691  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / ok i'm confused on: 2006 November 13, 09:52:04
Ok why don't I just talk to myself as no one else seems to understand what I am saying   Sad

Ah ok I think I see where I fucked up.  Not his site, the other site/s that make you post a certain number of times.

Yeah I was talking about the other person's shared file collection who wants you to post 3 times.

I didn't think Pescado minded who looked at his collection.

Or if you meant he couldn't join up under those circumstances, then if the people are manually vallidating people they could respond to a request to join and validate the account without an email

Lol!  I am always amused by just how Pescado manages to get us all scurrying about accommodating him.  What a character! Smiley

Ah yes, the last post had not been added last time I looked.  That's a bit disappointing.

One of the hallmarks of a sock puppet is the puppet always types or spells worse or has a more foreign accent than its master.

You don't need to make people post a certain number of times to find out who they are, even a "spy" can do that.  Just enable the email validation stuff in the sign-up.   Or you could do manual activation and make it dependant on them identifying themselves properly.

It's getting almost like there are some adults using that site...

I think Pescado's been planted in the community by EA

Mr. Teadrinker uses Godaddy and he's fairly happy with them.

Are you talking about my host?  They have an excellent reputation - you can read their support forums before joining and get an idea of what type of complaints they get and how they fix them.  Lunarpages.

My site is $7US a month for 35Gb disk space and 800Gb transfer.  There is no need for most of these sites to charge.  If the artiste spends one less evening going out and one more evening prettying up her website, she's paid for the month already.

I'm far more worried about PayPal's part in this.  I had no idea they pass on stuff like my real name and contact details to people I buy stuff from.  What's with that?  Rather defeats the object.
