1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Would Anyone Care to Chime In? on: 2006 November 28, 11:23:45
I started debating on the 'net at 15 (in Dawsons Creek, heh) and it was the best way for me to learn. If you're surrounded by rainbows and sparkly shit its an even bigger shock when you go to a forum and are ripped apart. The debate that's on Boolprop was simillar to the debate I faced against the other adults and I never had an issue keeping up with them.

I think assuming the younger kids can't debate is quite insulting to them.

And yeah. What REALLY fries me is the teen outfits that are hoochie-mama-wear.

Clearly you have not seen the terrible stuff made for the child and toddler Sims. *shudders*

The things that confuse me is when people tells someone its looks "exactly like it should!" Seriously, when a Maxis couch is used in a Friends coffee shop, it looks NOTHING like the show.

I'm not sure what this community has done with its heart and soul and respect for what it's given. I'll keep the work I pour myself into for myself and my friends. I suspect a lot of mesh creators may begin doing the same. Yeah, isn't this Body Shop thing a -great- thing for the community?

Oh boo fricken hoo. This community lost its heart and soul a LONG time ago, the day that paysites became accepted. I remember when I could go to a site and not have to see if it was pay. I could download nice stuff for free. Like EVERY OTHER GAME OUT THERE.

On another note, I HATE when mods reply to people and then close the damn thread. Its so fucking immature.

*sniff* I feel so honoured! Vulture validated my life by telling me that my opinion was of importance! Now I can find the strength to live my life for just one more day.

Oh, wait. I live in the real world. As you were.

Wait, isn't charging for the items and the work going against the (minimal) restrictions EA put up? You stupid, stupid twit.

I'd consider donating to a site filled with nicely made, basic everyday clothing and furniture like what I can find at Wal-mart.

I'm so with you. I HATE the clothes that everyone makes. Most of them are stuff I wouldn't be caught dead wearing.

Objects I take either/or, simply because I do like the minimilist style, but I can find other stuff out there that's not.
8  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Top it off with another gouge from EA on: 2006 November 12, 06:23:36
Is that why I never have a problem logging in? My EA Downloader/Link is never logged in.

Personally, I like the Maxis way of clothes/hair ect. I don't like the real looking Sims wearing stuff I wouldn't be caught dead in. The objects I get online, but most of my clothes are Maxis ones.

Personally I'd rather give my money to EA than to paysites. I know with EA that the items are good quality, and look nice in my game.

VitaSims stuff looks nice, but it bleeds into the walls! How can you charge for something that isn't top notch quality?
11  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / nice message on: 2006 November 08, 11:09:23
*giggles* Sorry!

The only site I ever paid for in S1 was WDS. They had some stunning stuff for Sims1. (the ballet room was divine!) Their Sims2 stuff, sadly is utter shite. As is SimFreaks. (charging per item? The fuck?) Come to think of it, is there really any hughely succesful S1 site that mad the switch? (TSR dosen't count)

I have paid for S2, but it was such an epedemic. I've now cancelled my TSR subscription and have no intention of ever paying again.

Seriously, some of the 'donation' sets I've been looking at have been flat out ugly and/or badly made. Now I can half understand paying for quality stuff, but seriously? There is a LOT of stuff that looks terrible! I have to go look at the sites to make sure this is stuff I'll even let in my game.
13  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / nice message on: 2006 November 07, 09:32:52
I was around the Sims community when Livin Large was announced and I can assure you that paysites were not around then. People had already started to create objects, but no-one started charging till Mall of the Sims. The outrage it was huge. Then they all realised there was money to be made and they all started going pay.

When it comes to Sims2 charging was around before hand. WDS was defentitly charging for clothes before we even had the damn game! Most people were against it then and consedering how quickly this site address had spread, most are quite happy with these items being free.

Of course I make sense. I'm old! I'm old and I have a long beard. The bottom line is that people have this strange belief that if you are not happy, something is wrong with you.

So, so true. My biggest problem was always thinking being unhappy was the depression coming back and then I would get depressed over that. Vicsous fucking circle. For ME, once I broke that it made it a lot easier to beat the fucking disease.

This girl needs a good kick up the arse. What a whinger.
