You know, I think she (he?) has some stuff posted on MTS2. I'm pretty sure I followed a link to that website just the other day, actually. Their argument about needing the money or going pay is pretty weak, seeing as how they obviously are already aware of the fact that they can post their downloads at MTS2 for free.

Not only is their stuff not particularly outstanding, but I can honestly say that even if I *was* inclined to donate money to their website, that demand would turn me off immediately. *shakes head* The greediness of people never ceases to amaze me.

WTF? Who is saying TSR is well organized!? It's horribly UNorganized. They have all these filters, but since many uploaders choose to ignore that function, you're not really helped that much if you choose 'skip sets' for instance.
They also have a whole lot of stuff in the wrong categories. A WHOLE LOT.
I only have and play the base game so I would know.
It's not only the free items that are categorized wrongly. It's all over the place.
They really need to step up.

This is one of the many, many reasons I don't go to TSR. A few weeks ago, I went there to download a computer tor my sims hat I had seen in someone's picture... never again. Once I got there, I wasn't even able to tell what expansion packs the download was compatible with, and attempting to look at the other computers was a nightmare. I ended up replacing it with a much better one from MTS2, and it was a heck of a lot easier to find. Smiley

It's good you're using it as a conversation starter... from the context, i thought you meant it was for a special kind of treatment.. I just imagined all the catholics grouped up in the corner of the room or something, sheltered from the rest of you.

LOL! Oh heavens no. There's been enough class wars in this country, I'm not going to start a new one by myself. No, I just feel it's a good thing to teach children that their way of doing things isn't the only way.other families do things differently. I hear it makes for more tolerant adults.
Besides that, I think it's nice to know if you're raising your kid, for example, vegetarian, so I know she's not supposed to eat meat. (Would have saved me a world of trouble if I had known that before shit hit the fan.) Different situations call for different approaches. For example, if I saw this girl have a meat sandwich, I'd ask her if her mum would approve, maybe open up a conversation about how she feels about it and why she's going against her parents' wishes. (Just using the example above, it applies to all kinds of things) It's not to single kids out and call attention to the fact that they're 'different'. It's to avoid drama.

Besides, you're not just their teacher. You're not there to stuff dry facts in their heads and bugger off. You're an authority figure. For toddlers, you're the one who knows best and can always tell them how to do things right, simply by virtue of being an adult. That is a huge responsibility and if I tell them something that goes directly against what they hear at home, that's going to upset them. I feel like I should know these kids outside the classroom. I want to know how they feel and how they react to things. And I'm not going to be able to do that if I don't know what the hell is going on with them outside of school.

I'm also in the process of becoming a teacher here in the U.S., and agree wholeheartedly with you. Granted, my target age group is high schoolers, but the idea is still the same. There are too many teachers who just want to throw some information up on the board and go home. I've had some wonderful teachers in my own academic career, and they all expressed the same attitude that you have.

Quinctia: Your house is lovely! I will definitely have to go and download that straightaway. I'm always on the lookout for good houses with as little (or preferably no) custom content, since I hate building houses but don't like cluttering up my game with files I'll never use again.

Miss Read: I have to agree with the other comments. Your Sim is beautiful!  And even better, it's not just another template face-Sim with a little custom make-up slapped on top of it.

People never cease to amaze me, and the age thing is no excuse. Even at sixteen, I knew that when other people were paying for things and sharing them with me, I didn't make demands about it. I know that the OP will probably never read this, but I felt like throwing my two cents in. Smiley

I sincerely hope no one ever actually requests Atwa's work. I would probably fall off my chair in shock.
