There was some dingbat over on LJ trying to make it seem like this info-sharing thing isn't a big deal, and that TSR isn't in the wrong. Apparently, this person has never heard of identity theft.
A dingbat using a sheep as their icon. The irony was incredibly thick, just like them.

I just rolled a Fortune sim who gets his LTW fulfilled ...of owning 5 businesses. One is going to be his mom's art store, but that's four more. It works for my BACC, but that's a lot of commercial building. A bakery, a newstand, a karoake club, a bar. So both sets of windows are going to be really needed!

And it took me a long time to trust girlfriends again. For the longest time, I was just hanging out with guys because girls had been so horrible to me.
You are really picking the wrong people.

Theft protection with a max liability of $50 is the rule rather than the exception in the US. My parents had a card stolen and $13k charged at Home Depot. They were only liable for $50.

Home Depot? The criminals were redecorating their bathroom, or adding a deck to their house? I should probably not be amused by this.

When I worked retail, people used to get mad at me because I asked for photo ID when they used a credit card. So dumb.
Possibly a deck. Apparently, there were massive quantities of wood involved.

No hating on the bra-less.
Oh those are nipples? I thought it was just some sort of inconsistency in the texture. Someone has tiny, tiny nippies.

Identity theft is a bit different and more insidious. However, it's usually preventable by making as many of your bills paperless as possible, being careful of who you give personal info to, not carrying your social security card around, and periodically checking your credit report. Oh, and apparently we need to add "don't pay for subscriptions to TSR" to the list.

Not that I'm aware of. Pity about the bronchitis, I had a stint of getting acute bronchitis until I developed walking pneumonia. Somehow the walking pneumonia broke the chain.

Package lot normally.
Go to another account on your Windows, or take your Downloads folder out temporarily. I like having the other account.
Using Clean Installer, open the lot pack.
Uncheck all recolors you know weren't used in the lot.
Install lot.
Fire up game. Place lot.
Make sure nothing is flashing blue or somesuch.
Repackage lot.

I've never whole-game reinstalled. Even when I switched from my laptop to my PC, I used a program called Aloha Bob and it moved everything flawlessly.

I don't think I've ever downloaded a lot. When I opened Clean Installer to take out the furnishings/decorations, I was shocked. For each rug- all meshes and recolors. Curtains, same thing. There was more, I think and I had no idea. That's getting an awful lot of things that you might not want!

Call me partial, but if someone uploaded a lot like the one I'm working on, I WOULD nab it- then again, that'd be because it'd be furnished and decorated in my "style". But, I'd surely use Clean Installer to get rid of what I might not want.
What I do is package it, switch to my cc-free testing account, and install the lot there with only the recolors I used. Then repackage in the test account.

I have Numenor's hack for recolors of those basic wooden stairs, and approximately 30 recolors. That means that if I use the stairs and don't even use a recolor, I have those 30 files tagging along. Grr.

Advil Migraine. I swear by it. I just went through a day and a half of migraines and a half dose keeps it to something I can just barely sense. Advil Migraine, plus a cool cloth over the forehead and a bit of meditation to some soft trance should kill anything. Unless, of course, you are sound-sensitive with migraines. I'm strictly light-sensitive.
41  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Jassims.com, a new paysite? on: 2008 November 06, 03:32:10
Jassims, I'll say this in very simple words, though we all know you can understand English.

You can not sell these files. Ever. EA owns them. You can not put your name on other people's work.
You are an ass.

This really sounds more like an issue you should take up with that "Animal Army" thing.
It sounds like something that should be taken up with a sledgehammer. This has to be the most blatant disregard of creator TOS I've ever seen.

It just proves they are dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb-dee dumb dumb.

This we know: either Coconut is an FA, or she has an FA informant or twelve. She would not have gotten the info at all if she didn't have some sort of FA access, first or second hand. You cannot see the FA forum as a standard user. So a password is going to accomplish what?

I hate that format. Too much clicking.
