and Gelydh taken your goodies down from TSR when you switched over, Aikea?
And if I had a site, I'd totally do it.
I like what Nymphy's been doing to your GB's though

At the time we left, we were so fucking sick of TSR's bullshit (and the trouble we had getting out stuff made free ALONE), we just said, "Screw it." and simply uploaded most of our TSR sets over to our site. As a random note, the TSR sets on our website are clean, sans tracking device files that came directly from our respective harddrives, so grab them there if you have a choice. Smiley Oh, and we love Nymphy and are very envious of her ballsy-ness.

Pity about the banning, though, otherwise sabotage would be infinitely hilarious. Especially now that we're apparently being flaunted about on their Retired Artists list.

Much appreciation to everyone who's taken the time to mention us on their own websites, by the way! Seriously, the support we've gotten in these last three/four months has been crazy fantastic and we're really glad we can properly create stuff for all of you now. Grin

By the same token, the free community was known to say unkind things about them as well, but they don't seem to hold it against us.

For the record, we don't.  Grin

Aikea, if you want to be truly free, you need to come to terms with what you said and done in the past, even if you feel differently now.

Gelydh, this works for you too, of course.

Did we not do just that? Are we supposed to bathe ourselves in holy water and atone for our sins by bashing the EA EULA against our heads? I'm just wondering what on earth you mean by "come to terms" with things we've said.

To clarify further, that thread wasn't a, "Here's the Personal Information of All the People We Banned" thread. It was, "Look at Who Got banned Today". That's why we saw it once or twice and that's it. I'm sorry that neither of us can hop into a motherfucking TARDIS, go back in time to October of 07 or whenever, and valiantly demand the list be taken down (not that they'd listen, everyone should know that), but since I can't, that's all I can say.

Aikea phrased it better in her response on GoS.

To add to what Aikea said, we had nothing to do with that. I didn't think ANY FAs had anything to do with it, at least not when we were there. It's Thomas's post, he and the staff(?) would have done it in any case.

And for clarification, no, neither of us support sharing personal information like that. Realize they've no doubt done the same with us by now.

ETA: Furthermore, why on earth would we have witheld that information? We left TSR, we're so fucking against TSR at this point that we ended up getting banned ourselves. If we'd thought of that, we'd have shared, but it simply did NOT cross our minds.

Aikea, do the knocked down objects use repository? *Crosses fingers* I have some destroyed looking justadoor recolors I downloaded that'd go nice with your set.

Hell yes! We're addicted to the repository technique.  Grin

Yep, good point. Not everyone is good at the same things. Being able to texture and being able to mesh carry the same weights... but the only problem I have with this whole ordeal, is that people take meshes that other's work hard on, and claim they made them, then get credit. There's nothing really fair or positive about that no matter how many times you colmb over it.

(...)

I was just making a point, saying that being able to mesh doesn't give anyone the excuse to ooze a- "My stuff is the greatest thing EVAR!" -type of attitude. Which is the impression that I've always gotten from her, particularly when she'd whine and moan about the pirates in the FA and SA forums. Then her minions would come along and have the AUDACITY to say that they were "just jealous" of her "mad skillZ" and she'd just lap it up.

On a random note, for me, personally, I can do a mesh in a few minutes and then take hours upon hours texturing it. I'm sure it is different for other people, but that's just how it is for me. In any case, meshing and texturing go hand-in-hand. The difference is that texturing can stand on its own, whereas meshes need decent textures to be appealing. For example, take my cardboard robots boxes or Aikea's paper - EXTREMELY simplistic meshes that are made interesting and useable due to the textures.

But I'm venturing off-topic. I agree with RoundRobin's post, though. It's the sort of thing that, while I've not experienced it firsthand, have witnessed it happening to others.
11  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Poor Atwat.... on: 2008 June 18, 02:07:33
I'm sorry, but I find meshing to be a helluva lot easier than texturing. For another, isn't that the same as saying Xandher is worse than Anita just because she doesn't create her own meshes? Honestly, 99% of creating is in the texturing. After all, flood-filling a mesh doesn't make it look nice. *looks pointedly at Grizzelda*

Yes, she's learning, I read that; however, why was she made a FA if she's still "learning"?

I'm kind of curious how much an artist makes at TSR, and how much Thoma$$ makes by comparison.

Featured Artists supposedly make no more than $300 per month. *goes back to lurking*
