I wouldn't go and say that people using the workshop are on the same level of evil that the TSR management has shown - like most people, its more about using something that's easy to use.  I think people trusting TSR is a bit foolish, but its their computers, and their choice.  It might be Workshop is the one safe thing to come from TSR, we'll see, but I won't touch it myself.

For my own part, if my only option for CC is stuff made with the TSR tool, then I'll either not play at all, or play a mostly vanilla game.  Haven't had the time to boot it up for over a month anyway - between relearning SL, running a radio station [even if its a tiny hobby station] and other RL type stuff, I've just not had the time or inclination to play sims lately.  I hope for more time, and maybe soon I'll have it, but right now, I just don't.

I -won't- use something sponsored by TSR.  I won't judge people by their company - plenty of folks who are even more generous of spirit and optimistic than me out there, who'll keep giving chances.  And coming from me, that's saying a lot - I'm always getting grumbles for how -I'm- an apologist.  But TSR has been spitting on the community since Sims 1 and the great paysite migration [which is to say, all the popular sites deciding they could charge].  They have shown themselves to be crooks, cybercriminals, and worse.  Good luck to those insisting on continuing to trust them, or influence them to change their ways.  I think you'll need it.  I'd think by now the example of BPS and how they were treated - a neutral party - would be warning enough, if all the other things weren't.

Everyone else has said it some much better, but there is my 2 cents.

I know I don't buy it - as Coconut says, TSR is announcing it, but it doesn't make it true.  That's like them announcing Numenor helped on their workshop [when to my knowledge, he hasn't touched sims 3 stuff at all.]

I need to convert my stuff over - 'specially the counter culture stuff I made.  And think I'll ask Numenor and Mary Lou's permission to convert their kitchen stuff over too, though it might require me doing stuff as seperate meshes....I'm not -that- good.

Also can find lots of tileable patterns, or work with filters and make your own patterns.

Yes - report them, don't play with it at all.

Used to be, when I would get into a towering rage or in tears I'd go play columns to calm down.

Which is precisely why I not only asked Numenor for permision, but was super pleased he wanted to see them and check my coding [he fixed them so they would actually -be- open underneath.  And I gave him full credit.

And see, that's the thing - I make stuff -I- like.  I -want- my stairs to match, and if I want wooden stairs [for example] why clutter up everything with twice as many recolours?  Doesn't make sense to me.

And back on subject, selling stuff like this doesn't make sense either.

Okay - as someone who happens to like both games, for different reasons [and Sims 1 for its reasons too] can we please fucking stop with the attacks back and forth?

I'm not adverse to having two threads, myself.  Because if nothing else, maybe we'd stop having this fucking bickering.  I -thought- we were adults here.

Also, medications not only distanced me and caused my love ones pain, but there is also this - it dulls my creativity [and look at the history of novelists and artists] and that hurt worst of all.

I'll be honest, but I've not been so fond of her, ever since -right- after I made my first open underneath stairs, she had to make them and others - because 'zOMG' I made mine repository to Numenor's recolourable stairs.  How -dare- I?

And of course she got all sorts of praise for doing what I'd just done, but not in as tidy a file.

Oh, I agree - though my mom took me to a counsellor as a kid - was put in with a group of girls my own age - and the counsellor soon realized that my problems did not belong in that - that my problems were parental.  So, into counselling with my mom - and that didn't work.  Apparently, I just avoided the generation of throwing pills at mental and emotional problems.

And I should be on meds for being manic-depressive - but -  they make me into a zombie and I don't want to lose my happy swings just to not have crying jags.

Photoskinning faces -does not work- in Sims 3.  And it sure doesn't work when you don't bother to adjust the bone structure underneath.
