You'd think that after 3 games Sunair knew enough about meshing and texturing to be able to place the text centered on the bottles and not stretched or squeezed akwardly. Apparently not.  Roll Eyes

The most stupid thing about that locomotive is that you can see right through it to the road on the other side where the door is. How talentless is that?  Roll Eyes

PS They, apart from the rear lights that is actually pretty much what a BMW 7 SDN looks like. Try a Googe image search next time.  Wink

The bedroom I was asking about above is done. In the end I did manage to make it a slave to the previous living set, which makes it take up very little space in your DL folder. Thanks again for all the useful input.

Okay, now that last donkey is seriously sick.

I'm not kidding. That pose is symptom of a serious disease. I only know the Danish term for it, but Google translation tells me it's called Laminitis. It's what happens when horses and donkeys seriously overeat. It's bad and if not treated can be completely debilitating.

Do a quick Google Image search on laminitis and you'll see I'm not joking. Then go and download and enjoy having a sick donkey in your game.  (As if ... )

Paden and Paleo are right. Horses do lie down - some of the quite a lot even. But definitely not that way. That's the way dogs, cats and sphinxes lie down. Right pose, wrong animal so to speak.

Only with some of them. There's actually quite a few recent threads about Sims sites hackings over at BPS.

Take a look here:

Is it just me or does that support the theory that a list of passwords from the unencrypted TSR database has been leaked out into the hacking community?

Don't generalise. I look like that and I don't have an eating disorder. I eat a lot, I'm just lucky (or not, depending how you look at it). But no, I don't have a fat face or wear that kind of underwear. So TSR still phails.

And I'm a normally eating skinny bitch too. (Nowhere near as anorexic looking as the stick women in the picture above, though). But I don't go around parading as a model trying to get children and young people to buy/download bikinis and other skimpy outfits. Just because the game allows you to make scrawny, skinny sims doesn't make it okay to use them as models for your outfits. Particularly not on a site that deems itself family friendly and thus would have a lot of very young downloaders.

... is all I'm saying.  Wink

I'm a lot more put off by the skinniness of the models. Excellent advertising for eating disorders.  Angry

You'd think those ghastly colours were enough to wake her up.  Cool

I think you're right.

Okay, cool. Bedframe and bedding will make up the bed. Canopy will be separate.

HugeLunatic, I think you're right that slaving it to the bedding won't look good. Or at least the canopy might look okay, but the resulting bedding would look weird. Jonesi's bedblanket is a good idea, but after taking a quick look at the texture map, I don't think it would work either. The blanket is mapped in a square whereas the canopy is an oblong, and I'm not sure I can stretch it that much without loosing detail. Will try, though.

Which also raises another question. Should I make a new 'Master' for the bedroom set, or should I just slave everything to the existing living set?
(ETA: That problem has just solved itself. None of the texture maps from the first set fit the need of the bedroom, so I have to make a new master).

Many thanks for your input. I definitely appreciate it.

Hmmm. I need to see if that is possible. Standard custom bedding has to fit a specific template, and I'm not sure the canopy patterns would fit into it. But it's a really good suggestion and I'll try and see if it can work.

In the meantime, any other preferences?

Paleo, that’s pretty scary what you’re telling. And that was before her big deroute out of TSR began. Do you think Thomas or anyone else of the TSR management would see this side of her or would she be one person with her ‘superiors’ and another with those she thought were her equals or obviously her minors?

(And do you have to register to view and insane journal? It keeps telling me there are no entries anywhere I click).

Kenmtl, yeah, you’re right about that. It’s sad and unfortunate, but whatever’s the story about Atwa and Thomas its results have affected so many people in the community that I’m not even sure a full explanation could make up for it. Of course, it might offer some comfort for those people that Atwa has insulted, threatened and harassed over the years.

A question about what you all prefer:

I'm making a bedroom out of the Melaka Living set I was shamelessly bragging about above. And I've run into a same-old same-old problem with the beds. There can only be two recolorable subsets and one of them has to be the bedding - at least if you want to be able to use all your custom beddings on it. But apart from the bedding I have another *two* different parts that I would like to be separately recolorable, and I'd like to hear suggestions about to how to solve this.

A picture of the first version of the double bed to make it easier to explain. The different parts are the bedding, the bedframe and the canopies.

There are three options:

A) Make the bedframe and the bedding in one file - both recolorable. Then make the canopies as another file that you'd have to put on separately in your game.

B) Make the bedframe and the canopies in one file - both recolorable. Then make the bedding as another file that you'd have to put on separately in your game.

C) Make only one file where the bedding and the canopies are joined in a subset (the bedframe would be the other subset). This would mean that you can’t use all your custom beddings for this bed, but only the ones I make for it.

I’d appreciate knowing which option would you’d all prefer. Thanks in advance for any input.  Smiley

I  still think Anita had something significant on Thomas, and he knew she was nuts enough to do him some dirt if he didn't appease her.

Actually - and this is just a thought - if Atwa knew and had proof that Thomas was the one who compromised the TSR database and took out the unencrypted passwords that would give her serious leverage over him. Especially if the rest of the TSR management didn't know he had done that. She could then threat to out him both to the community and to his peers.

In any case I can't help thinking how different the last part of that MSN chat is - the one where she talks about the petition list. For the first many pages she is ranting and raving like a mad woman, and then she suddenly behaves like a child who's done something naughty that she's also a little proud of. Just the way she says 'Thomas' and then runs off ...
