I'm so glad that a different less rude forum is taking screenies of here for her.   Cheesy

If you consider those stupid IMVU dolls kissing and dry-humping while wearing provactive clothing 'porn', then I guess there was porn.  I don't consider that porn.  I never got porn ads on the main site.  Only the adult site, which is expected.

Personally, the user-friendly model of vB is what i'm accostomed to.  It's what I prefer.

If you want the input of the original mods/admin of InSim, I would suggest posting a poll at the Sims Oasis.  I think that's where they all are now.

Not porn ads.  Porn spam.  I mean spam bots that signed up for the forum, and spammed threads with hardcore porn.

If you had to spend time chasing down porn spam then something wasn't set up right.  On both my sites we've rarely had to do that - sounds like another thing that just didn't work as it should have done on insim....

That was an everyday multiple occurence.  At the non adult side of it.  I don't know really what happened over at insim adult.  I wasn't a mod over there.

Well as the most non staff staffer at insim, I don't mind switching away from vBulletin.  Would that, at least in theory, cut down on the amount of time spent running round insim removing hardcore porn spam?

Minus the ones with the teeth, cause I don't really do pictures of any kind, I'm sure I'll slowly acquire them all.  All I say!

Courtney, I love the colours you've done and probably not use any other versions of colours. I like the whole maxis-match thing you see and prefer just 1 colour version in each bin. But that's just my opinion Cheesy Others might love different variations.

I can understand that.  I can usually do two versions of a style after that I kind of just "gloss over" that choice.  lol.  Ok.  So what I'd do then is do the 4 "base colors" packed together and then maybe have the other options available to download if you want them.  (all binned of course.)

Hey Courtney colors wise I love multiple shades of brown. I'd also look at either brightening up the red or adding some highlights. As for the blond, I'd maybe go for some honey tones, or platinum - both of which I personally love.  When it comes to non-maxis match hair I like to have lots of different color options for each style so that it can be as realistic as possible.

I can probably go platinum with blonde.  The original is kind of a honey blonde.  Those always end up looking... pinky... when I do them.  So I'll do two different ones.  The one there, and then a variation choice for each.  Packed separately so you don't have to have them all if you only wanted the one.

Also, very cute moddle!

Thanks.  Not mine, though.  That's Kaitlyn, by ComicalMuse, grown up.  She's Here at insim if you want her.

Ok, So I'm doing some recolors of the lovely lovely Carnaby Sims Bob.  I really rather enjoy that hair. (and the clothes... really, the whole site at large.)  I figure, if you like a hair, having different natural color options for it just makes it even better.  So far I've worked this up:

I feel like I need a different type of shade of brown and a different type of shade of red as well.  (Possibly a different type of shade of blonde, but all my blondes look the same when I'm done even when I go for "different shade.")

So... lighter brown?  strawberry blonde?  A good idea/necessary or totally superfluous and a waste of time?  Any ideas of another shade of blonde as well?

Omigod! I thought I was the only one! Do you have gaps in your head too?

Just the one.  Hence why I only pull back the bit at the top back end.  Why do you have more?  Soo jealous if you do.

I only wish I could do that.  But, I do have that thing where my hair stabs me in the back every time I move my head.  I don't mind though, it reminds me of the good old days with Atwat at TSR.

See, that's why the chewing gum is so nice.  Softens up my hair to keep it stuck to my head directly.  So what if sometimes it's still moving long after I've stopped.  There's always a price to pay for beauty.

Oh I'm sorry to hurt your feelings. Do you need me to add some polys onto your head to make it feel better?

Puh.  I don't need your pity-polys.  Don't you know who does my hair?  That's how you know it's good.  I can recommend you if you want.  Just start chewing on your gum now, so it'll be just right in a month or so.

What the hell is this shit!?
<picture snipped out>

Heh.  Don't be so judgemental Missbonbon!  I often take a very small bit of the hair at the back of my head and tie it into a ponytail with old chewing gum that's lost its flavor.  It's high fashion!  You just don't understand.    Cry

heh.  That's hilarious.  Cheesy

well, different textures can be applied. lol.  IIRC, the mesh itself is pretty much the same shape as the large flowery nightgown that came with the game... and then it had an interesting texture applied to it. (by the good people at PPL.)  they have it there in blue, and i like it a lot, and decided I needed to have it in many more colors.  but i'll get it in bodyshop, and see if maybe I can finesse something interesting with the initial texture, and then something with a totally different texture as well.

well, doesn't liana photoskin?  I add shading in and texture by hand, generally speaking.  the textures right there that you see were initially done by meshmaker, over at Poison Pink Lemons.  I redefined the texture, after I recolored the dresses, but the initial drape you see there, was not an original idea.  But yes, on the things I do, I add layers in and add highlights and shadows manually to where the outfit would naturally denote a shade or light.  I'm pretty sure Liana photoskins, and does not adjust where light and shadows fall.  (even when i do mild photoskinning, i still adjust light and shadows so they make sense.)

yeah, i think so too, I like the solid ones, but I feel like I need some with a pattern.  Maybe batik fabric?
45  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Look at what I made and om nom nom it! (Post your creations pt. 2) on: 2008 August 12, 15:06:05
working on some dress recolors of a dress from Poison Pink Lemons.

I feel like it needs MOAR colors, or maybe a pattern of some sort?  Any thoughts?  (not plaid, courtney and plaid patterns don't go well together, as I make them look like the bad.)
