That's PAY? Uh... can we please not put solid colors in the booty? I mean, I guess it'll have to go there, but it's ridiculous! I bookmarked this when I was playing with the Sims 3 design thingy: http://web.njit.edu/~kevin/rgb.txt.html

That color looks like EEB422, or very close to it. You can't own an RGB value!

What was funny is they told my SO at the time he could stay and he told them were they could shove it.

Good to hear he met minimal standards of human decency, about that anyway Wink.

That's a great post, CatOfWar. I'm amazed it's still up. Hopefully it will reach a lot of people.

I've actually been kicked from a game group because half the guys were macho pigs and the other half were tired of listening to the macho pigs treating me like crap for being the one female in the group

So half were macho pigs and the other half were cowardly assholes without the guts to tell the macho pigs were to go? And you wanted to play with these jackasses why?

I still don't know where people find these men.

We had quite a few customers who insisted the girls who worked at the game store could not possibly play games because we were girls. Women did this at least as often as men did. "Gee, these boys and their games, they're so silly, don't you think?" The gobsmacked look I'd get from those bottle blond trophy wives when I told them I played video games was priceless. (This was not a store in the "hood", it was a store in a very wealthy suburban so-called "community".) And there was one peach of a guy who told us we were lying when my assistant manager and I told him we did play games -- obviously we didn't have any skills, we were just hired to look cute. She was within an inch of throwing him out, till he spotted the guy who was working there that night and glommed onto him. But the customer was looking for a PC game so my coworker had to run back and forth between the idiot and me to figure things out Roll Eyes.

Then there were the guys who believed we played games and this was the biggest turn-on of their lives. *shudders*

Multiple studies have shown that females make up at least 40% of gamers but those gaming sites are stuck in some neverland locker room filled with boobie pictures and EA cash.

And isn't that number still growing, because more and more females are getting into different types of games.

Yep. When I worked in a game store, the only kind of game I could really say I never saw any woman buy for herself was a football game. Women dominated sales of Sims games, but they were also a slight majority in sales of JRPGs, and were about co-equal with men in buying other RPGs, platformers, survival-horror, adventure games, shooters, racing games, and sports games besides basketball, football and boxing. Men were slightly ahead in buying fighting games, and Madden releases were testosterone central.

My own observations obviously don't make for a scientific study. But I also think women buy games online more often than men. It's gotten slightly better recently, but women being treated like garbage when they actually go to a store to purchase a game is still pretty common. And while the employees tend to be better, fellow customers aren't necessarily; being latched onto by some creepy nerd because omg UR A GIRL is not a pleasant experience.

99% of gaming sites suck hugely. You can't trust their reviews because the reviewers will get in trouble if they don't like a game whose ads are plastered on the site. They cater specifically to the pseudo-macho sexist homophobic male dorks they think all gamers are. Multiple studies have shown that females make up at least 40% of gamers but those gaming sites are stuck in some neverland locker room filled with boobie pictures and EA cash. Some of the reviewers (almost all of whom are male) might want to change, but the suits, who don't know anything about gaming, won't let them. The sites don't care about consumers anyway, they care about the huge game companies, with EA heading the list.

Some day, game reviewers will get the same kind of clout and independence movie and book reviewers have. Until then I get my reviews and gaming news from certain bloggers and other peoples' posts on forums.
67  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame on: 2009 August 14, 07:32:02
Well, the rest of it is smutty, or at least damn fugly.  Its just it seems so many people equate big chest to smut and after a while, having said big chest [with a sports bra they do kind of look stuck on when still O.o] it bothers me a little.

And for some reason we are in week two of me wanting to rip peoples' heads off - don't mind me >.>

The reason could be that ripping peoples' heads off is fun! I didn't see any rippage though. I am sorely disappointed Cry. I know exactly what you mean about equating big chests with smut or being a bimbo though. It's like telling someone she's too pretty to bother studying, or that she must have been hired for her looks. I do so wish I owned and could use a chakram...

However, if someone teases her hair until it can block out the sun, and then wears tight, revealing clothing that's guaranteed to give her a yeast infection, I will definitely call her a smutty bimbo. That's the look she's going for, after all.
68  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame on: 2009 August 13, 11:28:28
Well, yes - they are painful, but I meant what is so damn silutty about bewbs, 'specially big ones.  I doubt I cause anyone to go 'How smutty' just because I'm well endowed. Cheesy  Of course, I wear teeshirts and jeans....

Just a guess here, but I'm betting your breasts wouldn't cause you to float away in a strong breeze, or be mistaken for large, perfect cantaloupes, unlike Ms. Bighair Manjaw there. I've got a strong jaw for a woman, but not like THAT.

Further, nylons + lycra bodysuit = eeewwww.
69  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: IN UR COMPUTER, VIRUSIN' UR FILES! on: 2009 August 13, 11:15:38
I've been playing Persona 3 cuz Sims 3 kinda sucks but anyway I just caught up and...

Ya know, the Sims community is masochistic. TSR keeps pulling worse and worse crap and a ton of people who do absolutely know better just bend over and say "thank you sir may I have another." (Pescado gets away with shit too, actually, but asshole that he is I think he's still a net benefit, so meh.)

Gee let's all be "reasonable" here! We wouldn't want to go overboard accusing people we know to, at every turn, have made vile moral choices! After all, when they talk to us, they're nice, right? They don't swear or challenge us or argue or make us uncomfortable. They flatter us. They ask for our help. They've been proven to pull shit that's illegal, immoral, and just plain wrong, for YEARS, but why can't we all just get along? *sob*

See, I don't think it's "reasonable" to trust lying, cheating, money-grubbing scumbags. I guess I'm just a paranoid fanatic, huh? In the past few weeks, I have been enlightened, and I can truly see why Pescado became Pescado. Ugh.
70  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: IN UR COMPUTER, VIRUSIN' UR FILES! on: 2009 August 05, 00:18:23
Donīt be so harsh with them.

Don't be so harsh... with TSR?! Fuck that, they're an illegal con-artist site that constantly pulls shit on people for not bending over nicely for them.

PMBD has become way too "nice". Hell, in reading over the AwesomeMod threads, I'm thinking even MATY has become too "nice"; dumbasses aren't being fried with nearly the frequency and vigor that they should be. I guess people are just burned out because nothing's changed except the game, and Sims 3 isn't nearly the game Sims 2 was.
71  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: IN UR COMPUTER, VIRUSIN' UR FILES! on: 2009 August 02, 23:18:10
Why would you think that Pescado would care about retaining credibility? Tongue If stupid people are so stupid that they're fine with having a proven malicious entity install unknown junk on their computers, I say they deserve it.
72  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame on: 2009 July 31, 02:13:18
Uh... I sure as hell hope most "12"s (12-18) know how sex works. They aren't gonna learn it in any realistic way from movies, music or video games either, it's the parents' job to 1) talk to them about it AND 2) do everything they can to get good sex ed into their kids' schools. It's when teens don't know about sex that they get into trouble with it. I knew how sex worked when I was a 6. Because I asked my mom where babies came from when I was, um... a zero (in kindergarten), and she told me. I found the explanation exceedingly boring. And I think the fact that sex was never obfuscated for me is why I was never tempted to do it before I knew I was ready and an 18.

Also, Everquest 2 has individual body sliders for boobs, waist, hips, AND height. There's not a big range, but they're there. If MMOs, which must be able to render dozens of "people" at once, in EQ2's case at rather high detail, can do it, Sims 2 can do it. EA is blatantly lying by saying boob sliders would negate a "T" rating. They're just too fucking lazy to make their game, which is based largely on customizable pixel people, actually have really customizable pixel people. Unfortunately most people who play the Sims will swallow whatever crap EA shovels.

Just how low are people supposed to stoop for a job, anyway? I could go dance at a topless bar and get paid well, but I am not going to do that.

Wow, nice to know you equate what I do to survive with topless dancing.  Fuck you.

Uh. I have no idea what you do to survive. Nor do I equate it with topless dancing, which actually I don't think is a rotten choice for everyone, but it would be for ME. Fuck you right back for assuming so fucking much.
74  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: In Ur Accounts, Deletin Ur Stuffs! on: 2009 June 18, 07:21:09
Oh please. Darqstar, I was not implying that your job was "just so low", period. If you want to keep fighting with me over this, PM me.

And no, I was not implying that anyone who believed Thomas was stupid. Trusting, perhaps naive. If you have not yet learned this, ANYONE can be suckered. However, I do think a massive majority of the FAs now are stupid, even independent of them believing or not believing Thomas, because of what they themselves have written. They come off as extremely dumb people.

Steve leads TSR, but Thomas is the figurehead, and he has people he publicly screws over regularly giving him tongue baths. There are plenty of people in the world (the U.S.'s former president comes to mind) who know how to project charisma to a certain subset of people, while everyone else wonders how this sack of wet noodles is popular with anyone. Anyone with a following has charisma. Having a following you regularly screw over while being a lying scumbag does imply a certain amount of skill. If Thomas had a lot of skill at it, he'd be doing something else.
75  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR: In Ur Accounts, Deletin Ur Stuffs! on: 2009 June 18, 03:28:13
He's a great liar, granted, but really, they want to be fooled with his lies. A charismatic guy could tell them more truth and they'd still follow him.

I think we're using "charismatic" differently. You seem to see it as an either/or thing. I see it as a continuity. If someone had no charisma, he simply could not lead even TSR. It's not like I'm claiming he's Cary Grant or something. But only someone with a certain amount of charisma can make people want to believe him when he lies. And actually, I think Thomass is a quite crappy liar. I could think of much better ways to lie than he does.
