SparklePlenty, omg! That has to be one of the most unique male simmies I've seen! I'm so glad Ash's genetics were helpful in his creation.

I keep putting my main webpage design off.. because I'm trying to get an original sim model for it... but I'm not sure who will be my website model... :/
I think I'll create a few sims after Dilly (based on some of my original characters) and maybe I'll ask for opinions on which is prettiest... :/ I just need a really pretty sim for my main frame layout.... I have two in mind.. but I've not completed their hair yet... :/

Honestly, credit needs to be thrown at HP at MTS2 for my sims though.
Because if she didn't post that information she discovered about that "experimental" technique on editing the sim facial structure in milkshape.. there is no way I could do accurate anime sims. The bodyshop sliders do not cut it at all for their.. unique facial structures.. Everything on Dilly's face had to be touched up via MS3D...  Low cheekbones and a pointed short chin with a slender jawline... make fugly dents in the face without MS3D... that and his unattainable "escaflowne" nose. The series he's from has the characters drawn with extra long noses on profile.. at least long in the anime sense.. but slender when front facing.. :/  A million times more irritating than Ash Crimson was...

I cannot get over how helpful HP's tut was for me.

but I wanted to post my Dilandau simmie. He's all done but the clothing... I'm doing with and without armour. So two outfits.. (without armour is PJs.. they're cute.. XD)

His Hair is all ages, all genders + animated.. I'm going to do my usual 10 colours for it. I sent so long doing the animation bone assignments... but I got his hair to fluff around real nice now.. <3
His crown is shiny and is not alpha. So the mesh I made in that shape and the jewel is 3d... the crown reflects gold.. the jewel glitters in-game. (I try to shape my meshes without using alphas.. alphas on bodies if used too much cause bleed thoughs or interfere with opacities on some hair meshes........

I tried lowering his cheek bones and extending the nose slightly. I thought he needed that too myself actually, but I was afraid his animations around the lower cheeks would look odd with the change. There's a bit of dissatisfaction there, but it's worth the accuracy. No updated pictures yet though.

So I succeeded in maintaining his persona?

I've only done the face... I'm doing a hairmesh and need to mesh his outfit.
It's really difficult getting 2D characters to look right in 3D without removing too much detail. I spent ages adjusting his face via MS3D.. bodyshop alone would not cut it at all....

I think it will look more accurate with his hair.



I'm working on hair now. I'm curious now about how he'll look with the right hair.

My personal simming goal is actually to translate anime/game characters well. I'm very happy to know Ash was a success in that respect.

I  find some people get the idea that anime just means deforming the eyes way too big and squashing up the nose... I think that's the reason people fear anime sims so much.

I actually made a skinset for the specific purpose of doing anime/game sims. All other skins out there (although gorgeous for real people) don't translate too well to anime. (Plus... I actually could not get Ash's anime-esque long slender nose in bodyshop. His face mesh was actually extracted from the game and modified via MS3D. I'm going to do another sim shortly.. but one more difficult than Ash.. because he's anime only and has no 3D game translation to work with..... I'm not saying who I'm making yet though.. it's a surprise... XD

My goal is for people to recognise him even without his hair and outfit.. so the face needs to match very accurately. <3

Actually, I wanted to post here in particular seeing as I'm not too sure how many pirates make a habit of checking out MTS2.

I'm in the process of doing my own site with special thanks to nouk, but I still avidly upload to MTS2.

Anyways, he's not up yet (he's in moderation still. But I wanted to share because I spent weeks on this guy.) <3
 Actually, technically you can DL him right now from my journal. The only difference is that MTS2 version is barbie skinned. The Ash DL in my journal is non-barbie. I personally don't really like barbie skintones. But that's only personal preference.

He is all mine except for the nail mesh that belongs to shadylady482.
But all other meshes and textures are mine... so huge project.....
