Sneaky...

It was a paysite when the above linked topic was started. About a week after the topic began the site went free: http://phorum.mustnotbenamed.com/viewtopic.php?p=59807#59807

OK, if you were monitoring her and moderating her, then how in the fucking hell was she able to ban you? How did she get access to those kinds of power if you didn't give it to you? You don't make sense, go way til you do.

She doesn't make sense because I believe she and all of the others are actually Jan in various identities. That can be the only possible explanation for this "behavior".

The storyline wasn't particularly fantastic (it was good - don't get me wrong).  It was the robots I liked - the transformations... cause you can't have a Transformer movie without transformation.  Cheesy

We just watched The Transformers last night. The storyline wasn't all that (especially the stupid mushy parts they liked to put in) but the special effects and action scenes totally rocked. When my 3 year old saw the first transformation his eyes got as big as saucers and he uttered 1 word... "Dang!" I think that says it all regarding the special effects and action scenes.

ROFLMAO! This is priceless!

They're reported as a paysite and turn out to be Pirates instead. Go figure.

And...

Llama, llama, llama, llama, llama.

You can still think I'm cool. I can speak Spanish! I know it's not as smexy as Russian but still...

Taco. Burrito. Frijoles. Guacamole. Queso. Tortilla. Leche. Tequila (No comen el gusano... ). Pollo.

See... still smexy!

(And I've managed to make myself hungry. Dammit.)

From what I can see it's not a pay site. Yes, they ask for donations but that seems to be to keep advertisements off their forum and to buy more upload space. It does not look like they give anything in return for the donations except their gratitude.

They do have a restricted forum where they are sharing pay files such as Peggy and Raon's newest hairs, objects, etc. They have a list of requirements to get into the forum that they expect everyone wanting access to meet. The requirements aren't that hard - no warnings from an admin, don't spam the  forum, reaching a certain post limit with helpful, informative posts. In essence they're trying to encourage an active, friendly forum and are using the pay files as the reward. More power to them. The files they are offering as a reward aren't obtainable only through them, though (like Simbella's were). They're all in the booty (at least as far as I saw).

So, nothing there for us to do... except, maybe snag some of the cute outfits Yoshi and Nisa have created for our simmies...

(Disclaimer - I do NOT speak Russian. I used a combo of Google and Babelfish to translate the site. It is quite possible that I missed something that would negate the above statements.)

Simplejim, don't worship anyone here, please.  Don't add to their already inflated egos.

What in the hell are you talking about? I have no ego. Wink

SimpleJim - please, worship away!  Cool

Goatse hasn't been sprung unsuspected on me yet - I went looking it - god help me. I....went.....looking......for.....it.

You went looking for Goatse? OMG. *falls over laughing*
Well, we already knew you had a twisted mind. That just proves it.

And ModTheSims2 has too many rules...uploading there is hellish at times. Its easier not to even try to upload there. It puts creators off, majorly. Bleh

I agree. When I read the threads introducing their new set of rules I had a feeling that quite a few of those that uploaded there at the time would find alternatives. Quite a few have and the dwindling downloads show this.

I was going to upload some stuff I made there, but I heard they're really picky with the submissions.

I find that an absolute hoot. They may say they are picky but have you looked through their stuff lately? 80% of the lots are cookie cutter, no effort offerings. The objects, for the most part, are uninspired and... well, boring. And don't even get me going on the quality of the textures... It's gotten so blah there that I've started hunting down the small, out of the way forums and sites where a good bit of the creativity, talent, and effort ran off to.

Hmm. Has anyone else noticed that free Sims 2 communities, such as MTS2 and InSim seem to be more quiet nowadays?

I agree with you. I do a tour of the main sites each day just to see what's going on in the community and the last week or so it's been dead. MTS2 is really slow with uploads. Usually there's at least 3-4 pages of new stuff a day. The last few days though there's been barely a page and a half.

People are losing interest. Sad thing is, EA doesn't give a flying rat turd.
