1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Insim under new management! on: 2008 December 03, 00:43:30
Skye,

I reckon it's HANDS OFF, because of what deathtowalt said, there is proof (I am guessing here, deathtowalt seemed pretty factual on this) that Eric was proposing to stick around and update InSIM for a year. Obviously he has no obligation to keep going after that.

However, having said that there is conflicting issues. Skadi: Are you saying that it's been updated for Apartment Life and that Eric has nothing to do with that update? Maybe I am reading it wrong, but some clarifications on what Eric's involment with InSIM since the latest EP would be handy.

If InSIM will be left in a corner of the sinking InSIMWALT ship, it will be Eric's prerogative to do what he wants to do with it. By this stage, with little information to go by, and only his past actions to judge him by, he will let it rot.
So don't bother trying to save it, unless you want to clone it and give it to a team interested enough to keep modding it. Eric has no copyright to it, since it's all EA code.

Well, I don't know about proof exactly. Just Walt's word in the first announcement. In the first announcement, which was posted somewhere in this thread, he mentioned that Eric would be around to work on the InSim object for a year. It has also been mentioned that the reason for this might be because Mansion and Garden stuff functions as its own .exe, so the object might need to be updated. Let me go back and see if I can find the specific posts and pages these were mentioned on.

ETA: "Eric has already agreed to continue to update his InSIMenator module for at least another year." This is from the e-mail Paden and other staff members at InSim received, and the subsequent announcement that Walt pasted on the site. She posted it on the first page of this thread.

ETA2: "Someone pointed out in another thread that the .exe file for M&G Stuff is, in fact, EP 9. Apparently this is because it comes with a new option in build mode and a new interaction." This is from Owl on page 15 of this thread.

Good point Pineapplebrain!  (Love the handle lol)

Thank you. I am both prickly and delicious. And I'll make a post on the BBS when I get home from work around 5 if nobody gets to it first. And the idea of posting it at a news site was mentioned...Perhaps the owner of snootysims would make an announcement to stay away from Insim if we asked nicely?

I know this may be a dumb question, and I have read the thread in its entirety, but has anyone gone over to the BBS to let the 12s know about the situation and to stay off InSim? I don't remember it being mentioned, but if it has, my apologies.

Yeah sorry. I'm silly. I just got confused when it said, "click the pictures to download." And I was actually able to click. Well, they look gorgeous!

Okay, I'm probably a dunce, but I'll ask this anyway. I click your link. It takes me to the website - specifically the Sherwin-Williams page. I click the walls. Multiple. Each one downloads something called "orange crush." I open the rar...picture looks nothing like the walls previewed. Am I doing something wrong, or is this an error?

Oh...and I prefer the walls to be a big set and if possible not Sim2Packed. I know Parsimonious does this. But if that's not possible - no big deal. I'll still download them. They're gorgeous.

I can understand her wish for neutrality - as long as it's true neutrality, and I made a reply to the whole pay/free announcement saying as much. If links to paysites are permissible, so too should links to filesharing sites ...otherwise I will no longer feel comfortable frequenting the site.

I know I'm derailing slightly off topic, but has anyone been to InSim today? It seems like kathy is back..and there will be some staff changes. I wonder what that means for BBB?

"And last but not least, I do understand from a number of pms that there are some concerns regarding staff, these will be dealt with over this weekend and there will undoubtedly be changes made to the staff. I am currently looking for 2 moderators that will be able to assist with site duties so if you are an active member and mature please private message me." - quoted from the front page.

Well, as has been said most of InSim is not exactly pirate friendly at the moment, but I participate in the contest forum which is moderated by Kielen and brendabond, and while there aren't necessarily links to the booty, there's rampant mention of it...and never any naysayers. And if anyone asks what the booty is, PMs are immediately sent out. And it seems like BBB doesn't even monitor that section. So at least one section allows the booty to be mentioned. However, since it's exclusively a contest section, I'm sure they wouldn't allow a link to anything that's been mentioned in this thread.

Personally, I think it's great as it is. However, I think it should be included with the Om-nom monster.

Yep. Great..great.

I would love for my kiddies, if I had any, to see this.
And the caption, "Has your sim slept with every girl in the neighbourhood? Then maybe he deserves this T-shirt."

Ohh you should! Even though I'm not particularly into the whole goth look, everything there is so shiny!!!

I love the smell of failure in the morning (or evening rather). I can't wait to see TSR explode.

Mayhaps we can recruit her and discover all of the twisted inner workings of TSR.
14  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: This little bastard did it again... on: 2008 March 05, 02:10:13
I've left a message in their guestbook (SAU) informing them of what OpenHouseJack is doing, just as I did when Chaz tried to include one of their hairs with a (really hideous) Shakira Sim that I don't think ever go uploaded. Hopefully the creators at SAU will have a nice (or angry) little word with OHJ and he'll remove it. Hopefully.

Nii, it took me awhile too to realize I have to click on the underlined part.

Gorgeous hair, Nouk. Just out of curiosity, were you planning on uploading the normal looking male hair you showed us a little while ago? If not, no big deal. I don't mean to be impatient, and I'm certainly not demanding it. I'm just curious.
